Very cool spot. We enjoyed the experimental cocktails that they offered. The drink was balanced and perfect for a very cold night inAustin.

Good cocktails! Fun spot to have drinks before dinner or night out. Menu is "cowboys and aliens" themed. Bar is a little hard to find if you don't know where you're going so make sure to use your reservation confirmation for directions.

This place was not what I expected! I'd seen it on the map several times and assumed it was like a dive bar given some of the spots nearby... not so. It's a speakeasy for sure! You need a reservation; after you make it, they send you a conf which includes the name of the person who's doorbell you ring when you arrive (that's how they know you're there). The entrance is an iron latticework door and looks very unassuming; inside there are plush booth chairs in an older, small (and narrow) space. Does seem to track with the fact that the space used to be a brothel~ our waitress was very helpful and checked on us several times after arriving. The menu is designed like a little comic, and it's cowboys vs. aliens themed which is fun! I asked about a floral/sweeter drink and most of their drinks are a little stronger and not quite that vibe, so just be aware (eg lots of folks got a Smokey Manhattan style, or other whiskey/gin/etc. based upscale cocktails). Nevertheless, I liked my drink, it just wasn't as "girly" as what is usually go for. But even so - I can't complain for a strong drink!! The prices are a little higher but you're paying for vibes too. Overall - thought this was a fun place to come with my friend and was really glad I'd tried it! It could def be a good date spot too, but it's a little quieter inside and the space is narrow so be mindful you can kinda hear other folks lol~? But def still rec a visit!

Midnight Cowboy was an awesome start to our friends bachelorette. Since we were a group of 6, we ended up going to a back room and our host was pretty kind. Everyone got a variety of drinks, they have something for everyone. They were friendly and we had the room for 1.5 hours which was around 2 rounds for each person. I think the drinks and ambiance were great also I'll definitely come back for date night because I want to experience the table side cocktail cart!

Now this little gem in downtown Austin is incredible! It is right on 6th Street amongst the other bars. However, you will not see it as it is hidden within a building that looks abandoned. You must make a reservation to receive a code to enter. Once inside, you are greeted nicely. This is a quaint spot that only serves craft cocktails. I had the Tea if Zatoichi and the Protomolecule. I was very impressed with the drinks and the decor on the inside. A very cool spot to wind down and enjoy music and a cocktail or two.

Have been here multiple times, each has been a fun time. We usually book a back room, without giving toomuch away, it comes with a small presentation/show which is entertaining and informative regarding the drinks you have chosen. You will need reservations for larger groups, I would honestly not go more than 6 (it's tight even then), if the outside light is on you can probably get in for smaller groups. It's one of the OG Speakeasies in ATX so will have my patronage when we looking for this kind of experience.

Great speakeasy experience and great drinks. Very eclectic drink menu and the waiter is very helpful with selections. We were all a big adventurous with our choices and I unfortunately don't remember the names of our drinks. But there are pics in the menu you can match them up to. A couple of these were made table side and they explain the process as they do it.You have to have a reservation to get in, and it is a nice, quiet environment among the bustle of 6th st.

Hmm. I'm torn on Midnight Cowboy. Honestly, the experience is cool and the drinks are good, but the staff really put us off. I'll start with that so we can finish on a positive note because I truly hate to leave a poor review. We had reservations for Friday night. It wasn't super busy but it's also reservation only and has additional seating outside so maybe it was more than it appeared. Our waitress was fine at first but then completely fell off. She wasn't really knowledgeable of the drinks to the extent of other local establishments. Never checked on us, walked back and forth past us several times and never stopped to ask if we were okay or enjoying our drinks or needed another drink. Also, the bartender and another waiter were clearly making fun of us for a small (and I mean small!) snafu that occurred when he dropped the drinks off. That was extremely off putting. The drinks were pretty tasty, but their prices are well above other bars with better drinks and service. Okay the good stuff! The experience is cool and honestly one of the sole reasons to check out MC. You press a button when you arrive like an apartment based on a code they email you. That was cool. It's also located conveniently on the "dirty" 6th. Inside is pretty unique, also. The story behind it is very interesting (used to be a brothel!). So do I recommend? Give it a try for the experience. Maybe we had a one off negative time?
