We regularly come to Maudie's. We try to find a seat at the bar so we can watch the games and see all the drink making in action. Their bartenders are also and take such great care of their patrons. You really can't beat the happy hour, especially all day on Mondays! The signature margaritas are so good and can pack a pinch of you're not careful. The happy hour specials are very filling and can easily be shared. If you are looking for a casual meal with good food with good vibes, look no further than Maudie's!

We started with Mexican Martini's. L ordered Beef Fahitas and I ordered Migas. Both were excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. Maudi's is classic TexMex in an enjoyable environment.

We went to Maudies for the first time before we headed to a concert and loved it! We had a great server, and the margaritas and food was good. We will definitely be back

We love Maudie's and have been going here for years. They offer great happy hour specials during the week. My favorite entree is the Chicken Chili Rellano, but the fajitas are also delicious. The patio is dog friendly. Service is usually great.

Went for margaritas. We ordered large house margaritas on the rocks. Decided to have nachos, guacamole and tamales to share. Robin had the soup which she seemed to enjoy. The food was tasty Tex-Mex fare. The guacamole was very good and combined with the chips and salsa we left pretty satisfied.

Maudie's is a classic for Tex-Mex in Austin and I always leave satisfied when I eat there. It's not going to blow your mind but it's reliable and has a large menu with something for everyone. My favorite lately has been the power bowl with the cilantro lime dressing, which is relatively healthy option with a large portion. We also really enjoy the brunch here. Service at this location has always been exceptionally quick and friendly and the vibes inside are nice and cozy for a neighborhood spot.

Not a good visit this trip. I ordered the Nachos Supreme, no cheese. I was disappointed that, even though there was no cheese, there was hardly any beans and a scant amount of guacamole. The only other things were 3 carrot slices, and a few jalapeño slices. There was no escabeche. It wasn't much for almost $10. In the past, this Maudie's has really impressed me; it was a fail this time.

I was a bad Yelper and forgot to take pictures of all my food, but I did grab a picture of the chips and salsa, which were fresh. I also got guacamole and queso, which were also very good. For my entree, I got fish tacos, my husband got a chimichanga, and my daughter got the bean and cheese nachos. The fish tacos are my go-to when I go to Maudie's, and these did not disappoint. My husband's chimichanga was the standard big burrito, but he was a little irritated because he asked for rice and beans, but they only gave him rice even though he said he would pay more, they never brought his beans. My daughter's nachos were on large homemade looking tortilla chips, but it looked like they overcooked the nachos, and the ends were burnt. There is plenty of parking, but this location shares its's parking lot with other businesses, so depending on the time of day, you may have to drive around a little to find a spot.Besides our food opportunities, our service, this time was a little different than when we normally go to Maudie's. The waitress who brought out our food did not seem like she normally interacted with the customers. She was a bit brash, but our main server apologized profusely and also shared that she would give her feedback to ensure the experience was better next time. Especially because the group that we were with, are regulars and literally knew half the staff. Will I go back again? Yes, but my husband and daughter will probably modify their orders next time.

First impression with any Tex-Mex restaurant- the chips and salsa. Chips were great - thin, crispy and fresh, but the salsa lacked flavor and was too spicy. My cheese enchiladas - not great. They don't have real cheese inside instead they have cheese sauce... like nacho cheese sauce. The rice and beans had no flavor. The rice was mushy and watered down and the beans were definitely watered down. We were seated in the patio, at the corner end of the tent where a draft hit us in freezing weather and the heaters did not reach us. I told the waiter it was cold and he said he'd take care of us. He clearly forgot, by the time he remembered to move us we had finished our meal and we had no good reason to stay. It was our first time there and I really wanted to like the place but we won't be going back.

Sunday evening, January 12th, four of us boys were eating out. Two were visiting from Seattle and were starved for Tex-Mex. Service was good, pricing average but food mediocre. Margaritas were syrupy with no liquor flavor. Cheese enchiladas had little cheese and were partially covered with chili that tasted from a can. Same for the refried beans and little flavor. The converted rice was Spanish only in that it was off-color; no flavor or color. The chili con queso was just okay. I know good Tex-Mex. My standard is the old El Real in Houston. This place disappointed me.
