Ordered the chicken parm which came with a tomato sauce on the chicken and Alfredo pasta.... When I tell you this is the best Alfredo pasta I've ever had, I'm not exaggerating. Even my boyfriend offered to "help me" finish the plate when I let him try some (HA!) However, I give 4 stars because the dessert and my boyfriend's plate didn't live up to mine. Wished for more consistency but again, that chicken parm is top tier.

Came with a small group for a work lunch. Ordering at the front was straight forward. I ordered the Tuesday special which was the chicken picatta. I personally really enjoyed it and originally planned to save some for leftovers and next thing I knew I was clean plate club. Also ordered a tiramisu to go, which was also good but maybe not my personal favorite within the Austin area.

We passed by Mandola's Italian Kitchen on N. Lamar Blvd. probably a hundred times on our way to Central Market. We saw they had a nice outside patio and we needed to wait for the summer heat to die down to try it. Living in Austin that means it's almost November.Mandola's was not was we expected, but not in a bad way. It was different in a good way. The staff of Mandola's was amazing. The micro-chain's Director of Operations, Justin Silecchia was there that night and we had a great time talking to him about, what else, Italian food and the Amalfi Coast. The rest of the staff was on fire moving people through the ordering line, gelato station and other queues. Extra praise for the bus person team who was at peak efficiency all night. We knew nothing about Mandola's and were expecting a sit down table service option. Instead, you order your meal at a counter and they deliver it to your table. When I saw this, my expectations for a quality meal went down. I am happy to say. The food surpasses my expectations and was an enjoyable experience. The owner hails from Sicily which is part of Italy depending upon who you ask. His family recipes are the basis for Mandola menu.We tried the Shrimp Scampi and the Gnocci Bolognese along with the Ceasar Salad. Both main course were very tasty and best of all were a normal person portion size. Definitely try their bread with the meal.Justin treated us to some gelato and tiramisu for dessert. The latter was a very generous portion and could easily serve two people (I will remember to not eat it by myself next time). Gelato was of course perfect. The patio was a great choice to eat. There were a ton of families there, with a lot of very active children. We have five and remembered the days of trying to enjoy a meal out while managing the chaos. So not a romantic dinner, but entertaining. There is a fountain nearby if you like the sound of water in the background, which we do.I would definitely recommend Mandola's for a good Italian meal in the casual market segment of restaurants. You will enjoy their hospitality from start to finish.

Terrific little restaurant. Both entrees were wonderful. It was our first visit, and the manager added a free sampling of their cookies to add to our wonderful meal. Definitely a family friendly environment. Try the house Chianti

Got the Saturday daily special, and it was to die for, saw it's not on the menu so it's like a fun when it's a unique item in my opinion and i ate it all up! Visiting my bro for his bday and it's close to his apt and i love the triangle always wanted to try this and happy i finally got to. FREE BREAD so already winning on my book + it's sooo yummmy. tried also the veggie spaghetti and so light and great portion. Vibes are very comfort classic chill italian. i see many desserts that i will be a dared to put me in a coma but i will be trying next time definitely. oh the service is so sweet nothing xtra but they bring u ur food and u order at the front so not really having a waiter bit u get it. will be coming back 3 meals and 1 soft drink was 66$ so do with that what u will!

Mandola's is a great place for affordable Italian food! I've been here many times in the past and I'm happy to see that it is still thriving! Service is very quick. After we ordered and sat down, our food came out in minutes. If you are having trouble picking what to eat, their daily special menu offers some great food. I also like how you can self-serve with getting utensils and to-go boxes. You already pay when you order, so there's no need to wait for a server, which works because Mandola's can crowded. The have many tables inside and outside. The bruschetta tastes good, but the ingredients are quite simple, so I probably won't get it again. I like the baked ziti! Wasn't too cheesy, so I was also able to eat some panini. Each table comes with complimentary bread and oil. They have a variety of Italian food and also a section just for gelato! I didn't get some this time because I was full but their gelato is really good too. There's a nice fountain outside! It's located inside the Triangle, so you can also stroll around and check out other places. Parking is easy to find.

Mandola's Italian Kitchen is one of my go-to spots for yummy Italian food! The vibes inside of the resturant feel warm and welcoming. The decor kind of makes it feel like you've stepped into a restaurant in Italy. The staff is friendly but sometimes you can feel a bit rushed to order when it gets busy which seems to be their way of keeping the line moving. The food on the other hand, is consistently good every time I've visited. I recommend the chicken alfredo. It's rich, creamy, well seasoned, with just the right amount of heaviness so you leave feeling satisfied but not overly stuffed. The Chicken Parmesan, another one of my favorites, is extra crispy and cheesy. Their wood-fired pizzas are also pretty good, my favorite is the classic Margherita.Mandola's is great for families or casual dining. They also have a solid selection of Italian gelato or other desserts to end your meal. The prices are reasonable and you really get what you pay for in quality and size.
