Malverde, located on 2nd Street in downtown, is a standout event space that I've visited three times (from events I recall including a winery gathering, an HR speaker event, and an art exhibit), each visit leaving a positive impression. The venue's compact layout ensures a smooth flow of people traffic, creating an ideal setting for various events. Its central downtown location adds to its accessibility, making it a convenient choice for attendees. The trendy yet welcoming ambiance, along with the ability to host diverse events, makes Malverde a go-to spot for those seeking an enjoyable mix of bites, sips, and engaging conversations. Malverde consistently delivers a memorable experience with its wonderful location, adaptable space, and inviting atmosphere. I eagerly anticipate future visits to this exceptional downtown gem!

Private tequila bar above La Condesa. Great venue with a DJ and fantastic wait staff. Passed Hors d'oeuvres we're great. Save this place in your little black book.

We recently attended a function at this "social" space in the heart of downtown Austin. Parking available in the same building, which is a HUGE plus, albeit a tad bit expensive... but it is downtown! Nicely appointed, comfortable space, featuring indoor/outdoor spaces to accommodate a wide variety of functions. Not a terrible big space, so the event size is limited. Full service bar. Nice sound system. All in all, a very nice space to consider for an event with 50 to 100 people.

I do not recommend this company. I believe they have over charged me $900 for a rehearsal lunch I hosted last weekend. They have failed to respond to me and there is no direct number to call - you can only leave a message. Our original contact, Laura has ignored my emails requesting that she please call me. I suggest that you very carefully negotiate your contract. There are hidden charges, charges documented as optional for which they default to charging you. It's really poor form. Moreover, for nearly $4000 you can feed ~50 people tacos with a cash bar. Really?Avoid.

I just had my wedding here over the weekend and it was absolutely incredible. We wanted a small wedding with an intimate vibe so that we could truly enjoy our guests. The food and drink were amazing-- people especially loved the corn and the margaritas. The staff were kind, accommodating, and prompt. My mom and I went back and forth deciding if we should have the cocktail style reception or seated dinner, and I'm really glad we did the cocktail reception. Everyone was able to mingle and enjoy and it felt like a big, joyous party. I've never been to a cocktail style reception, and I absolutely loved it.If you're contemplating having a wedding event here-- do it! You won't regret it!

My wife and I had our pre-wedding rehearsal dinner at Malverde last week. Everything about the evening was impeccable.It was an absolute pleasure working with Malverde's event coordinator, Jessica Tate. She was very quick to respond to our questions and change-requests in the weeks and days leading up to the event, and didn't even mind that we showed up to the dinner 15 minutes early with all of our guests. She was at the venue during our entire event, ensuring that everything went smoothly, and it most certainly did.Truth be told, I was slightly hesitant to have an event at Malverde, given that over the years I've found the food and service at La Condesa to be hit-or-miss. However, both the food *and* the service were *flawless* for our event. Every dish was beautifully plated and each one tasted perfect. The staff was simply amazing as well. And of course, the venue itself was beautiful.My experience with Malverde makes me with I could give it a 6-star review! :)

This is where I have my SXSW party every year. It's intimidate and casual. The food is delicious and they do a great job of serving my guests. I love the open bar in that it's right there and easy to access. We can for nearly 200 people at the location. Jessica is easy to work with.

We did our rehearsal dinner at Malverde back in February and were so thrilled with how it turned out! We had about 85 people an opted for a cocktail reception style event with a taco station, some passed apps, and an open bar. We booked the space for 3 hours and when our time was up everyone was still having such a great time that it was hard to get people to leave! They food and drinks were delicious, the staff is super friendly and attentive and the space is really cool for this type of event. They helped us set up the A/V system so we could play a slideshow that we put together of baby pictures of me and my husband, and even were able to produce a microphone at the last minute when people unexpectedly wanted to give some speeches. There menu is also super friendly for people with food allergies - almost everything on the menu is naturally gluten-free, and they worked with me to create a special plate of food that I felt good eating (despite my numerous food allergies) on the night before the wedding. Last but not least, the downtown location is super convenient for people walking from wedding hotels / those who wanted to go out downtown for more drinks afterwards (not that anyone really needed more drinks after the super strong margs at Malverde). Malverde is one of the best venues in downtown Austin! From the most delicious food, the beautiful atmosphere, the outstanding host and wait staff, we couldn't have been any happier. From the beginning of planning our dinner to the night of our event, every single person I talked to and worked with was knowledgeable, friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The space is gorgeous and interesting. We hosted a wedding and a dinner afterwards and Malverde made it very special and memorable. It is an ideal setting for any celebration that you would like to host or attend. The location and parking are so convenient. A special shout out to Sara and Amanda! And they might have the best margarita in Austin!

Malverde was the wedding venue of our dreams! The first time I saw it I fell in love with the ambience and decor but the delicious food and drinks ultimately sealed the deal. It's such a gem in the middle of the hustle of downtown Austin, it ends up feeling like it's own little oasis. Laura and the rest of the staff there were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to give us the best day! I can't say enough good things about our experience here.
