I was pleasantly surprised by Lou's on Barton Springs. This spot had been on my list for a while, and I'm not sure why it took me so long to check it out! We went for their Wednesday night burger night (half-off all burgers), and it did not disappoint. The burger was excellent--one of the best I've had in Austin. Their $7 Frozen Margarita during Happy Hour was less impressive. It was served in a smaller cup than I expected. It was fine to try once, but I'd likely choose a different drink next time. The atmosphere is great, with plenty of seating options and validated parking in a nearby garage. The back room, with its lit-up tree, was especially nice at night and added a cozy touch.Overall, Lou's is a solid spot, and I'm looking forward to returning to try more of their menu

Very cute spot, don't get me wrong. Easy to get to and has parking. Fans for hot and fire pit for cold Food is okay The main thing though are that the drinks were terrible. Their spicy cucumber spritzer type thing and it just tasted like watered down pepper juice I couldn't even finish it. It could have just been maybe a new bartender but you can't really see them or interact so kind of awkward. They were showing football but no sound so sort of boring but I'm sure it's nice if you're wanting that

Decent, burger & chicken cobb salad. Nice local bakery bun for the burger, but nothing amazing to make you crave it, same went for the roasted chicken. Onion rings were spectacular, maybe the best ever; they are huge and crispy, perfectly fried- so that the batter doesn't just fall off when you eat it. But they are $8 onion rings. Soft serve ($6.50) was very good & huge (good portion to split), not very sweet- great- but melted a bit fast. Total of all that w tax and tip came to $56, which I just thought was too much to go back. It's not even a nice restaurant setting, only shaded outdoor. I can justify higher prices when the ambiance & service is really good, if I'm meeting up with a friend to stay for several hours etc.

Nice spot to grab a small bite and some coffee. They have a decent menu including breakfast items, alcohol, sandwiches, etc.I just got 1 brisket taco and it was juicy and flavorful. My friend got the breakfast sandwich and she said it was decent. My horchata latte wasn't all that.A downside about this place is that there is no indoor seating - everything is outdoor. But they have umbrellas, fans, and mist for customers to be more comfortable which is nice.

My mom and I visited Lou's for lunch after an event downtown. It's an outdoor spot with a walk up ordering window. They have quite a few tables with umbrella shades. We ordered the chicken tenders to split and it was the perfect amount of food to share. We each had three tenders and plenty of fries. The tenders were juicy and had flavorful spices. When im in the area again, I'll definitely consider Lou's!

My daughter and I went to Lou's last Saturday. We were trying to decide where to go when I mentioned chicken and my daughter said there was a place she wanted to try. It was close to noon, there were people ahead of us in line, but we did not have to wait long at all for our food. They have outdoor seating. Some tables had an umbrella, some did not but it was such a perfect afternoon that it was really pleasant eating there. The chicken tasted great and the dipping sauce was really good too. My daughter and I never eat a lot at lunch so we split the chicken strips basket and it was more than enough for the two of us. They have a separate window if you order ahead which is really nice, because then you don't have to wait in line to pick up your order. I would definitely go back there again if it's a nice enough day to sit outside.

Great place; we sat outside in a screened in porch with a tree growing through it. Plenty of fans made it nice and breezy. Amazingly tasty chicken, get the green sauce to go with the chicken. The potatose had a great whole grain mustard sauce. We added the kale salad just to say we had a salad. Quick snack and I already want to go back. The cocktails were tasty and imaginative as well.

We are here yesterday and very much enjoyed it. We walked right up and placed our order with Violet, who was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor seating was the move! Great feel, with shade and mist fans on a hot day. It was a good setup with lots of lively colors. As for the food, the wings were solid, and my fiancé even said they were her favorite wings in Austin. The chicken sandwich was well done too.We would come back again!

I went to Lou's for the first time this week for their Wednesday night trivia. So fun! My partner and I met up with some friends and tried our luck. There is plenty of outdoor seating out back, and even though it was cold out, we were ok with the outdoor heaters and the fire pit. Plus, Lou's has blankets that you can just ask for at the front. We got drinks, and I was happily surprised at the amount of options, as well as the quick service. There are staff constantly walking the outdoor area collecting glasses as you finish them. Trivia started at 8pm, so we had already eaten dinner by the time that we arrived, but I did see some groups enjoying burgers that looked delicious! I'll have to try those next time. There is a parking lot attached to Lou's, but it was already full by the time we arrived. We ended up finding free street parking 1 block away, which was perfect. Since that was my first time there, I'm not sure if that's normal or if that was more of a one-time thing, but either way, always check the surrounding streets if needed (or just get there a little earlier).
