Food is delicious, hot, fresh and very friendly staff. Portions are large and affordable. You must try and we will definitely visit again.

My family and I have been dining at Los Reyes for over 20 years. The restaurant is located in the large building behind P Terry's and across the parking lot from Fitness Connection and Goodwill. The restaurant has always been clean and it's nicely decorated. The owner is usually onsite. He and the staff have always welcoming. Secret it and my favorite is the Tortilla Chipotle Soup. It's moderately spicy and has shredded chicken. The soup alone is 5 stars. Their chips are always fresh and the salsa is spot on. The other dishes are excellent. The Margaritas are quality and well flavored. Los Reyes will continue to be on 'My Keepers List'

We, the wife and I stopped in here after our day out. It is super close to the house and we had not been so we figured lets try it out.It has a large area, when we were there is was not busy at all but not empty either. The chips were good, and Shana said the Salsa had a kick without being too spicy. The staff was fast and we never felt like we had to wait too long for anything. We ordered Queso, first real downside, not great. In Austin you have to do better. As Shana and I talked about you can take basic queso and do something to make it yours. This was not it, it was not the worst but nothing special and not much meat added.Shana got the Camarones, a shrimp dish, and it was in her words "Solid but nothing super special" I got the chicken Fajitas and felt pretty much the same. The chicken was fine, the flour tortillas were not good, they were hard and tough. They give you about 3 pinches of shredded cheese, overall this is an ok restaurant but not sure we would be back unless we craze Mexican and don't want to go far, for the price it is not really worth it.

Bland, boring, no passion in the most basic traditional Mexican dishes, with no real identity. Salsa taste bulk from Costco. The margaritas were insulting. Huge served with barely any alcohol in it, paid for Don Julio for an extra shot, then couldn't drink it. Tasted like all water. They didn't listed to our edits even though they were simple, and we spoke in fluent Spanish and English for no confusion. The restaurant seems like it's holding onto their last legs, but you can tell the quality of ingredients is just low low low, poor quality. This area seems to be a food desert unless you want fast food. Where are the gems? Y'all locals, start putting some passion in your food. Go explore other nicer restaurants and google their recipes and techniques online and bring it back to your restaurant. It's a Thursday night before a holiday weekend and it should be popping. Where's the live music? Where's the passion? So sad. We moved to a nice area nearby and have been discovering the level of restaurants nearby aren't worth going to. They were friendly staff, but for $76 plus tips on 2 enchilada plates, no apps, and 1 water down margarita...pretty insulting. I wish you guys luck so we can come back and party hardy. Blessing to you. Chin up! Bring life into this area. I'll help bring you clients. Update your menu with healthier options from all over Mexico, central, and South America and you'll improve. Promise. Best wishes

This is place is hiding in plain sight. It doesn't look very popular but food is great. Refried beans are delicious. Homemade four tortillas and very cozy. Staff is good and fast. Again not many know about it but I keep going back.

My wife, daughter and I came in for the first time in our 6 years living in Austin. We have been dissapointed with lackluster restaurants until now. The atmosphere is calming and having Shariff and Lark smiling, asking how your day is going is something you simply don't see anymore. The food is made fresh and tastes amazing. Beer is served in the large mugs that was commonplace 15 years ago and has dwindled away. Not here, everything is on par with the best places we have went to. The prices on the menu are fantastic and a family doesn't have to drop 100 just to have lunch. We absolutely will make the hike down there on a regular basis. Shocked that anyone would feel ripped off here. It's not a taco stand folks.

I've never felt more ripped off:We just spent $100 for delivery through GrubHub on this place... The hubby drives for Lift so the delivery didn't cost us anything...This was dinner for two. Beef Fajitas x 2, Chips & Queso, Salsa. The Fajitas: Well, they say the meat's marinated but it seems they forgot to add some sort of acid component to the marinade; lime juice, vinegar...Something! The meat was well done and the consistency of boot-leather. Also, they used bell peppers when they could have just as easily (and cheaply) used poblanos. Also, I ordered charro beans but got refried. The order was placed at 4pm. So I seriously doubt they were busy. Was the kitchen too busy watching World Cup to care about what they were serving?? Is the kitchen manager so focused on his bottom line that he can't think creatively about his sourcing?? The food quality and order accuracy beg these questions. Swing and a miss there! Moving on...Queso: Not much to say here... Except, that there was nothing going on in this serving of Baseball Stadium quality queso made with fake cheese or at the very best; Velveeta... Wow! (yet another swing and a miss.) Salsa: Tasted like Pace Picante Sauce!! Ouch! The consistency was slightly more loose than Pace's so maybe they watered it down to pad their profit margin? Who knows... I typically judge any Latin American restaurant, be it TexMex, MexMex, Salvadoreano, etc. - based on the quality of their salsa. So had I been a dine-in guest the experience would have been over after the first taste of that gawd-awful salsa. Will NEVER eat here again! THE END!

I've lived close by for a year. For some reason I hesitated giving this place a try. Maybe because the exterior doesn't look too inviting. I wish I tried it sooner. The food was fresh, tasty and nice lunch portion. It definitely exceeded my expectations. The service was polite and proficient. The restaurant was quiet, clean and what I'd expect from a small Mexican establishment. Nice lunch spot. I will return.

Our food came out piping hot! It was so fresh! The rice was fluffy and moist. The homemade flour tortillas were perfection. My husband got the Texas plate and was very satisfied. The staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

This is our go to local. The food is wonderful and they have carne guisada, which is hard to find. Note: it's most tender on Saturday and Sunday. Salsa is spicy so I love it.Only reason it's not five star is poor wine options and the four tortillas are not homemade. Service is always excellent. The owner is always there.
