Ling Wu is my go-to spot whenever I'm craving Asian cuisine, especially since it's within walking distance from my house. This place is always busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation, particularly for dinner. There are seating options indoors, outdoors, and at the bar, but the outdoor seating is truly a gem at night when the lanterns are lit. Now, onto the food! For starters, I tried the meat lettuce wraps and Szechuan spicy cucumber. I preferred the lettuce wraps, but I was still hungry, so I also ordered the lobster cheese puffs and they were easily my favorite dish! I even ordered a second round.Moving on to the entrées, I tried the scallion pancake, which was a bit soggy and not as crispy as it should be, making it my least favorite dish of the night. However, the rest of the dim sum menu made up for it, especially the chicken taro egg rolls, beef potstickers, and bao's all of which were phenomenal. I paired everything with a smoky Old Fashioned made with Japanese whisky, which was a fantastic touch. All in all, it was a great visit despite a few minor mishaps. I'll definitely be coming back, hopefully for dim sum brunch soon!

I loved Dim Sum brunch at this beautiful restaurant. While I do miss the traditional carts, the beautiful decor and excellent service made up for tradition. This is a bit fancier than I'm used to for dim sum, so it was perfect for a special occasion. The separate dining rooms provide privacy that our party appreciated. My favorite dishes were: the egg custard (creamy & flakey but not greasy), the soup dumplings, shrimp bar gaw, bbq pork bao, scallion pancake with curry, shrimp and pork shumai, and pineapple cakes. I was less enthusiastic about the sticky rice (I missed the leaves & lacked flavor), baked bbq pork buns (too sweet for me), and pecan shrimp (to mayonnaisey) I highly recommend the jasmine tea, and all the cocktails looked fabulous! Can't wait to return!

I recently visited this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by the vegan options, exceptional service, and delightful ambiance. The spinach dumplings, tofu with vegetables, and vegan cheesecake were all standout dishes. The cheesecake, in particular, was very beautifully plated, showcasing the chef's artistic talent. I believe I've found one of my new favorite spots for vegan cuisine in South Austin!Tip: If you are seated near the window during the day when the sun is at it's brightest between 12-4pm it can be a bit too sunny even with the shades down so I recommend visiting during sunset/nighttime. Additionally, I feel like their decor with all the lanterns would be best show cased then.Note to the management: It would be helpful to have the menus labeled with V for Vegan and VG for Vegetarian, so people with those dietary restrictions are not left wondering until the server comes over. Noting what options can be modified to be either Vegan or Vegetarian would be helpful as well! Compliments to the chef and thank you for the wonderfully creative vegan dishes and experience!

We have tried almost everything on the menu, and all are delicious. The atmosphere is a visual delight and the service is always excellent. I can't give a better review than what I offer for Ling Wu and all other associated restaurants. Highly recommend!

I was excited to try Ling Wu as I'd visited and love their sister restaurant Qi. Let's just say I prefer Qi and wouldn't go out of my way to visit Ling Wu. The service was very meh . The waitress brought water for the table spilled it and just left it I ended up cleaning the excess water myself as who wants a puddle of water on their table. I then ordered a martini, which is pretty specific but didn't taste as I know my martini should. I asked the waitress to check with the bartender and double check how the martini was made. Most would check and ask if I'd like them to remake it if it was wrong but nope, I digress - I wasn't in the mood to be that person so I kept it. We ordered the regular soup dumplings, the crawfish dumplings steamed , the lobster cheese balls and egg drop soup to start. How are dumplings not hot, seriously the flavor was there but they were cold. We kept them and moved on. I went with the Haka veggie noodles as I'd had them at Qi and my table mates both had shrimp dishes. The noodles were flavorful but again cold. Even my blanc de blanc bubbles was the incorrect temperature. I digress, could they possibly have had an off night - maybe - but for $300 and a restaurant that wasn't packed with patrons, you don't get a pass. It's a pass for me.

We were out for a day of running errands in a part of town we don't frequent much anymore, so we wanted to try something new. As usual, it had to be dog friendly, covered and heated patio (it's on the 50's today) and enough food choices to make my husband happy. We haven't had Dim Sum in a loooong time, so we ended up here - and I'm glad we did!Based upon reviews I ordered the Soup dumplings (hand's down our favorite!), and the pecan shrimp. Hubby ordered the Akaushi Beef Potsticker and the Crispy chicken dumplings. A lot of folks wrote reviews about the pecan shrimp, but here's my take. The shrimp was beautifully crisp, and the apples and pecans were a great compliment. However, I felt the aioli was just too rich and too much. The shrimp was swimming in it! I would have preferred some restraint, like 1/2 the amount. The soup dumplings were def the highlight and something I'd order over and over again. Of the other 2 dishes, we were split. I preferred the flavors in the Chicken Dumplings, but hubby thought the beef was more flavorful. Overall, service was great and the cocktails were creative and tasty. Will we go back? Yes, but I think next time we will try something from the dinner menu, and maybe 1 or 2 dim sum.

I have major food allergies and they adjusted some things so I could enjoy the delicious food. We sat at the bar. Don, our bartender was awesome. Everything we ordered was so good. Soy sauce is even GF.

We celebrated Chinese New Year for dinner at this festive delicious restaurant. The Dim Sum Shrimp Har Gow & Ling's Soup Dumpling rock the house. The Mei Choy Pork Belly is out of this world & no knife required. Ate my tasty greens with the Baby Gai with Shiitake Mushrooms. The dessert sherbet Cat was just awesome in details that my daughter enjoyed. The Opera Cake hit the spot for me with its delicate balance of ingredients. Well worth the premium price for the fine dining experience.

Very pretty interior. We were seated at a table for two so it was a bit cramped when all of our dishes to share came out. I thought we his restaurant would have a different menu than Lin downtown but it appears to be the exact same menu. The food was just as good but I was expecting to try new things. The pea shoots and sesame chicken was good. However the best part has to be the fried rice. It had very generous portions of meat and shrimp to rice ratio.

Absolutely fantastic, pricey but worth it. Hands down the best hot and sour soup of my life! Obviously don't miss the xiao long bao.
