Essentially an upscale barbecue spot. We were given complimentary mini-cornbreads that were pretty good. We had the sausage, brisket, and ribs. No complaints on the food as it was all pretty good with the brisket being my favorite. The service here is pretty good and everyone is helpful and friendly.

I wish I were in Austin longer. Lamberts is definitely a restaurant that deserves a second visit.Situated on a busy corner, in a brick building, one would not assume something so incredible stood behind their doors. A dark but nicely lit bar area and hostess station welcome you. The table our large party was shown to was in the far back, in the outdoor area. We were seated at a farmhouse table with chairs on one side and a long bench on the other. The entire back area was gorgeous and dimly lit. Large ceiling fans kept the air moving so we were comfortable the whole time.A few of us in our party showed up before the others, so drinks were ordered. I would highly recommend their Blazing Saddles and Westworld. Both of these drinks were fresh, not too sweet or too strong. They both paired well with the meal. After everyone arrived, we started ordering appetizers and meals. We were lucky to be able to sample a lot of the items from the menu. We started with Buttermilk Biscuits and Red Pepper Jelly, Spiced Gulf Prawns, Wedge Salad, and Crispy Boar Wings. The Crispy Bore Wings were a little disappointing. While the sauce was flavorful, there was hardly any meat on the tiny bones. For our meals, we dined on a few of the Three Meat Samplers, a burger, and Oak Smoked Pork Steaks. I decided on the Seared Aji Amarillo Shrimp. This dish was a generous portion of plump shrimp served on a shallow plate full of a fresh, buttery, and creamy corn. We also ended up ordering a side of the Prime Brisket. Everything was good, but the brisket was like nothing I have ever had. While just trying to lift the brisket off of the plate, the meat was falling apart. It was so moist and so delicious. I would definitely come back, just for this meat. I would highly recommend making a reservation as early as possible, as they get very busy. For larger groups over eight, you will have to make multiple reservations.

Had the pleasure of going with my work and they set up an amazing set menu for us that was well enjoyed by everyone. The oxtail ribs, fried pickles, queso, and the bruleed ribeye were all phenomal! Truly loved every bite I had and recommend to anyone looking for quality food in Austin and maybe don't have time to stop by one of the classic counter service bbq spots. I will dream about that steak until next time I'm back!!!

Food was pretty delicious - would highly recommend the queso appetizer (serves 3-4 easily) and the ribs. The jalapeño link was as spicy as expected, but we were surprised at how spicy the broccoli and coleslaw sides both were. I'd choose different sides next time. The service was quick and friendly. We had a reservation for 2, on a Thursday evening in January. It was busy, and we were seated upstairs close to the stage with live musicians playing. It was almost too loud to enjoy, but the band and singer were good. The lighting is dim (see photo) so bring your readers!

The food is tasty but perhaps not to the point that the combination of quality and portion size justifies the price. The chipotle queso with burnt ends was good but didn't really have any burnt ends in it (it had one small piece). The crispy wild boar ribs were great. The brisket was also great (though I would opt for the three meat sampler based on what our server told us about the portion size after the food was delivered to our table). Again--good food but not great. The environment was loud at a less crowded time. I wouldn't enjoy being here when it was busier.

Great ambience. Great service. Brisket is the bomb - must try! Jalapeños cheddar sausage was too salty for me, wish I would've chosen the all beef hotlink.

Loved the food and the customer service here. A very lovely restaurant in downtown Austin serving delicious food and drinks. Our waiter recommended the daily special salad and we loved it. Grilled bell peppers with I don't remember what but it was heavenly. The wedge salad was amazing so was the Mac and cheese. The brisket was perfectly cooked and the ribs were out of this world delicious. The restaurant is beautiful, has two stories and is located in a very historic building among the new huge builds. I love the charm of this place and the food. If you are ever in Austin don't hesitate to try this place out.

First off the smell that hits you when you enter is amazing... this place is legit bbq.. my brisket Sammy was crazy good and the pickles and jalapeño took it over the top. Waffle fries come with aioli sauce, my favorite. Definitely worth checking out! Loved it!!
