A friend told me about this place and she knows how much I enjoy Vietnamese food. I give it a try. They are having a soft open right now, with the official opening on January 2nd.I got the fried rice with beef, and some chicken broth. Both were excellent. I asked for 4 out of 5 for the spice level. It was great, and I like spicy food.Gilbert and Anna run the place, excellent hosts.This will be my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant.

I was so excited to try this place, but it was a fifty fifty experience..I ordered the wonton soup and I f*** I didn't like the big pieces of broccoli and carrots. I mean, they weren't even bite size.They were too big. The broth was okay. I felt like it was too salty.Or you could really taste the msg, not sure which one that was.The wonton we're delicious though.Then I ordered theShrimp rolls, it said fresh on the description. But the picture was that of a fried spring roll that threw me off and I really didn't get what I wanted because of that.So I was 50% satisfied and 50% dissatisfied, but I will definitely give it another shot. We'll try something else when I come in next time.The wonderful, warm, happy greeting I got. I absolutely loved when I walked in. The place is cute and clean.And the smell was so good.See you next time.Hopefully I'll have better luck.

My husband, son and I were so excited to try Lab C. The decor is so fun and everyone working there was smiling, pleasant and helpful. This review is painful to write because we wanted to love this experience.I ordered the crispy vegan egg rolls. My husband and son both ordered the shrimp and pork egg rolls to start. We all ordered hot Jasmine tea. Our server brought us one teapot and three cups.The egg rolls came out and we placed our orders. I wanted to try the fried rice. My husband ordered the pork vermicelli bowl with 3 spice and our son ordered the traditional noodle soup 4 spice with chicken. My husband and son didn't like their egg rolls. They had a rubbery consistency and the ground pork inside the roll looked very unappetizing. I was happy with my crispy egg rolls.Our food came out quickly. There isn't soy sauce on the table so I put a small dash of hoisin sauce on my rice, which was full of peas and carrots and gave it a taste. My rice crunched and tasted exactly like Trader Joe's frozen fried rice. I had my son take a bite to confirm as he's eaten countless bags of Trader Joe's rice. He agreed it tasted the same and the rice was indeed crunchy. I put my plate of rice to the side and concentrated on my egg rolls. The server came and asked me about my rice. I advised her that it was hard and I just could not eat it. My husband's pork was unseasoned and looked like it was seared and dumped over the vermicelli. Our son's noodle soup with chicken had zero spice and looked (and tasted) exactly like boiled chicken water with a few greens thrown in. This guy will pretty much eat anything so after three bites he's done. I believe one of the owners came to apologize about my rice. She told me she had a fresh pan of rice and offered to remake my plate. I asked if I could have it without the peas . She said no, they buy it that way. I thanked her and passed. When our bill came we noticed that the charge for my rice had been removed, which was very nice. The spice level 3 for husband and 4 for son's meals were not ordered correctly as the receipt shows level 1 which accounts for the lack of flavor. We were confused that our one pot of tea, which was very good, cost almost 9 dollars. All in all it was an expensive, disappointing venture.

I happen to stumble upon Lab C Kitchen randomly and it was great! From beginning to end the service was great and the food was even better! Before leaving we even got some free milk tea which I lovedddd! This brand new Vietnamese restaurant is definitely gonna be one of my new go-to spots to eat at :)

Headed to this place on a cold rainy day and it didn't disappoint! I had the combination fried rice place. The salad was wonderful and the chicken, pork, and shrimp were grilled to perfection. Substantial portion but didn't feel too heavy. I ordered a 1 on spice level which was ample for me. The waitstaff and Managment were nice and attentive. A welcome addition!

Fantastic food. The best pho i've ever had in San Marcos. The beef was super tender and flavorful broth. Lovely staffs. They said they will start running promos next week. Their seafood boil looks pretty bomb too. Will try that next time
