La SeaReinita is a hip new seafood place that brings Mexican seafood to southeast Austin. The servers were friendly and made sure we didn't need anything throughout the meal. You're served a shot of a really tasty caldo de camaron when you sit down. I could honestly eat an entire bowl of the stuff. We split the Botana del Callo Calichi (think a multi-seafood ceviche) and the Seareinas Tostada Trio. The seafood tasted really fresh and the flavors packed a great punch. Our mouths were tingling as we neared the end of our meal, so be prepared for some spiciness. The octopus in the botana was super tender which is always a worry when trying it at new places. My favorite of the tostadas was the aguachile verde. Delicious! This isn't the cheapest place, just a warning. For our two dishes and two drinks, we spent about $50 each after tip. However, I would love to come back and try more items based on the service and quality of the food.

When searching for excellent seafood inland (a challenging task in Austin) look no further than the newly minted La Seareinita so fresh and so clean on East Oltorf. Atmosphere is what we've come to expect from the Gabriela's group - warm, tropical, inviting, with a playful twist. My very favorite thing: a spicy housemade shot of veggie-laden tomato broth upon seating: bury me with it. Shrimp and fish were OK, but the real showstopper was the fresh-off-the-boat ceviche in a heaping whole-fish proportion. We couldn't stop popping chips & ceviche, the very best (guacamole too!) I've had this side of the border. Kimberly was so kind and helpful, old Austin service slowing things down just South of the city. Coming back for a giant tumbler of horchata, apparently by drive-thru next time!

Gabriela's sister restaurant is filling a void for seafood and quality dine in food on the southeast-side. The restaurant is decked out in vibrant hues of green and orange, custom neon signs paying homage to Cartel culture, and upbeat music breathing life into the space. Service was slow, but it was also patient, non-intrusive, and efficient- very clean! You will be created at your table with a shot of warm and spicy seafood broth. The menu is extensive and boasts some items from Gabriela's menu alongside Sinoloan classics and Louisiana-inspired dishes. Food portions seem to be big- the Tostada Trio could feed at least 2 for dinner. I tried to order guacamole with no onions but they said it wasn't possible, so that tells me it isn't fresh. It makes me wonder about the rest of it. I thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails- the Pina Swirl was my favorite! I'm looking forward to going back to try more!

This authentic Mexican seafood restaurant recently opened near my neighborhood and I'm so glad we checked it out! I loved the fact that when the waiter brought our cups of water, they also brought free cups of warm consomé (they literally looked like shots haha), which is a savory seafood broth that has a lingering spicy after-taste -- what a great way to kick off the dining experience! The ambience felt like a sports bar because there were multiple TVs hung up around the restaurant airing the current South American soccer cup while a live DJ was also playing music simultaneously! The seafood was super fresh with tons of flavor, and be prepared for their humongous portion sizes -- definitely worth the price you pay! I'll for sure be returning to try out some of their other seafood dishes, but the tostadas (get the trio if you want to try out multiple flavors) and choriqueso appetizer are a MUST! Service was quick and food came out within 15 minutes of ordering! Overall, I'd rate this place a 4.5/5 if I could.

I've never been so excited then so quickly disappointed in a resturaunt. I went at 11:30 for lunch the week after it opened - and found out that the Resturaunt doesn't open until noon(?!?). But I love Gabriela's so I waited until they opened the door. The interior ambiance was simple and functional - you could tell it used to be a Whataburger. The menu had several Mexican inspired seafood dishes, which I was looking forward to tasting, until then the music came on. The volume was blaring, so loud I could not have a conversation with my partner. The sound was echoing off all the hard surfaces, so loud it was painful,I asked the server if they could turn down the volume and the server said "*** ***** **** *****". "WHAT?!?! I replied. "THE MANAGER SAID THAT THE MUSIC NEEDS TO BE LOUD!""BUT WHY SOOO LOUD??" "DUNNO, BUT I CANT TURN IT DOWN"Anyway, I there was no way I could enjoy the meal, so I left. There are a lot of places in Austin that are interested in providing a pleasant dining experience - so I doubt I'll ever be back.

New to the neighborhood at East Oltorf and Burleson (former Whataburger). This is a great spot with super-fresh seafood and great drinks. Very reasonably-priced. Loved the shrimp ceviche in Sinaloan sauce. Check it out!

This is my second visit! Again, I got the Mexican martini, and yes, it comes with a shaker, very nice! Delicious and refreshing. My first visit I got the quesadillas and they were excellent. I also tried the chips and salsa which blew my mind! The chips are incredibly buttery crispy fresh delicious, but it's the salsa that stole the show. Chunky tomato based salsa with lots of cilantro and chopped onions, medium hot, but packing so much flavor. I would come here just for chips salsa and a drink and I would be happy. I got a shrimp and octopus cocktail, with two beef fajita tacos, à la la cart; OMG! These tacos were so good! Served on corn tortillas with Mexican white cheese and an amazing creamy dressing and vegetables. Absolutely blew me away! I definitely will be coming back here on a regular basis. Next time I want to try the seafood soup, they give you a small sample when you walk in ; a delicious fiery red broth, cannot wait to try it!

Every dish we ordered was delicious, and as a skeptical seafood orderer, everything seemed so fresh. As non-Spanish speakers, my partner and I had difficulty ordering food. My partner said that she wanted her drink without alcohol which costs extra. But when the server came with our drinks, she said "con tequila". And we asked to double check "Oh, there's alcohol in it?" But the server took it back and went to get another server who can speak english and insisted we ordered it with alcohol. Again we were fine just accepting it and paying for the added alcohol because we didn't want to make a big deal out of nothing. But the way our server reacted and still charged us for the alcohol after giving us a new one without alcohol and completely avoiding us the rest of our meal left us uncomfortable. The server who helped translate took over our table and thankfully she seemed to understand that we did not mean to be rude at all and were truly just struggling with the language barrier. Again the food was delicious, but I think we won't be visiting often until our Spanish improves.
