Great Mexican bakery. The empanadas here are great - not too bready like they are at some other spots. My go to is 'de camote' but they're all great. Getting a breakfast plate here has been on my to-do list - have been putting that off for too long.

Cajeta Empanadas that's all you need to know. I love this small unassuming South East Austin bakery. Its got everything you could possibly want. The breakfast tacos are good all of the baked good rock the house. I cant think of single reason not to stop in here if you are close.Don't skip La Reyna its the shit.

the food was so good and for a great price! i came in the morning and got 2 egg cheese and potato tacos, a pineapple and cheese pastry and a topo chico. It was a little bit of a wait for the tacos but there was only one person working and they were clearly made fresh so i didn't mind. Love supporting small neighborhood businesses and this place is 100% worth it

This bakery is my go to as it's in my neighborhood and very affordable. The family who runs it is great and they always have a nice variety of Mexican baked good.

Went looking for conchas and found people eating tacos and menudo. We got a delicious concha and I ordered caldo. i paid a little over $8. The caldo never arrived. The staff was nowhere to be found. After about 30 minutes we left. $8 for a concha. Oh well.

This shop is small and had one person working the counter at the time. I had the bean and cheese nachos, which were great on their own. Each chip was half of a corn tortilla with a great crunch, generous spread of refried beans, and a lot of cheese. I was happy that it came with a little guacamole, tomato, and lettuce. These went great with the green and the red salsas. I also got an al pastor taco, but it wasn't sliced from a trompo. The meat was flavor like al pastor pork and it was tender and went well with the red salsa.I was unhappy with the cajeta empanada. It was the worst Mexican bakery item I've ever had because it was all dried up. The cajeta was hard and crunchy instead of creamy. It was too late for me to change my order once I was back home eating.

I love Mexican pastry but I have had bad luck with Mexican bakeries in Austin.La Reyna is no exception.*Went inside. The place was empty. The Mexican pastry looked fantastic.I ordered an ojo de buey.It had a really bad aftertaste.I finished it ...but I could see why La Reyna did not have a million customers waiting in line.*I have had comparable experiences with Mom and Pop Mexi-bakeries both in North and South Austin.San Antonio we ain't.*So what should you do if you just gotta have a bandera and nothing else will do?Go to Fiesta on I-35.Basically if Fiesta makes something itself in-house, its good. That applies to the bakery definitely - and applies with triple weight to their cremas and marinated meats.Someday we will get a Mom and Pop bakery that makes really good Mexican pastries. When that happens, I will buy a house next door.

I have lived down the street from this gem for over a year and just recently visited. I am so glad I did! We ordered 4 breakfast tacos and 3 conchas all for under $10. The conchas were huge and super soft! Nothing like HEB ones and the tacos were super stuffed and filling. Definitely will be returning!

While I hate to leave bad reviews, my experience here was unlike any place I have been. While it is much deserving of a one star experience in will keep it at 2 so hopefully the owner can learn and improve and this won't hurt his rating as much. I came in to the line where I was initially cut (whatever I had time I didn't care too much), I eventually placed my order for two breakfast tacos on corn tortillas. While everyone infront and behind me was served first I finally received my tacos 30 minutes later. While I was annoyed I felt as though the wait should be worth it. I drive 10 minutes home to enjoy the tacos with my dog when once I opened them up I revived one normal taco and another of just flour tortillas. The one taco that I paid $8 for contained dry burnt meat and was not even a breakfast taco. I was hoping to find a local place I could bring pastries and tacos and such to my office the following week but from this disappointing experience I will not be returning
