Best fajitas I've ever had!! We had a reservation which was helpful because the people checking-in in front of us couldn't be seated at a table without a reservation. They sat us right away and service was great the entire night (including our food and drinks arriving so quickly!) I ordered from their Dry January drinks menu and the Mojito Seco was incredible! I loved the chips and salsas that were brought out. The main highlight was the fajitas (and the fresh flour tortillas that came with it). Both the chicken and the steak were so flavorful and a taste I've never had before. The only thing I didn't love was the rice. As far as ambiance, I liked the music and even Shazamed a song. It was pretty dark at night but still enjoyable.Excited to go back to try their other fajitas!

OKAY birthday dinner for my lil bro who is not so lil anymore.... At the beautiful Proper hotel in downtown Austin. We didn't wanna risk street parking and so we did valet parking for 26$ and they were so sweet and fast when giving us back the car.we got a inside table and the place is def small but the vibes were it! views of the city, dim lighting and was a packed house to it was a rad bit loud but enough u cant hear other peoples convos!!! We all got drinks i got two margaritas spicy and clásico and mama they were strong......... two was def enough, my bro got to do some wine testing b4 making his decision and got this fabulous red wine. my mother got the strawberry mocktail and it was basically like a mixed agua fresca so yummy!!! We did the queso fundido for the appetizer and wasn't the best but the fresh flour tortillas really made it just melt in my mouth. do recommend! the chips and in house salsas were good the verde was the best but i do wish as a latino it was a bit more spicier!!! GIVE ME THE HEAT!!!! My mom got the shrimp pastor tacos and she ate them all up no crumbs were left ! i wanted a bite but sadly she said sorry get ur own.... :(my bro got the redfish plate and he did really enjoy it, was a place he recommended to go try and well it was his second time getting the fish and loves it just enough to get u full but def not enough for left overs.i got the SIZZLING chicken fajitas that came with rice and beans and pico some guacamole salsa and mixed tortillas... for 34$ seemed like more worth it if the other plates were like 27$ def a experience place but we spent like 300$ on everything with tip! always tip ur waiters plsssss !!!! the views were cute and a bit overpriced.... maybe come on a weekday date night if u want a more quiet evening vs how i did a Saturday night. ooo and we got bday churros for him and i loved them but my mom and bro thought they needed more flavor. We are harsh when it comes to our heritage food!

We dined in for Sunday brunch and had an excellent experience overall. Nestled on the 5th floor of the gorgeous Austin Proper Hotel next to the pool, service was attentive, interior was cozy, and the chips and salsa were the star of the show.Because it's a downtown hotel restaurant, it's quite pricy. We're talking $5+ fountain drinks or ice tea with no refills, $20+ cocktails, $12 "wellness" juices, etc. They didn't even have regular drip coffee - just a $6 Americano. There also is a 4% "wellness fee" surcharge per check. The food is good, but it didn't blow me away - especially for the price tag. The meat was well-marinated and flavorful and the tortillas were decent. They also surprised us with complimentary churros for dessert since my reservation had noted we were celebrating an anniversary! Overall, it was worth experiencing at least once.QUICK FACTS:- Parking? Hotel valet is $25 and they don't validate, so you're better off with garage parking or street parking around downtown! If you go on Sunday, street parking is free!- Reservations? Yes, recommended but not required.- Location? 5th floor in Austin Proper Hotel, right when you step off of the elevator.FOOD RATINGS:- [Complimentary] Chips and salsas (5/5): The chips are thick and crisp and perfectly salted. So good! My favorite kind. Fresh and hot. The 2 salsas are so yummy, especially the chunky green avocado salsa. - Brunch fajitas (4/5): Your choice of steak, chicken, pastor, or shrimp, plus eggs your way, melty cheese, potatoes, and rice and beans! Meat was well marinated and flavorful, but a small portion compared to everything else, which was basic. I hardly even touched the potatoes since I ate the rice and beans instead. Tortillas are fluffy and fresh! - Churros (4/5): These were delicious! Crunchy but soft and fluffy on the inside. Perfectly cinnamon sugared, with a simple chocolate sauce on the side.

Outstanding service and delicious Mexican food. We all enjoyed our meal tonight. Quality and fresh food from start to end. Favorites were queso fundido and soya pineapple rib eye fajitas and all the desserts! That green avocado sauce that came with the chips were amazing. It's a beautiful restaurant. Our server Ally and the staff were superb! They took care of us really well. Thank you all! We will definitely dine here again.

Amazing! Found this place based on its reviews and went with my team and it was so good. Their tortillas are homemade and we had their fajitas, queso fundido, ceviche, crab tostadas, a few drinks and everything was amazing, especially service. They were patient as people trickled in, since that's always hard to gauge with co-workers so we really appreciated it! The quatro leche and churros were spectacular!!!

This place is truly a little hidden gem in Downtown Austin. Located right inside Austin Proper on the 5th floor. It is beautifully decorated and an amazing space. I loved the views as well. We had an excellent server and I was pleased with the level of service. The chips and salsa with guacamole they bring out is so good. The tortilla chips are really crispy and full of flavor. I got the Alberto beer they have on tap which was really great. And the Watermelon margarita that was fantastic. We started with the ceviche 6/10. It was the only low point in the meal. It was a minimal plate that was drowned in the coconut sauce and only a few thinly sliced shrimps. For starters we went with the lobster quesadillas 10/10 and the asada fajitas 10/10. The fajitas were so tender and full of flavor. I was blown away. All in all this was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it!

My husband suprised me with a visit to the Proper Hotel because he knows how much of a fan I am of Kelly Wearstler's work (interior designer of Proper hotels). La Piscina was the cherry on top of our little day trip. The food, interior decor, and staff were absolutely amazing!! I think my beef tacos were some of the best I've ever had. My husband had a lobster quesadilla. Oysters were so good too. Overall 100/10 for me!

It's hard to find a restaurant that does everything well but La Piscina has it all: beautiful ambiance, friendly service, unique cocktails and fresh flavorful food. As a group of 4 we got: el clasico margarita, mariposa, madre tierra, queso fundido, chicken/shrimp fajitas, and the tres lechesWhile I do think the cocktails were pricey, the mariposa was a group favorite and the presentation was beautiful. The fajitas were plenty for 2 people to share, and the sizzling cheese was my favorite part. The tres leches was light and airy and melted in your mouth. Overall, I loved La Piscina and it easily became one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. I can't wait to be back!

The food is oh so good but the ambiance is my favorite thing about this restaurant! The aesthetic is fun but chic and so so classy all at the same time. The designer nailed it. This is the perf spot for a celebratory dinner of any kind. You can't go wrong sitting inside or out, but I would say the patio is my favorite part of this restaurant. We ordered the pineapple & steak fajitas which were cooked to perfection. I feel like the sides that came out with it were well thought out and more then what you would typically get with standard fajitas. I love that the cheese is served melted... but can you go wrong with cheese ever!?! We added bacon wrapped shrimp which is worth it as well. Ceviche was fresh. Oysters are not my thing but they were done well. I mean " La pascina" does mean fish so you have to try some of the seafood, right? Our server was super attentive and we never had to wait for another marg or tortillas (so important lol) My only TINY complaint would be the seating arrangement was...a little silly. We were the only ones in the entire restaurant and got seated at arguably the worst table in the restaurant.. and against a cement pole. One of the waiters quickly moved us which was nice. Half way through dinner the host sat the ONLY other table right next to us. Literally we could touch them. Whenever our waiter would come to serve us they would bump into the table bc we were so close. It just doesn't make sense when every other table in the entire restaurant was open. I get that it doesn't speak for the restaurant overall but just thought it was worth noting. At a cheaper restaurant it wouldn't bother me but as a higher-end Mexican restaurant details like that matter more imo.

My new favorite Tex-Mex/ Mexican spot! First off, the aesthetic and decor of the restaurant is to die for! There is even a pool to lounge by if you're still wanting to enjoy the last of summer. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. There are cacti on every table, and boho decor all throughout the space. When I walked in, I was worried that La Piscina was another one of those Instagrammable restaurants with low quality food. However, I was very mistaken! The food was amazing. The sizzling fajita trays are so big and definitely enough for two. We got the chicken and beef fajitas, which comes with cheese, bell peppers, and a jalapeno. The cheese was so delicious with the fajitas and added just the right touch. For sides, it comes with tortillas, rice, beans, sour cream, pico de gallo, and salsa. Every individual aspect of the meal was great, which is a hard thing for a restaurant to do. Everything had great flavor, was seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. The fajitas were cooked to a perfect medium, and they were the most tender I have ever had. They are definitely up there for best fajitas. They also provide free chips and salsa, and the chips are large and perfectly salted. The service is great. The waiters are sweet and ready to provide recommendations. They are attentive, and they make sure you are taken care of. There is no parking on site. They do not validate valet, so I would recommend street parking a few streets down for like $2. The walk is not bad. 10/10 recommend this spot for lunch or even a dinner out with friends. It is a great spot that you don't want to miss!
