La Marea Restaurant & Seafood

I happened to come here waiting for my car to be towed. It has a nice atmosphere. There weren't a lot of people inside but the servers were nice and welcoming. I got seated and they told me what kind of food they have-Mexican, seafood, Tex-Mex. The server doesn't speak English but I know a little Spanish :) and that doesn't stop me from eating great food. The cook (I believe) does. I got the grilled shrimp (Camarones grill) and they provided me with chips and salsa to start with (no extra charge). This was nice because in other countries (such as Spain, where I recently traveled to), they would charge extra for the chips/bread/water. The food was warm and delicious-I especially love the guacamole and onions they have in the mixture! Spanish music was playing in the background and there was a show on the TV screens. Cute chairs-the tables are kind of small, but they fit all my food! If more people came and filled the restaurant, it would be a party!! I definitely want to come back and try more of the food!

I'm so curious to see what this place is like at night or on a weekend because for lunch it's kind of a drag. Loving the bright colors throughout, but there was no music playing so you had to eat in silence and take in the natural ambiance which is just as awkward as you'd imagine.So, atmosphere, meh... food... well, it did the job. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and the chicken was cooked and seasoned nicely! Beans were fine as well as the rice. I don't think I'd be running back anytime soon, but it does it's job if you're just looking for some basic Mexican food to go down.

I only had the menudo, but it was HUGE and delicious!! And they were very generous with the amount of tripe! My bf had the chile relleno, and he loved it so much he cleaned the plate. Service was above and beyond, and we were in a group of 9, so we weren't the easiest table to handle. Would come again just for the menudo and to try other dishes!

Very cute inside! It's like you're under the sea. My granddaughter loved it. It's comfortable, homey not immaculate or pretentious. Speaking Spanish would help but didn't seem necessary. I ordered enchiladas and tortilla soup. It was very good and the wait was not long for homemade food. It did have a full bar. This is definitely a yummy local restaurant with flair not to be scared of if you are in the area and not looking for a chain place.

The music was really loud, but I requested the employee to turn it down. Everything was fine to me. I really love the chips and salsa. I think the tacos are okay, but I would love a bit of sweetness to my Al Pastor like adding pineapples to it. Other than that, service are fine to me.

The food is bland and overcooked. Table service was not good because the waitresses can barely speak English. The restaurant ambiance is lacking: worn out seating, tired decorations, and poor lighting. It's the kind of restaurant you order from once and never again!

Extra dry fried tilapia.All veggies and fries from Sam's. Large vuelve a la vida cocktail mostly shrimp and few octopus, 3 oysters at bottom of cocktail tasteless.Order made to go.Must throw away half of the food or more.Rancid crackers .By the way.We order to go because the crying, drunk singers wannabe, they have a loud karaoke. Ripped seats, dirty windows , Always thrilled to try new places.If I love it, I become a regular.If they fail I never set a foot again. Love sea food, just not this one

Was my first time this last Thursday and now is my last time in this place,my wife and me ordered a "molcajete for two" they called "cielo,mar y Tierra " but all the Mets was sooo dry and we ordered two micheladas and we pay $103:99 and in all place just one server and is why I don't recommend this place is expensive and no good food and no good service and was sooo warm in the dine room

Worse service ever !! Plus to top it off they charge a 15% service fee to use a debit card and don't even give u the option or tell u about it!! Asked for a glass of water and got it but than when it was time for a refill they brought a bottle water and charge $2 for the water smh ..food was decent but beans were cold and ribs were burnt ! Never ever goin back there again!

Bad service. The tortillas were awful. They were cooked in the microwave. Our server never once checked on us. The price for the food is so not worth it. We were treated rudely. You can tell that the servers don't care about their job. It used to be a great place but over time the place has gone downhill.
