Seeing the illustrious Shannon B. create a bookmark for the somewhat nondescript La Fogata Tacos trailer on a hot August morning piqued my interest. My checkin history is littered with plenty of places with 'Taco' in the name. I've made more runs to the border than I'm prepared to admit. So I thought, what the heck!To repay Shannon for planting that seed, I asked if she would have a chance to catch lunch there. So, off we went to Burnet, just south of 183, in front of the self-service carwash on the east side of the road. Being a cheapskate at heart, I couldn't pass up a chance for a cheap breakfast taco. She serves them all day, but they go up by like a quarter at noon. An uninspiring chorizo and egg taco at a sit-down 'tacqueria' the day before left me with a craving. So I order her chorizo (so full of flavor it put the previous day's version to shame), as well as a Sope (which I was surprised to find out does NOT actually mean "soup", and is, in fact like a deep-dish chalupa). Shannon orders the Enchiladas Potosinas, which don't at all look like what we usually think of as enchiladas. Instead, I believe it roughly translates to "These taste so good, how can there be so many of them on my plate for such a good price?!?!" I took my drink choice even more old school: Jarritos de Piña, por favor! All in all, great eats all the way around. The lady who runs the truck seems genuinely concerned that we enjoyed our meal there. Only one picnic table, so more a a place to pick up from than dine at. Shannon assures me the salsas were good, but I already had plenty of spicy chicharron goodness on my sope. We didn't see a place to recycle, so we took our empties with us, pleased with the meal we had at La Fogata Tacos.

I was leaving my Vet's office and I noticed this taco trailer in the next parking lot in front of a self serve car wash. I walk over, peruse the menu. They have an extensive offering of breakfast tacos for $1.25/each in the morning and $1.50/each after noon. I order 2 tacos, 1 - Carnitas and 1 - Al Pastor, both on Corn. The rest of the tacos are between $1.75 and $2.50 and they also have some other Mexican dishes. Two tacos and $3.75 later I leave with my delectable morsels of heaven complete with onions and light cilantro. They are wrapped in foil in a brown paper bag.Driving home with the dogs, I could not resist the smell, nor could the dogs as they were fixated on every bite I took. The carnitas were nice, tender and juicy. They had a nice seasoning and were pretty impressive. The Al Pastor was also good. It had a nice red color. The pork was not as moist as in the carnitas, but I am not certain Al Pastor is a braised meat like carnitas. The seasoning was flavorful. The corn tortillas held up (a big plus for me). Needless to say, they did not last long. And they were mine, all mine. So sorry to the pups. She gave me salsa, but I never ever opened it. They really didn't need it either. It is one thing to drive and eat tacos, it is another with sauce. Sauce which usually ends up on my shirt. La Fogata has great tacos and they are perfectly priced. I know I will be stopping by next time I am in the hood.

I love La Fogata!! I've followed this food truck around 4 different locations over the past several years. Every time she moves my heart sinks and I start searching the Burnet Rd area until the glorious day I find her again. I say "her" because there is one woman who works six days a week (closed Sundays). She is so kind and attentive, and a big part of the reason I'm so dedicated to this taco truck. The food is delicious. I've gotten the quesdillas, burrito, gordita, sope, torta, and various breakfast tacos, and have never been disappointed. It's made to order and fresh! Good homemade salsas, too. I'd recommend La Fogata to anyone who wants good Mexican food at a reasonable price!

My first food truck since I have recently been inundated with the trend (just moved from Atlanta, where food carts/stands/trucks are illegal)!! And it was a goodie. From other reviews, it appears prices have gone up a bit since. After noon you pay $1.50 per breakfast taco and $0.25 for any # of ingredients over 2. I love the chorizo here since it has lots of flavor and just enough spice for me. Eggs are definitely fresh, none of that ladled watery yellow goop. Green and red salsas available, but both were way too spicy for me. The BF enjoyed them though.Whilst I love breakfast tacos and these were solid, the chicken carnita on a flour tortilla with everything (lettuce, tomato, etc.) really impressed me with its flavor. I think it was $2.75.We've been two days in a row now -- it's definitely become one of our go-to places when we wake up late but crave breakfast tacos.

My two favorite words: delicious and cheap! The green salsa is great as well! Everything is made to order by the sweet lady who owns the truck. My fiancé and I were filled for $11!

Please, do not come here. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm and I wish I didn't. The first response I got was "Are you busy?" Then proceeded by "I have a big order, are you busy?" What kind of greeting is that?I didn't mind waiting, but when I asked for how long I got no response. When she asked for my order, I was already ready to leave. I had no idea how long I would wait for her "big order ".I gave her my order and waited 5 minutes. When I looked inside the cart I saw the lady chillin on her phone with no sign of helping the 5 other people in line. I've had enough. I don't care how good or bad the food was; it wasn't worth it. I don't want to support this type of rude establishment.Do yourself a favor, there are a ton of taco places in town, some down the street, taco deli, taco flats, and I've reviewed many on yelp. Let LA Fogata mistreat someone else.

You know that eating food from trailers is all trendy now, but you should also know that taco trailers started all that shit years ago. La Fogata is my new fave of these ol' skool Roach Coaches. Parked right across the calle from mi casa, La Fogata can't get any more convenient for myself, or the denizens of Woodchase. Unless they wake me up with a tray of steaming tacos on my bed. (wouldn't that be nice?)But they didn't stop there with getting me hooked. No. They appealed to my wallet as well.. How much is a tasty two-topping taco with tongue-torching salsa? One dollar. Migas taco? One dollar! Now *that* is a bargain for me. The Migas is my fave. All that fresh chopped jalapeno, mixed with the salsa verde, lights me up like a Christmas tree. My guero forehead beads with sweat in less than 2 seconds from the first bite! The service is always friendly, and of course, bilingual. I don't know how the nice lady that takes orders stays upbeat in a trailer the size of a walk-in closet, but she does. The only thing that I can't get with is their hours of operation. They have evening hours some days and morning hours some days, and some days with both, but I haven't cracked the pattern yet. I'll update you if I do. So the next time you're in 78757, and you see the little trailer at the Sparkling Brite Car Wash next to the Gas Pipe, and they happen to be open, stop in and grab a taco or three.. It's a great alternative to the no-customer-service-havin Taco Cabana a block away.

Amazing. She makes your breakfast tacos to order; I imagine she makes everything to order. They are much better, much larger, and much less expensive than the place next door ($1.50 for migas! MIGAS!) She takes call-in orders. I have been considering gifting my colleagues with some of her tacos on a weekday for brownie points. She only takes cash.Next time you're considering fighting the line at TacoDeli come here instead.

An O.G. not some sad biter like all the trendy trailers. This ish is beast Yo. She got like mad tacos in this piece! Plus I can wash the ride before I go all crazy on my tacos. Maybe I should wash it afterwards cuz I straight murder those suckers without regard to feelings.Plus, boo gave up them digits with the quickness and she lets me call ahead with my order! She doesn't take American express, or visa discover or any of that plastic. Her breakfast tacos go hard! Not some weak skimpy portion either she packs those suckers. I disagree with the person that didn't like the Al Pastor, I enjoy it.

My favorite food truck in north Austin. I've had everything on the menu, twice, and it's all amazing. Can't recommend this gem enough.
