My goodness, this place is incredible! From the really interesting mural on the wall (it's made from pieces of Mexican billboards and touched up regularly from the artist, a local from Austin), to the food, to the tequila, to the very informed and chill waiter - nothing fell short. Here are a few tips I want to share to make your experience top notch. 1.) Get the chicken tacos. You get three and they are small and perfectly Devine with homemade corn tortillas. We had them as an appetizer. It's a must do!!2.) If you are into tequila, take a look at the epic list and discuss with your wait staff. The staff get educated regularly on different ones. I asked our guy to chose one for me - it was fully women owned and made. Omg - Devine! I sipped it over ice for dessert. Was so smooth and a perfect end to my meal.3.) We don't like super spicy food so we opted for the chicken dish and ordered green beans as the side. You cut the chicken and use tortillas to made little tacos. We clearly missed that if it was written on the menu. There's fresh cilantro and onion which you can fold in. We also accidentally got the corn dish which we happily accepted and added to the tacos. The big differentiator here was the waiter. He properly informed us of every dish we inquired about. We avoided a few spicy land mines as a result and landed the "perfectly selected food plane"! We were recommended this place by a friend who lived in Austin. Take the locals recommendation! Yum yum yum!

Great service, delicious food, eclectic ambiance! We will definitely return to this gem . We were looking for a brunch option and I stumbled upon this restaurant on open door (positive reviews). I decided to try our luck since I lot of the negative reviews were from large parties. We ate: 1. Queso Flameado: An interesting twist on queso with corn tortilla with Black beans. The dish was very cheesy with very little interest to my taste buds. 2. Huevos Rancheros: Hubby really loved this dish. He ordered the eggs over hard instead of how the dish comes (over easy). 3. Churro Waffle: This was my dish and for the sweet tooth in your party. Very crunchy but soft, while sweet it wasn't too sweet. I didn't use too much of the jam because it wasn't needed. I will definitely order this again! 4. Pan de Platano: Also a hubby favorite and an inspiration for him to workout his own recipe when we return home. I did take a bite and it was moist, tasty and perfect level of sweetness. We drank: Agua fresca pineapple mint, Jamaica, and Mexican coke. The pineapple was more minty than pineapple. I ordered a Jamaica after or hibiscus drink which was refreshing. The Mexican coke is not as sweet as the American coke which was perfect. Everything was delicious! My only complaint is the queso had too much oil at the bottom for my taste. It's not your traditional Mexican queso sauce. The taste was a pleasant surprise but would probably not order next time. Yes, there will definitely be a next time.

I was so pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. I wasn't expecting much but the space was so nice and the food was delicious. The Alma Blanca drink was so so good (habanero-infused blanco, corn, ginger liqueur, pineapple, lemon), possibly one of my favorite tequila based cocktails I've had so far. LOOOOOVED the esquites, possibly some of the best I've had, loved how smoky it was but was also perfectly balanced (not too much mayo). The hongos was one of the best oyster mushroom based dishes I've had, perfectly cooked. The way the mushrooms were cooked kind of reminded me of cafe Chelsea (crispy on the edges, tender overall), and the black beans and chimichurri that it was served with were perfect. The huarache de huitlacoche was fine but I probably wouldn't get it again, nothing special. Churros were good!

Popular restaurant and they were nice enough to get us in. Tried the queso, which was authentic and excellent. The carne asada tacos were good. Excellent margaritas. The people were nice but the service was a little slow and it's quite expensive. I think this place is better for happy hour or going to the bar with some appetizers rather than going for a meal.

I visited this spot with a friend who highly recommended it, as I'm always on the hunt for great Mexican food. The ambiance was beautiful, and the service was attentive. The plates are tapas-style, perfect for sharing. We tried three dishes: Esquites, Huarache de Huitlacoche, and Enfrijoladas. The Esquites were a delightful mix of sweet, tangy, and spicy--always a favorite. The Huarache de Huitlacoche, essentially a Mexican flatbread pizza, could have used a crispier base and bolder flavors overall. The Enfrijoladas, on the other hand, were fantastic, especially the sauce.I'd definitely return to explore more of their menu!

Went to La Condesa for a quick drink and appetizer and had the best experience. Our server Forest took the time to break down the menu and made us so excited to try it. We had margaritas, esquites, and the guacamole and we loved all three. We will definitely be back!
