upscale classy japanese restaurants that serves a variety of sushi including rolls, nigiri, sashimi and other classic japanese dishes. i tried the spooky roll which had delicious spicy tuna! my friend tried the hand box bbq eel and thought i was just a normal roll so definitely not worth the extreme price. overall, this place is very overpriced and the food will taste good but not worth it.the service was friendly and the food came out fast, while the wait for the actually table was pretty long.

Just realized I've been going here since they opened in 2011. This is truly an Austin classic and there used to be more Japanese run sushi places and am so glad this place continues that tradition. They've streamlined the menu since I was last here. I don't think they offer liquor based cocktails either just sake, beer, and wine. They've focused on their sushi menu and they still have their classics on the menu.I was lucky they had their tsukji market special that 3 nigiri with fish flown from the market. Very unique and they each had toppings and sauces to accentuate the fish - definitely no need for added soy or wasabi. I also ordered the mobo tofu or ma po tofu which is hearty. It's a Chinese dish adapted in a Japanese style so more on the sweeter side but to me it's comforting and it had lots of soft tofu too. It was quite filling and warming for cool fall day. These entrees dont come with rice but you can add the Kome set which has miso soup, Japanese pickles, and a generous scoop of rice. To end my meal I had a piece of Japanese uni served nigiri style. Japanese nigiri isn't always available - you normally find the California one in town. It was such a special treat and sweet like the sea. The portion was also generous.Service is great here and they check on you often when needed. As for ambiance - it's still the same kitschy Japanese pop art. Love it.

Great options for sushi lunch! My friend and I came around 1 pm to have lunch and this place was busy! Service and food were quick and the interior is so cute - great decor! I got the sushi lunch - came with 5 nigiri pieces and a lunch roll and a miso soup - I got the crunchy dynamite which is like a spicy tuna roll for $22 A great deal honestly!! The nigiri was great and the spicy tuna roll was pretty good too. My friend and I almost split the karaage - amazing appetizer! Definitely get this and extra sauce lol

I'm AMAZED! Friendly and nice staff, quick to get seated and most importantly, really tasty food with great quality. My husband and I got seated at the bar (our favorite spot!) immediately when arrived on a Thursday evening. The staff was very attentive and helpful, the vibe was cozy and fun. Parking was easy. This is going to be our favorite place for evening dates from now on.

Kome was once a go-to spot for sushi, but with so many new options in Austin and nearby, it doesn't quite stand out like it used to. We visited on a Saturday, and the wait for a table was long - not unexpected, but then waiting quite a while for our food after sitting down was a bit much.That said, some of the rolls still hit the mark. The Texas Surf N Turf and Superfly rolls remain favorites and are still packed with great flavor. If you're willing to wait, Kome still offers some enjoyable sushi, but Austin now has fresher and more exciting options that are hard to ignore.

Not sure what went wrong but we decided to try this place out after reading such great reviews but we left very disappointed. The staff and service was great. However, we ordered nigiri which is our favorite. And noticed that both the fish and rice were extremely dry and unflavorful. The rice tasted stale and the fish itself did not taste very fresh which was concerning. I love the layout of the space and the staff, just wish the sushi was of a higher quality.

This was some of the best sushi I've ever had in my life! My friend and I were in the area and were in the mood for some sushi, so we went on yelp and landed on Komé. Once seated, we decided to try a little of everything on the menu. I regret nothing, not even the stomach ache, from eating too much, afterwards. The food was incredible, the service was amazing, the ambiance was top tier. Will definitely be visiting again, highly recommend to anyone who's craving some good sushi/ Japanese food!!
