Everyone should come to KAPATAD! This is an amazing Filipino restaurant! This place is very authentic, homey, traditional Filipino food, the service is amazing, and everyone is very welcoming! This place made my wife and I feel right at home! The feeling of nostalgia going home after school eating with your siblings while hearing your parents and grandparents talk in Tagalog and some kind of version of a karaoke music Thank you for coming to Austin KAPATAD we'll definitely be coming back again and again!

I miss Filipino food so much, and this place hit the spot. Lol, I even got my side of vinegar with my rice. We ordered the lumpia, kawali (crispy pork), and pancit. If you've never had Filipino food I would recommend ordering these items as your gateway. The lumpia was fresh and crispy. The pork belly was perfection, use the sauce they give you for the perfect combo for your tastebuds. The pancit was filled with fresh veggies- if they have palobok next time, I'm trying that . Also, for the lumpia and pork you get a side of rice or fried rice. I recommend getting the fried rice. All the servers were really nice, but the owner went above and beyond to inform us about their rotating dishes. I was really craving palobok, breakfast food, and kare kare with oxtail. I'll definitely be coming here again.

Authentic Filipino food in a cozy-sit down location in far west. Went with a group of friends and our server was really helpful, friendly, and gave plenty of recommendations for those of us who hadn't eaten there before. The place was semi-busy with 3-4 tables occupied and the service was prompt. Food was good and fresh. Not super spicy depending on what you got. Would recommend to those looking for a new Filipino spot!

I've been to Kapatad a couple times now and have enjoyed the food and the servers are really friendly. I'm not an expert on Filipino food, but it seems authentic and tasty though some dishes I enjoyed more than others. I enjoyed the sisig, lumpiang, and Bicol express in particular while the bbq chicken/pork and calamari were more standard and I didn't like the kare kare as much personally. The entrees come with rice or fried rice and the fried rice doesn't cost extra which is awesome. We also had the halo halo for dessert last time which was good. Overall the ambience and experience is nice and I would come back again for Filipino food.

The Lumpiang Shanghai were quite addictive, with a nice crispy, crunchy exterior, and a soft, flavorful pork-based interior. I'm sure I smelled the inside several times, really nice with and without the sweet and sour sauce accompanying it.The Beef Kare Kare was clearly made with braised beef heel, definitely a soft bite, and when combined with the peanut sauce, I'd say it reminded me of a nice tender lengua, though more lean of course. Also, the tripe in there was equally tender, soft enough that you might miss its presence. Seems like they substituted boy choy in place of nappa, but that worked just fine. The Palabok had great flavor and texture. Thin rice noodles lounging in a garlicky pork-shrimp-seafood sauce, with shrimp, squid, ground pork, a quartered soft boiled egg, chicharrones, and scallions allows your taste buds to savor the flavors while you feel the contrasting crispy fried pork skin bits against those soft noodles. I think there was also some dried shrimp and fish in there.Pineapple Ice: Thirst quenching and not overly sweetened iced pineapple juice.Return again, for the friendly staff, efficient kitchen output, amusing bathroom signs, ease of QR code checkout, pretty good portion sizes, and easy parking situation. Oh yeah, the food happens to be pretty good too! Note that this was during lunch, and they appeared to be reasonably busy with several groups.

I knew this place was going to hit because, besides my friend and I, all of the patrons were Filipino families.Service was incredibly warm and friendly. They also served our food quickly. We ordered lechon and spicy green beans, as well as complimentary rice and garlic fried rice. The lechon was super crispy, yet not oily. It can get a bit heavy, so the side of pickled vegetables and sweet sauce helps to cut the grease. I also loved the sweet, spicy, and savory sauce from the green beans. It paired nicely with the rice. I am excited to return to try the rest of their menu!
