JPs Wimberley Bbq

Brisket was as good as it gets, IMHO.Had the fatty side. Fat was rendered perfectly. Smoky & not too salty. My favorite thing so far was on my first visit. Pork belly burnt ends. Sticky, smoky, sweet, & salty. The sausage is homemade. Grandpa's recipe. On point, gramps! There's also a hatch & cheddar version that neither grandpa nor I I have tried. ( just guessing he hadn't, but if it's anything like the original..! ) The total show stopper was my side of braised cabbage w/ meaty bits!!! I drank the delicious "meat liquor" to the last drop. It's on River Road. So it's outta the busy fray just enough, but still in town.Desserts are homemade. Big backyard patio bar for watchin the game on tv. Very Texas feeling! Friendly folks! Rumors of expanding hours & even a possible breakfast menu?Don't feed the deer.

Spend a whole day at Wimberley - we visit the shops - we went on a hike - build up a good appetite and we got treated to this perfect meal for 2 for under $22 !! The place was clean- and big Texas smiles everywhere ! Thanks

Came with a big family. Everyone wanting something different, so this was the final decision. We also had dogs with us so we were a little limited on choices. The device was friendly. The food didn't taste fresh at all. The Mac and cheese was so basic. The coleslaw tasted 3 days old. The chicken salad sandwich tasted like medicine. I couldn't take more than one bite. The bbq sandwich was good but nothing to write home about. I wouldn't waste your time coming here.

The green chile and Gouda sausage, ribs, brisket and potato salad are outstanding. The atmosphere is very relaxed with good classic country music playing.

Super tender brisket with a nice flavor. The sausage was good as well. The prices and portions were very reasonable. Only two negatives were very stale saltine crackers (every pack we got) and wish they stayed open until 8 pm. Great customer service/counter ;~) forgot to take pictures but we will next time!

Service was excellent and our food came out fast. We had the family platter with brisket and sausage with green beans and corn. It was delicious.The owner stopped by to check on us and was super friendly. We highly recommend JPs BBQ!

Nice location, away from the square. Plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. Decent parking.Counter service, was pleasant.So far, I've tried the pulled pork, and chopped beef sandwiches. They were OK, but nothing special. Maybe I've ordered the "wrong things", but so far, I'm underwhelmed for a BBQ spot in the Texas Hill Country.
