I haven't been to Jack Allen's in years and boy have I been missing out!The service was great! I felt like I was being served for my birthday but it was just a normal occasion! Justin and Nick was great and very attentive!Beautiful place for a date night ambiance was nice! The star was the pork chop! The mashed potatoes and veggies! Everything was full of flavor! I will be back, Monday through Friday for their 3-6:30 Happy hour

I love Jack Allen's Kitchen for date night! My husband and I go to Jack Allen's Kitchen frequently for their nice selection of fresh foods and succulent drinks that are reasonably priced. Occasionally we will pick up food to go. Jack Allen's Kitchen on Anderson Lane has a roadhouse vibe with Texan undertones. Our dining experience has always been great - food quality is consistently notable and service top-notch.Reservations are recommended but not required. The downside of not making reservations is sometimes you must wait for a table to open. During the week this is not an issue. However, on the weekends it gets quite busy. A hostess greets you as you walk in, and information is taken for you to wait in the dining queue, or you are shown immediately to your table. Standard fare includes a complimentary sample size pimento spread with crackers. We are creatures of habit and usually order salmon or trout entrees, occasionally we deviate off the main path. We also love their guacamole and catfish appetizers. It's truly amazing how fast your menu items are prepared. Important to note, Jack Allen's Kitchen has happy hour Mon-Fri 3:30-6:30 pm with half-priced appetizers and $1 off cocktails. Amazing deal!!!Today was a rare "to-go" order day for a working Board meeting. I selected salmon with Dijon and horseradish glaze, pan seared potato cake, herb roasted veggies, white wine lemon butter sauce, and toasted paprika glaze. So delicious!We have celebrated birthdays, career milestones and many date nights. Jack Allen's Kitchen has ample free parking. Recommend Jack Allen's Kitchen for your dining pleasure!

Service was fantastic! We were a party of 7 and in no rush. Our server took great care of us. We didn't have to ask for much as he kept anticipating our needs.My friends ordered a variety of things catfish, chicken, salad, special wild mushroom enchiladas (no longer available) which they said was divine. The only downside ***for me*** is there are limited vegetarian options other than salads. Five stars for the carnivores. My friends really love all their locations in the area. I usually just agree to go along. As far as the menu, it would be nice to see a list of side orders versus having to read through all the entrees to see what can be ordered. I mean I get they want people to order the entrees, but sometimes you want small bites other than appetizers.

Love to come here for lunch! I almost always get the Ruby Red trout salad because it's amazing and the perfect amount of food. Everything on their menu tastes great so you cannot go wrong here. I love that they have a GF menu and staff is knowledgeable, I only wish there were more options.One of my favorite places to eat!

This was my first time there and ordered the Trout on the GF menu. I thought it needed an extra sauce that could send it over the top.

I had an amazing experience at Jack Allen's. We made a reservation and were promptly seated with a great server. I ordered the Killer Burger with Swiss cheese, Thousand Island dressing, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes. I really liked the way my burger was cooked and the flavors of everything. I ordered a mix of sweet potato fries and regular fries and loved the regular fries!This a great place to go with a family because it's lively without being too loud to hear one another. I can also see this being a great place for a dinner with co workers or even a date night! We came here for a casual dinner and it was perfect as well! It's Austin so there's no dresscode but feel free to dress up!I've been here a handful of times and never had a bad experience here! I have yet to save room for dessert but their menu (the server's memorize the menu!) sounds amazing!

The Happy Hour here is unbeatable! The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Many have been there since this location opened. They have a good wine and cocktail program. My favorite appetizer is the fried catfish with slaw. My go to drinks are the Jak's Mexican Martini and the Rita topped with red wine! Yum!

Ambiance: 4/5: nothing too special about the ambiance. It has your typical American restaurant feel.Service: 5/5: Our waiter was really friendly and attentive. Came around our table a couple of times to make sure we were doing ok.Food: 5/5: I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was a lot better than what I was expecting. Its a dish a would probably get again.Drinks: 4/5: Ordered the espresso martini. I liked that the martini glass was a big larger than a regular martini glass, but the taste wasn't all there. Overall a good experience. I'll most likely come back.

Jack Allen's is always a solid choice to meet folks for lunch. I met a former colleague today and enjoyed the fried shrimp taco special. He had the green chili pork tacos. I love that they have a patio because on a beautiful Austin day like today, it's great to sit there and have a view of nature. Sometimes you have to make a reservation it gets full fast, but today we were able to walk in and get a nice patio table!

As things go Jack Allen's Kitchen is pretty darn amazing. Reservations aren't always needed because we belly up to the bar when we visit. This time we took a friend to dinner and thought it best to make them. The frozen margaritas are spot on and perfect portions. This is one of the nicest places to sit and enjoy a drink or a meal. Perfect lighting and it's not really noisy. It's got a real neighborhood vibe where seeing neighbors is normal.
