Just had a dinner for one at J-prime and it was delicious! I started with the carpaccio and shrimp cocktail, both well dressed and yummy. I finished with a caeser and my amazing server Anastacia was able to add white anchovies on the side along with a lobster bisque. I tried a Love Letter mocktail that was tangy and sweet. No room for dessert this time but I'll be back! Thanks for great service, food and general atmosphere!

Overall, this is a very elegant restaurant with a refined atmosphere and solid food. I recently visited for a friend's retirement dinner, and while the experience had its highs and lows, it was still an enjoyable evening. We had a reservation for 8:45 PM, but unfortunately, we weren't seated until just under an hour later. While the wait was frustrating, once we were finally seated, the service more than made up for it. Our server was attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly for our group. As for the food, most of what we ordered was very good. I went with the seafood pasta, and it did not disappoint--it was flavorful, well-prepared, and packed with fresh seafood. I also tried the lobster bites, which weren't exactly what I was expecting, but they were still decent.Despite the delayed seating, the overall experience was positive. The ambiance, service, and food quality make this a restaurant worth visiting, though I'd recommend being prepared for a potential wait, even with a reservation. I'd be open to coming back and trying more dishes in the future!

I rarely write reviews, but after a disappointing experience on New Year's Eve, I felt it was necessary to share my thoughts. We made a reservation for 7 people for 8:30 PM and arrived at 8:15 PM to check in, but weren't seated until nearly 8:55 PM. Considering the menu was pre-fixed and we arrived well ahead of time, this was frustrating and unexpected.Once we were finally seated, things didn't improve. The room was so cold that half of our party had to leave and go back to the hotel for jackets. I spoke with both our server and a manager about the issue, but nothing was done to make the situation better. Other guests were also visibly uncomfortable, with many wearing jackets inside--a sign of poor climate control that should be addressed in a restaurant of this caliber. To make matters worse, it seemed like our server was distracted by other tables. We saw several other parties receive complimentary champagne, roses, and even balloon lights, while we had to request a balloon multiple times before we received one, and never once were given anything of compliment. It was hard not to feel like the service was lacking in general, and while we understand there could be language barriers, it certainly felt like we weren't given the attention we deserved. The one bright spot was the food--it was genuinely delicious and flavorful, which made the experience a bit better, but it didn't make up for the service issues.Considering we spent nearly $1,300 for this meal, it was really disappointing that we didn't feel comfortable or valued. I truly hope the restaurant takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the guest experience for future special occasions.Additionally, I've written (2) emails now to the restaurant with no response back. I truly hope that if you visit this restaurant, you don't have the same poor experience.

Service was great! Food unfortunately was not.Stopped by for my brothers birthday and the staff here were extremely hospitable. The atmosphere here is interesting -- they have the refined service and white tablecloths you'd expect of a fancy steakhouse but they choose to pair it with club / EDM style music. Not necessarily a con, just interesting. The food was where our experience soured:Bone Marrow - Quite overpriced for the portion of edible marrow you receive. Wouldn't order again.Dry aged Tomahawk - Unfortunately this was just average. It was cooked such that the outside was charred (leaving some pieces almost inedible) and did not have the flavor I expected for a steak of this price point. Perhaps this was to be expected with a larger cut of meat, but I was disappointed nonetheless.

Food - 4.5 stars BUT excludes the steak which is 2 starsService - 4.5 stars Ambiance- 4.5 stars The food is excellent EXCEPT (and I know this is huge for a steak house) the steaks have never been cooked to the correct temp in multiple visits! Mostly overdone each time but the one time it was under, they put the same steak back on the grill twice and it was dry as a bone and not medium. Everything else has been wonderful. And the menu selection covers almost all bases! The wine list is extensive and very appropriately selected for this type of cuisine. They also do a good happy hour in the bar that starts at 4:30. One of our visits was my birthday and they have me a huge piece of deliciously moist cake. Up in the air about future visits unless we don't plan on getting steak. Someone please tell me they are getting it right now!

I stopped in here for happy hour while staying in Austin. Their happy hour special is amazing! $10 small plates and $9 cocktails. We sat at the bar and ordered the Spill the Tea, Cucumber, and Espresso martinis and they were all fabulous. The bartender was working hard but still fun! I also ordered the lobster bisque (not on the HH menu) and it was amazing! Finally, we had the Filet Mignon ala Parrilla and the Grilled Pineapple Kabobs. Both were quite tasty despite being a small portion. The only part of the meal that made me knock it down to four stars were issues with my bill and the man sitting next to me. I ordered 2 martinis during happy hour and one after happy hour, but I was charged $17 for them all. So, I had to request them to change that. I also found another happy hour error after I paid. I heard the man next to me saying that he was considerably overcharged for his happy hour wine and he had to have the same bartender correct it. It could be simple error with the system or a way to rack up bills if people aren't paying attention when they pay. So, I didn't like that. Overall, I would come back again when visiting Austin.

I wish I could afford to come here weekly! This place is one of the best steakhouse experiences I've had in Austin. Food was incredible along with the ambiance. Our server really went above and beyond for our birthday celebration- free dessert and a chic light up balloon/handwritten card for the guest of honor. The only negavtive I have to say- is that we ordered the prisoner cab but were charged for the prisoner Zinfandel... which was over a $100 price difference for the bottle. I didn't bother to refute the price for this due to the rest of the evening going well. We had the dry aged filet, lobster tail, wedge, celebration cake, and many of the seafood appetizers. Everything was fabulous and presented beautifully. This is definitely a perfect spot for a romantic evening, or group dinner for a special occasion. Get your wallet ready (but it's sooo worth it) !

A few girlfriends and I came to have dinner Monday night here and we were absolutely treated top tier. Our server was Abigail, and there were two managers on staff. Every one was extremely attentive, table touched at appropriate times, made any mistakes right and then some. The food was fantastic but the service was superb, feeling absolutely catered to. 100% Princess treatment. Thank you JPrime and staff!
