FIRE....excited this new gem is close to us and a sorely needed add to Dripping! Hard to spot off the road, has a great sitting area! Chicken was one of the most tender I've had. Rice cooked perfectly and everything we had was delish! Hawaiian plates done right! Check it out! We definitely will be back!

Food was INSANELY fresh and good. So happy this guys in town, ribs were out of this world with flavor and chicken was delicious with the perfect combo of sweet heat. Even the tots were fire. Our family devoured everything. Will be back soon and I'm eyeing the pulled pork next. Love supporting local/family businesses and even better when the food is exceptional.Ps location is a bit hard to find, gotta drive or walk to the far side of the cultural center parallel to 290. There's a back parking lot you can goto as well off the road.

There's not many Hawaiian bbq places in the Austin area, let alone out in Dripping Springs, so I'm very happy about this food truck opening shop so close to us!We ordered the teriyaki chicken (not sure if it's the same as the char siu chicken because it's called the latter on the website but called teriyaki on toastab), the short rib, and mochico chicken. All plates were very good. I definitely think the cook on the chicken is spot on. Glad they use thigh meat btw but could use a little touch more seasoning. However, the accompanying teriyaki/Hawaiian bbq sauce is great. The rice and mac salad were very good but the cucumber salad is probably not worth the upcharge and maybe 2-3 slices should be thrown in on the side to bring that veggie freshness/palate cleanser to the plates. I wish I took pictures but we ate it all too fast. So we'll be back! Definitely want to try the pork belly and chicken katsu next time.PS I hope they eventually make spam musubis or musubis with their current meats.

If you are looking for the real deal Hawaiian in the hill country this is the place to go. Its a little hard to find back in the trees, but once you find it it'll make you feel like your back on Oahu. The short ribs and Kalua pork were both excellent and the mac salad is right on the money. Looking forward to going to back to try other things. Ono grinds!

I love Hawaii, especially Hawaiian food. Unfortunately since moving from CA, there's not much Hawaiian food around. But the ones that do exist are all food trucks, which makes complete sense because they are mobile and can move around to areas where there is a demand instead of being stuck in one place not knowing if customers are going to come. The most common Hawaii staple is the plate lunch which consist of a scoop of rice and macaroni salad, and protein from kalbi short rib, teriyaki chicken to chicken katsu a deep fried chicken breast or thigh bartered in panko accompany by a tangy sauce. On the menu of How'z it Hawaiian Grill there is a variety of plate lunches. Surprisingly the prices are reasonable. The Kalbi plate includes 3 pieces of thick beef bone in ribs for $16. The marinade/seasoning was on the lighter side than I'm used to but it allows the natural beef to come through. Sometimes they can be too salty and/or sweet. The wellness could have been cooked a bit longer as it was cooked to medium but I think for most people medium well is the preferred choice for this type of meat.We also ordered the bbq chicken. I'll keep it simple and say I probably wouldn't order it again. Using a teriyaki sauce instead of Chinese bbq sauce would have been a better option. It seemed the macaroni salad was a mixture of old and new because the top portion tasted good and fresh but by the time my wife and I got through the middle portion it tasted sour as if it was expired. The location is super hidden. Located off of a side road you wouldn't even know it existed. I'm a bit conflicted because I wish the best for the food truck but there are definitely things that need to be improved on for me to come back. I guess I'll just have to make trips to Hawaii for now to satisfy my Hawaiian food cravings.

So. Good. My husband and I tried the grilled chicken and short ribs and got a side of cucumber salad. All of it was delicious, hot and fresh! We can't wait to come back! There was plenty of outdoor tables to sit at and plenty of shade to cool off under.

Extremely friendly owner and the food is incredible. Every time we eat here, we're reminded of how fresh and tasty the food is from How'z It. Nothing but incredible things to say about the owner and the food.
