I stayed here 3 nights recently for a work event and Hotel Van Zandt is a gorgeous boutique hotel! All the staff I interacted with was friendly and helpful especially for our work event. They were on point replenishing our beverage stations and anything we needed at all they were there to assist us. Breakfast and lunch at Geraldine's (on the 4th floor) was fantastic. The restaurant is beautiful and they have the best scrambled eggs ive ever had in my life. The only thing that really bugged me during my stay was not having a shower door or shower curtains in the bathroom. it's the style of course .....but water was getting everyone on the floor which was super annoying. Lastly, the location is great! Just a few steps away from the nightlife on Rainey Street!

Very disappointing stay. Checked in at the front desk with a lady who was not welcoming at all and who should not be in the hospitality business at a hotel charging this munch per night. She assigned us to room 720, which directly above a club and we heard the dj spinning all night long. Make sure not to get a room on that side, however, they are thoughtful in providing ear plugs...Also seems they forgot to add a shower door. Perhaps that's their vibe but no shower doors in the shower Was very disappointed as we were willing to spend this amount of money on a nice hotel. Literally 2 stars at best.

Giving 4 stars only because it's not what it could be and it's ALMOST there! Hotel Stay/Cabanas and poolHotel Staff and service - 5/5 This was honestly the best part of our stay! They made our stay so easy and special for my husbands birthday! We were welcomed with a complementary beverage of our choice (beer), and they were very helpful when our booking wasn't confirmed is email. Value- they had a great summer special for locals so this was perfect for our staycation. Hotel Room- (this is whet it goes down a star for me) the room itself was good but we got a "pool view" on the top floor and the view was lacking. We had to look straight down to see the pool and all we really saw was the dirt lot next door with cranes. I imagine once it's done all you'll really see is other high rises and a partial view of the lake. Would recommend they change the " view" description to be more transparent especially if charging a premium rate.Cabana and Pool- We rented 2 cabanas for my husband's birthday. It was a bit wonky that you had to book it through a different service so it wasn't very convenient having to be transferred around for service questions. All in all it was fun and very closely monitored for wristbands so that added security was very helpful and loved that it wasn't crowded. Grant it- 30 of those spaces were reserved for us. Great service at the cabanas. Pricey but we expected that. Two minuses for me at the pool- 1- they didn't have Michelob ultra or Dos Equis which is a very typical drink for by the pool. (Was pretty disappointed)2- There was a lot of construction noise going on while we were at the pool and was not very relaxing Of

The people at the front desk were nice, and the people at the bar were nice, however the experience was not good at all. We ordered garden nigiri, which was like vegan sushi, they didn't have forks, plates, soy sauce or ginger/wasabi. The drinks are $20 each but would not recommend. The hotel room was nice but the bathroom door would not shut because there was a loose screw lol. It was not worth the money at all, but the location is good.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Van Zandt during my visit to Austin, Texas, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I stepped foot into the lobby, I knew this would be a special experience. The staff at Hotel Van Zandt is exceptional. They were incredibly attentive and hospitable, making me feel like I was truly at home away from home. Their warm demeanor and willingness to assist with any request made my stay all the more enjoyable. The design of the hotel is simply captivating, especially for music lovers like myself. The ambiance resonates with the vibrant music culture of Austin, creating an atmosphere that is both lively and inviting. It's evident that every detail was carefully curated to enhance the guest experience.I stayed in one of the suites, which felt more like a luxurious one-bedroom apartment than a hotel room. The amenities were top-notch, and I was particularly impressed by the inclusion of a Marshall speaker valued at over $500. Being able to jam out to my favorite tunes added an extra layer of luxury to my stay. The cleaning team at Hotel Van Zandt deserves recognition for their hard work. They were highly visible and diligent in keeping the hotel in tiptop shape throughout my stay. However, I did encounter some issues during my time at the hotel. The lack of consistent hot water in the showers was disappointing. It seemed that the water would start off lukewarm and then suddenly switch to ice cold, making for an uncomfortable experience. This happened consistently during each shower, which was frustrating.Additionally, some aspects of the suite could use improvement. I noticed stains on the sofas and numerous scratches on the floor, among other minor issues. While these didn't significantly detract from my overall experience, they were noticeable and could benefit from attention. In conclusion, my stay at Hotel Van Zandt was memorable for all the right reasons. The attentive staff, unique design, and luxurious amenities made for an unforgettable experience. Despite a few minor shortcomings, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Austin.

The Hotel Van Zandt has always been my stopping post during downtown walks and during SXSW. It's a great place the get some rest in the lobby and enjoy refreshments at the Cafe 605. The place has great atmosphere with its eccentric industrial appeal. For Memorial Day I decided to stay here for two nights with my wife to enjoy the entertainment at Rainey Street and at the hotel pool. I wanted to check-in early before 4:00 PM so I called the hotel directly and was able to upgrade to a suite. It was called the Frank Boulder Aux Suite. I recommend this room where you are located on the top floor with views of both the Lady Bird Lake and Rainey Street. The room also has a separate bedroom and living area with a big bathing the middle with a huge standalone tub. It was well worth it.Upon checkin we were provided two free drinks where I selected grapefruit sparking water and a local beer. Great hospitality has always been a focal point even when I attend a conference here years ago. The room had the usual offerings like snacks and a mini bar (refrigerator) for purchase, with special items like bath salts for the tub. The bed was very comfortable and the air controls worked very well.I reserved a cabana by the pool (will need to use ResortPass to reserve) which turned out very nice to have a dedicated place to sit and away from the sun, plus it ended up very crowded. The food and drinks were very good. It included some free cold water bottles. However the pool was a bit cold but took a while to get used to. The reservation was for the whole day.I used the parking valet where they had their own underground parking garage. Overall it was a fantastic stay.
