Not as good as it used to be. Last two visits they only had one cashier. He was making drinks and taking orders. Line was always long. It is too too too dark inside to see your food, drink or whomever you are with. Music is too loud to have a conversation. Overall I think it is still an ok place to hang out and not have to deal with tourists or those new to Austin. But it has also passed it's prime.

The hideout pub was on the list of my companion for the evening, on places she really wanted to hit on her visit to the city. She had moved away and still loves to hit some of the great dive bars in the area. This was number two on her list.Cheeseburger was delicious, the kind that drips grease down your arms and melts in your mouth. The beer was cold and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately,, my plus one's cocktail was not very well mixed or balanced. She changed her drink selection to a more simpler drink for round two. We would have stayed longer, but it was too stinking hot. The seating area outback had misters going, but they had drenched the benches and had not really been set properly... It was a hot messInside, someone had turned the jukebox (TouchTunes) volume way down, definitely hard to hear any of the selections we had purchasedThe spot has great potential and has a great location. Will be back when it gets a little cooler.

This is a dive bar, and that's not a bad thing. One of the best burgers in all of Austin. I will type that out again but really slowly to make sure you got that the first time: the hideout pub has one of the best burgers in all of Austin. I said what I said. Order at the bar, and they bring it to your table. Happy hour specials, and random movies projected onto a huge screen. It's kind of perfect. Don't tell anyone.

Wow...the drinks were pretty bland and bad.Ion surprised because I had su CJ a great experience yrs ago--but bartenders change and quality isn't always consistent. Now the wings? They are consistent and still amazing...my date enjoyed his food as well. It's not as "cheap" as they advertise but the food is good , people are still friendly and place is spaciousI'll go back but will not get a drink if the same tender is working...he was nice but the drinks weren't!!

What I "got" from this experience was that Hideout Pub is a dive bar with craft cocktails and pub fare - and excellent service. HUGE shout out to the staff (or perhaps owners) who were so welcoming from the moment our group of seven walked in eager to order drinks and food (one hour before their kitchen was set to close). They found out we just wrapped up a long work day (15 hours) and greeted our table with a round of complimentary Jello shots. We ordered everything from southwestern chicken eggrolls, chips and queso, wings, fries, chicken tenders, fried steak fingers paired with old fashioneds, negronis, beer, and more jello shots!Great time, highly recommend!

Here's a joint that I have been aware of for many years, yet I forget exists at all until I drive by it every 3 or 4 years or so. I pulled off of Mo-Pac once about 15 years ago just to run in for a quick pee. After that, I quickly left with nary a glance toward the bar.But as fate would have it, I visited this place a few weeks back only because my wife's friend - let's call her Candy - wanted us to watch a Notre Dame football game with her and some of her other friends, none of whom I had ever met before. I don't give a damn about Notre Dame football. They weren't playing any Texas team, either, so I was wholly uninterested in this spectacle. We made a point to show up a tad later than Candy told my wife the game would start, but it turned out that Candy misinformed us about the game's start time. It would be nearly another hour before the Notre Dame kickoff. And I was hungry. They took my order at the bar for a Black N' Blue Burger and even gave me a number - 39 - to place on my table. Nearly an hour later - right before the kickoff - I went back up to the bar to inquire about my food. That's when I was informed that they were out of nearly everything foodwise, except fried cheese. They knew this right after they took my order, yet never bothered to come out and let me know. It was a Saturday night, and this place had no real food. Yikes. For my troubles, they gave me some fried cheese on the house. It was...blah. I didn't want fried cheese. I never want fried cheese. The draft beers I drank were cold enough I suppose, though a bit on the pricy side.Ultimately, I doubt I will ever return to this place on my own accord, that is unless I need to run through to pee again.

I hate to be that person always writing about dates, but this is another date night alert:This place has plenty inside seating as well as a huge patio out back for socializing. It's perfect. You can choose a cozy table inside to talk, or sit picnic/open style out back so you can hear one another. The drinks were pretty decent and good in size. They didn't short you on liquor. I can't complain! A great view of the city buildings in North Austin at night when you sit out back, too. The air is clear and there's nothing but open skies above. I liked this place. Still have yet to try the food. There is PLENTY of parking but because this place is very popular, it can STILL be hard to find a spot. Crazy, I know.Come here and grab a drink. Connect with your person at a fun spot.

Im such a stickler for details when it comes to food. Everytime I try fried pickles I take note of the ratio of pickle to fry portion. So many places over salt or gice you way too much of thr fried part and very little value. This place nails it, the chicken strips and BBQ Burger were also top notch. I love this place , its been here for quite awhile and it hast let its standards slip and i believe they deserve a shoutout for that. I love there overall vibe and laidback feel. Great staff and chill management. For any people in the area who are looking for a new spot to try out, come by The Hideout, its badass!

My crew has been coming here for years and it's a perfect chill dive bar for Austinites. Inside they have a big screen and other TVs where you will always find the games on. I truly come here for their food though. My go-to is their wings. They are on the larger side for wings these days. Perfectly crispy skin each time. My new favorite is cheesy fries. I killed the basket and although it was plentiful I still wanted more. Now their burgers are the real highlight here. They cook it perfectly medium rare each time. Love the beer selection. My favorite is their haze and you can't beat a $5 draft! The place truly is hidden if it's your first time, the parking lot is very dark. They have a patio with lots of space. It is not dog friendly though is the only bummer here.

Decent place. Staff kinda bleh. Prices ok. Not a lot of parking. Loud inside. That's about it. I like to support local bars so I'd go back.
