One of my fave neighborhood spots. This brewery boasts a huge space indoors and out with lots of room to move.So many great pours to choose from.I love hanging out here because it's so relaxing and comfortable to sip on a beer and just unwind.Excellent service.

Love that Hi Sign Brewing hosts such fun events, like speed puzzling! Super fun, and such a cozy spot, and pretty good drinks! I'm not a big alcohol drinker so the drink options were a bit limited. And sadly the cocktails are all premade in a big batch so you can't turn any drink into a mocktail. But the options they had were pretty good! I was a fan of the N/A perol spritz and my friends really enjoyed Off the wagon. And of course they had other options like Mexican coke and Jarritos, which are always great. But if you're not a drinker, a great time to go is in January, when they have a more varied Dry January menu!

This place could be great but their dog policy is ridiculous - they don't welcome dogs unless standing on blacktop is your idea of dog friendly on a hot day in Austin.I have been on dog-friendly crusade of breweries and this place just irritates me to no end. They are real close to my place but dogs are a nope inside. I have no idea why given they do not make food. The beer was good for the one we had but they didn't even tell us no dogs until right AFTER we had ordered and paid for our beer. The only you'll see is of my dogs standing on concrete as we sucked down our beer to leave.Get it together and say you are NOT dog-friendly so we don't waste our time here.

Been here a few times since they opened and it's a chill spot. Came here recently for a tech networking event. They also had geeks who drink event going on outside. The best thing about this place is their violet beer. It has been one of my favorite beers in town for quite some time now, it is very delicious. Another highlight is they also have some liquor. They can make an old fashion. I am not a fan of their premade one however, it has mezcal in it which I am not a fan. They don't have much to mix many cocktails as you can imagine since it's a brewery. The server was super nice and took his time explaining some menu items to me.Both indoor and outdoor seating. Dog-friendly outback, usually a good amount of dogs here. The restrooms are nice and clean. They have a food truck outside, it was Nyam when I went a few weeks ago.

Gorgeous decor/ style details in this brewery, especially the wallpaper in the bathrooms! Great deal for happy hour as well $5 All Drafts! We wanted to try them all so we got all of them available. The beer quality was fantastic, you won't find a watered down/plain flavor like so many of them these days. Our favorites were the Shamus Irish Red, Wooderson IPA, and the HI-C IPA. They also offer cocktails and mocktails as well as a few options for wine, cider, and coffee. Great selection of to-go beers and merch. The place was extremely clean everywhere. They have 2 tvs and they were showing international soccer! We didn't see much of the staff, the woman working the counter frequently left and the limited people there had to wait a bit at the counter to get anything, but there wasn't many people around on a later Sunday day. The outside has a lot of potential, but most months it's just too hot with limited shade and no fans or misters and inside can get crowded and loud fast. A man came by with a dog and asked for water for it and he got a beer and they sat outside, but it was like 90 degrees and they both looked miserable, wish they could have come inside as there was basically no one there. Seemed odd with their branding about dogs, not having a kitchen or food to worry about, and most breweries around here are cool with it.

This is a beautiful new tap room from an established brewery. I loved their beers at the old location, but it was a bit of a challenge to get to. This new location on the east side is perfect, plenty of parking, a ton of space inside and out and friendly service as always.

Friendly bartenders, modern decor, outdoor tables and of course, great beer, make Hi Sign a must visit destination in (far) East Austin. At the suggestion of the staff, I tried the Ajoy (Czech Pilsner) and the Violet (blueberry blonde ale). The Ajoy (I think pronounced Ahoy) was crisp and delicious, perfect for a nice day outdoors. I actually don't think this is a great example of Czech Pilsner because it wasn't really hoppy & bitter at all, which frankly wasn't a problem! I'd gladly drink this beer all day long. But the Violet is really what they're known for. If you ever see Hi Sign at a bar or restaurant (and you often will) it's almost always the Violet. And for good reason! It packs just enough natural blueberry flavor to give this beer a lot of interest, w/ out overwhelming the drink. And like I said, it tastes natural, just like a blueberry! This isn't some artificially flavored seltzer. Violet, like the Ajoy, is a very refreshing beer, great for a nice day outside.I will say the outdoor area isn't the best in Austin - it's just a repurposed parking lot - but with lights strung over top, and a park across the street, many of the views do add to the ambiance.

Following a Yelp event, I stumbled into Hi Sign brewery and tried a Hazy IPA. The bartender was especially nice and offered the perfect beer for me. I was also able to get a nonalcoholic beverage for my friend who does not drink. My favorite part was that they had the hazy IPA and a four pack to go so that I could enjoy the beer at home. The brewery was very clean and would be a great place to study or work as it is moderately quiet, especially on a Sunday. I cannot wait to go back and share this with my friends and family!

I've visited Hi Sign several times now and have generally had a good time. There are lots of beers on tap, and I've enjoyed all of the ones I have tried. Now, I normally don't like to post anything negative, but I feel the need to mention my latest experience. My parents were in town last weekend, so my boyfriend and I decided to take them to Hi Sign after dinner at Holiday down the street (this was Friday, August 9th during the evening). There were 2 employees pouring beers at the bar. One, the older one, had AirPods in the entire time he was working and was extremely rude to us. We ordered 3 beers, and he handed us 2. We politely waited and when he didn't say anything, we asked for the 3rd beer we had already paid for. He rudely told us that he had already given it to us and that someone must have already taken it (even though we were the only ones standing at the bar and nobody else had come to the bar between when we ordered and that moment). He eventually agreed to pour another beer, and when he handed it to us, said "here it is, even though I already gave it to you". Additionally, the 3 beers we had ordered were 3 distinct beers. The third beer he poured was the same one as the second one (I'm forgetting the names now). We informed him of this, as we had watched him pour it, and he denied it and laughed at us. We tried them and confirmed that they were in fact the same. At this point, we decided to just leave it at that and walked away with the 3 beers, happy to at least have the quantity we paid for, even if it was not what we had asked for. Very disappointing experience with this particular employee. Perhaps he was just having a bad day, but that is no way to treat customers. We will certainly think twice before returning.

I rarely give a poor review, but the way I was treated by an employee warrants it. I was screamed at for having a dog inside, when the brewery's branding on coasters is quite literally "drink beer and pet dogs". Their Instagram is also full of dogs visiting the brewery, so I had no idea they were not pet friendly. There was no sign from the door that I had entered in that said no dogs allowed. Obviously I would not have brought my dog indoors if there were clear signs. We were there for over an hour with some friends, minding our own business, when a bar back came storming towards us and yelled "NO DOGS INSIDE CANT YOU READ??" And pointed at small acrylic stick-on letters on a glass window that were hidden by an indoor yeti water tank... that has dog bowls beneath it. A polite "hey no dogs are allowed indoors in 103 degree heat, can you please go outside?" Would have been nice, but I guess hospitality has a different definition here. Their patio has no shade, fans, or misters... so it's not really a comfortable place for humans or dogs. Our group certainly won't be back. Plenty of amazing breweries in Austin to hang at where the staff is courteous... this isn't one of them.
