Hecho En Mexico

I'm lucky have them in the food. I was raised on Tex-Mex, New Mexican, and some interior Mexico food and this is one of the best all around Mexican cuisine places I've found in Austin. The customer service is just right and meals come out promptly. Menu offers a big variety and I haven't been disappointed with any choice. I rate the dining experience a 4.5. One person i Yelp complained about bad Happy Meal. Doesn't exist here as all meals are made from scratch and created for customer satisfaction. They will happily correct any mistakes.

Very authentic Mexican food nestled in a small strip mall- easy and free parking. What a nice find! The margaritas were good but the sangria had an unexpected ( and not listed ) ingredient- spicy tajin. I don't like spice and I didn't care for the seasoning. Kinda ruined the sangria I was expecting just fyi. The food was good and authentic- loved the quesadillas!! Our young server was lovely, and artwork on the walls were for sale and very good.

First because it is a neighborhood restaurant, we walked to dinner and my route was shorter than my wife's choice to the meal by 6 minutes. So my Mole Poblano Pork Shank with black beans & rice was extra good. I celebrated with the La Hecho's Margarita with Tequila of the Centenario on the rocks & salt. My young daughter managed to break her child proof cup of milk and the staff was quick & attentive. The place after all these years still has the mojo for tasty authentic dishes.

We went before heading to a show downtown. There is parking on site. The atmosphere is very casual. The frozen margaritas are really good. They are served in metal cups and stayed chilly the whole time we were there. The salsa is really great and has just the right amount of kick. We had the queso flameado. It is served with tortillas. Don't get this confused with classic queso, which is thinner and meant for chips. This is thick, cheesy, and oh so good! I could honestly eat it with a spoon. The staff is attentive and were prompt with our food. They do have Tequila tasting events quarterly, I believe, so I am hope to catch one of those events sometime!

I heard this was a good interior Mexican food place so we tried it for dinner. The wait staff was very attentive and offered suggestions. We had the beef enchiladas and they were good but not our favorite enchiladas. My salmon Veracruz was good but the fish was over cooked. The vegetables were good.

Meh. Had poor service and mediocre food. Went at an odd hour, so it wasn't busy at all but after waiting patiently for at least 15 minutes, we had to flag down our server to order, she never refilled our drinks or checked on us the entire meal and we to flag her down again to ask for the check. The queso was a little pricey for being basic plain queso. The verde Enchiladas were good but the rice was a little crunchy. The salsa was decent. Didn't love it enough to go again.

Decided to try a new Mexican restaurant today. Hecho En Mexico came up in Yelp. Good choice! Friendly people, great food and fast service. We had enchiladas verde traditional and beef enchiladas & beef tacos, all good, all served with delicious refried beans & rice. Good music is playing in the background so we could have a conversation without competing like too many restaurants have now. This is not your typical Mexican food, it is more from the interior but give it a try, you will go back. We are already planning on what to order next time.

First time at Hecho and ordered off the happy menu. Pricing was good for appetizer menu and service was good. Not the best mexican food I have ever had. We ordered a top shelf mexican martini and a few appetizers and the bill for each of us was $37.Got the bill and realized they charged us each an extra $8.00 per drink for a "better tequila" when the actual drink was a top shelf. A $20.00 drink plus a charge for a "convenience fee" for using a credit card.Will not be returning.

Came in here Thursday the 15th before close. Ordered my food over the phone. I walked to the point of sale with the bartender. She runs my phone for Apply Pay and either she decided to leave herself a $60 tip in addition to the tip I left her, or the restaurant double charged my card and is refusing to contact me again about it.I spoke to a woman on the phone who said a manager would contact me and reverse the charge. They have not. Given the reviews I highly doubt they are even going to reach out to me.My advice to you, is if this happened to you. Call the police and file a report like I am. This is theft and the management and ownership really don't care.

We found this restaurant during Covid, went often, wanted to help the small businesses stay open. I took a friend who had never been here. We both ordered a top shelf Mexican martini. Waiter asked if we had a specific tequilla, we just said no, but 100 % blue agave would be great. We ordered appetizers, which were good. When our check came, we were charged the twelve dollars for a top shelf, which is fine, but we were each charged an extra 8 dollars for a special tequilla. One drink was twenty dollars! Also, they charge a credit card convenience fee, even though we both used debit cards! They should just raise their prices a little, no convenience fee. This is a cute little place, but do not plan on returning. Our waiter, Chase, was very kind and attentive though.
