An awesome first trip to Hanks! We stopped here during the middle of a long bike ride out and around Austin. There was ample bike parking, and ample seating both inside and out on this January Saturday early afternoon. We were seated promptly, and our orders were taken shortly thereafter. Our server gave us some recommendations, and was visibly upset when we didn't order one of them haha.Regardless, all three dishes we got (Quiche, Benedict, Smoked Salmon Toast) were VERY good. The salmon toast came with a ton of arugula... almost overwhelming, but it was still surprisingly balanced. The quiche was the dark horse; so flavorful and texturally pleasing. The Benedict was solid, if a touch rich for my taste. The place felt warm, welcoming, and of the highest vibration. The outdoor space was weather controlled, but also felt bright and airy. I'd love to come back and try our server's recs haha!

Cute neighborhood restaurant with ample parking and there is a an adjacent coffee shop to work out of. I've had the chance to enjoy breakfast and lunch on seperate occasions, but my favorite has to be their coffee shop. They have a baked good display featuring scones and jalapeno kolaches which are all great but you have to order the sausage and cheese biscuit sandwich. Ohh the fluffiness of the butter biscuit is so damn good and the cut of the sausage is plump and flavorful. It's served with a side of jam which makes it all the better.I am a lover of cold brew and they have a mint cold brew which is alone worth taking home a gallon. There are a few tables to work out of and they have a great porch to do laptop work on. I've noticed on recent trips they have a drive thru so I'm curious what all they feature. When I went with a fraternity brother to have breakfast, I opted for their blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes and no lies they could just about feed three people. It was so much I had to take about 2/3 home. My friend had the shrimp and grits with the grits being a griddle cake and the sauce was super flavorful.I'm tempted to come back for their dinner series so I can get a better taste of what all they offer.

Meh...I've been here many times and have always been happy until this last visit. While the "new" pizza deserves 1 star, I will keep my overall review at 3 stars for nostalgia & maybe just the other food & the awesome patio. The hummus was still delicious & the passion fruit margaritas were tasty, but the pizza was absolutely gross. The first pizza was wrong, and the second one they brought was simply overcooked and hard as a brick. I am a pizza snob, but they touted this as east coast pizza. Ummmmmm...no! Not my overcooked piece of yuckiness that they served me. My friend tried a piece & she hated it, too. $16 for something I didn't eat. What a waste of perfectly good ingredients that they destroyed. Really bad. The server was good, but couldn't care less that my pizza was gross. Will I return? Probably. But not for a long time. This really ruined my night. Company was good & the patio was awesome but wow...that yucky pizza.

Great spot for brunch. The avocado toast was good but the bread was a little too toasted for me. Beautiful interior for a cute spot to take pictures and enjoy a good breakfast. Would definitely come back to try lunch or dinner

Sadly I used to love Hanks, but it has been disappointing my past few visits where I don't plan on coming back. We had a reservation for 6 at a high top. To start off with service, our server did not seem to want to be there at all. She had no friendly service and felt like we were inconveniencing her when we needed anything. The biggest letdown was the steak and eggs. Not sure what kind of steak they use, it felt like a cheap chuck roast based on how the consistency was. It was chewy, no sear, no flavor, just really hard to eat. Others tried it and all agreed it was no good. Also tried the lemon pancakes with the blueberries on the side. They were just okay. I will say the highlight was my chai tea. They make this drink perfectly.

Hank's has great happy hour and their brunch is very good. I got a veggie burger but made it vegan by asking for no cheese and to substitute the bun for their vegan sourdough. It was super busy on a Saturday afternoon but the hostess found us a table without a reservation. It's a modern vibe with a good menu, definitely would recommend!

Hank's in Austin offers a welcoming, airy space with a laid-back vibe that's perfect for catching up with friends for a HH, which is what we did. During our visit, we tried a variety of dishes, but two standouts quickly became our favorites: the fried zucchini and the whipped ricotta. The fried zucchini was a delightful surprise--perfectly crispy on the outside with a good taste on the inside and not soggy. Then there was the whipped ricotta, which was soooo good. Smooth, fluffy, and delicately seasoned, it was served with a drizzle of olive oil and eggplant making it really tasty. The service was great and everyone we interacted with was super nice. Can't wait to check it out again!

Such a delightful place to dine. I could find myself here at any time. The quality of food is definitely worth a yelp rhyme. Our Server, River, was so kind, she was gonna give our dogs water with lime. If you need a good recommendation, here's your sign. All their food, divine. Ambiance, sublime.Service. Did you not read my other line :)

Ambiance 4/5: They have plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Very nice and cute place.Service 4/5: Nothing bad or amazing to add here. Waiter did his job and was nice. He did try to pour our mimosas, but he kept spilling. Not bad, just something I remember.Food 2/5: I ordered the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Sadly my fries and sandwich were cold when they arrived at my table. Outside of that, the flavor was fine.Overall an ok place. Don't know if I'm dying to go back.

This is definitely going to be a new Monday tradition- every Monday is half priced burgers and lemme tell ya, this burger was stupid good. It came with sharp cheddar cheese, bibb lettuce, red onion, dijonaise, and a thicc patty all inside a sesame seed bun It also came with a side of french fries. They were salty, crisp, thin, and had parmesan on them.Sandro got the pesto chicken bowl and it was really really tasty. I only had one bite because he was in heaven eating that bowl so I didn't want to ask for more but I wish I did because it was THAT good. (and pretty healthy!)Another thing to mention is that happy hour is from 3-6:30 EVERYDAY so of course I was gonna take advantage of that too. I got the spicy margarita and it was quite tasty. It was small but strong. I originally was gonna order the Paloma but the machine wasn't ready yet but that's ok- I guess I'll just get it NEXT Monday Overall, Hank's had the cutest vibe and really great food. Definitely one of my favorite Austin spots so far!!
