I haven't been to Guero's since well before Covid, but recently I have been treated to several carry-out lunches which left me wanting more. Actually, they were brought to our meeting place by Craig, the chef/owner who the place is probably named after. Güero means fair-haired, or in this case likely means gringo, which Craig is.Craig, in my opinion, is the best chef in Seguin, not counting BBQ and Asian fare. His tacos are excellent, but not really Mexican in origin. The lunches he has been bringing to our meetings can only be described as gourmet cuisine. I have also been to a couple of high-end private dinners that he catered, and I keep hoping that one day he will favor Seguin with another high-end restaurant like he had over a decade ago.

I have fallen in love with this light delicious salad, the northern Caribbean salad. Ahi Tuna over greens with avocado, grapefruit, red onion, wontons crisps and sesame seeds. Tossed in a light lime coconut dressing. Try the Reuben Egg rolls if you're feeling decadent.

Amazing food, and such a broad array shown in the menu. This is my second time trying the food, the first was large office order and had samplings of almost all the appetizers, being that almost everything is made from scratch - down to the ketchup, sometimes they do run out of items. Everything was amazing, but today trying the Prime Rib sandwich, with sweet potato fries really helped me appreciate the food all the more.Cant wait to complete my tour of the menu.

The food here is amazing! It took longer than you might expect, but that's not a bad thing. The food was fresh and delicious. No soggy, stale items here. I got the Mahi tacos, which were honestly the best mahi tacos I've eaten at a restaurant. My friends got the pupusa and the prime rib sandwich. Both looked and smelled wonderful and both friends said they'd be happy to eat there again. The outside seating area was lovely, but I'm a sucker for gardens. I will be going again. Hopefully very soon!

What a gem! Was driving through on I-10 and we were hungry. Found this spot in Seguin that looked yummy. Was a bit unsure when we went up to order as we were the only ones there. OMG! The tacos were incredible! I had the purple pig taco and there was so much barbecue pork on it!! It was amazing!

I love Guero's so much that we made it part of our Seguin episode on "The Daytripper." I've eaten a LOT of food and have never had tacos like this. Get the one with the seared tuna and the soul train. Tacos will never be the same again.

First off, freakin AWESOME taco! I ordered the arrachera, it was delicious, cheesy, goodness. Meat was cooked perfectly, and that sauce, man that was good. Yes, taco did cost $7. In my humble, honest opinion, maybe just a tad bit overpriced. Will that stop me from coming again, HECK no. The concept is literally like in he name, walk up to he house, order from a window, sir in their backyard and wait for your delicious food to be ready. You can tell food is cooked to order. Took just a few minutes, but again, DELISH! I did come on a 99 degree day, but with the shade, it was bearable, (I mean, I'm a Texas boy born and raised, I'm used to the heat). I can totally see the place jam packed in the fall and spring times. Keep up the great work guys. I will definitely return. You must try it out.

Guero's Backyard has become my go-to place for tacos outside the box! I love how the owner has a passion for the plates he creates. It's not just a taco ! It's a steak Arrachera! You can't get that flavor/SABOR anywhere else in Seguin. Hand picked ingredients plus a very skilled chef, creates a more than the ordinary meal. The location is in the back of a house (hence backyard) but the order window moves Quik and the foods always hot and made to order. True talent & excellent food!I recommend Guero's Backyard to most of not all people who are asking for lunch recommendations. Keep doing what your doing Chef Craig!

Stopped in on a Sunday for lunch while driving through from SA to HOU. Upon looking at the open places on a Sunday, we decided to stop here. The owners are very passionate about only sourcing the best product and have a lush garden is growing some very nice peppers and greens. Flavors and serving sizes are definitely TX! Wonderful to see something popping up in Seguin. I will continue to dine here whenever I pass by, because we need to recognize and support people with these aspirations and sustainable businesses. I hope they stick around and continue their passion of fresh food and urban farming! We highly recommend the pork pupusa, arachera taco, hot-and-crunchy chicken taco, and the funnel fries!
