Grand Donuts

Years later, and Grand Donuts is STILL my go-to donut shop. The service is always friendly and nice, and the food NEVER disappoints! The owners are a husband and wife duo, where the wife works the counter and the husband primarily works in the back. Grand Donut truly cares about quality, and it's clear in everything they serve--whether it's their classic donuts, creative seasonal offerings, kolaches, breakfast tacos, or breakfast sandwiches. This is not your average donut shop, it's exceptional. The breading on their kolaches is perfect. While I'm a regular fan of the sausage and cheese kolaches, I like to treat myself to a Boudin Kolache every now and then. If you've never heard of or tried a Boudin Kolache, then you're probably not from Houston or Louisiana. So, what is Boudin? It's a spicy Cajun sausage made with rice and meat--and trust me, it tastes way better than it sounds!If you aren't so daring, it's okay. You can start with one of their fruit or sausage kolaches, grab a donut or a taco, whatever it is, you can't go wrong!

I LOVE this place. I've been coming here for years. Its a small, family owned shop that makes their products fresh every morning. I got hooked years ago because of their cinnamon rolls. I still remember the first time i had it. It was freshly baked and i had to wait for them to cool a bit before they hand frosted them!!! Now, the cinnamon rolls are made different; and while they're not as good as the original there's plenty here that's phenomenal. The donuts themselves fall lighter than shipleys but a tad heavier than krispy kreme. They're just these perfect pillows. And if you're smart you'll get a pillow filled with lemon filling. That's my favorite. Its perfection. Then there's their breakfast sandwiches and kolaches. Honestly, there is no best here. Pick any one and you'll be satisfied. TRY THEM ALL!!! Its not gluttony when its for research purposes and to support local businesses :) Just know, it can get busy here. Especially on the weekend. But the line goes very quickly. This family has efficiency down to a science without ever sacrificing customer service. They're always pleasant and even remember what you like. Or maybe its just that I've been here so much. Either way, ill be back just about every weekend!

Snagged a few donuts, apple fritter and a croissant kolache this weekend. I really loved the dough they use - very fresh in every bite whether a donut or kolache. Will be back for more!

We love this place! Super close to a lot of areas down south, friendly staff, seating inside, and lots of donut options! We come here because it's the one place we've found where the donuts don't stale overnight, they still taste good one to two days after! Lots of variety from old fashioned to Bavarian creams. Highly recommend this place!

Great place to get your donut fix! Plenty of choices and the coffee is excellent. The owners are very nice.

This is one of the best donut places I have been. Donuts are old school and basic, not a ranch bacon whisky maple kinda place. The Large Jalapeño Cheese Kolaches are the best I have had! Get there early when they are hot from the oven!The basic maple and chocolate are spot on, donuts are crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Mmmmm.

Been meaning to try this place for a while. Went at 5:30 (very early in general, especially for me lol). Was greeted when I walked in and the nice lady was smiling while I was ordering the whole time. Clean inside and organized case of goodies. I ordered a bunch of kolaches, apple fritter, blueberry donut, and donut holes. Everything was warm and fresh! Flavors on point and the kolache dough was so light and fluffy. Best kolache I've had in Austin. Donuts were amazing too. Apple fritter was warm, and slightly crispy which is perfect. Overall this is the best spot for your donut/kolache fix! Always support local because it's a win win for everyone.
