My fiancé & I love Gourdough's. We went here twice and enjoyed it both times. As you can see, they have quite a thorough menu of donuts to pick and choose from. And their donuts aren't the traditional kind, as shown below. My favorite donut was the one with strawberries & Nutella on it. The cream cheese one was good too. Also, they have good energy & ambiance at this location in South Austin, and they even have cornhole boards to play on while they make your donuts. Definitely recommend this spot!

Personally I am not a doughnut fan, however my fiancé is so when looking up must try places in Austin I came across Gourdough's and wanted to let him have a try. The actual spot is very nicely decorated with a good amount of outdoor seating, shade, string lights, and even a corn hole area to spend time. The person who rang us up was friendly and gave us some recommendations which was nice. Now on to the doughnut, we ended up ordering the Flying Pig which is a specialty doughnut with house made maple icing and bacon. I did have a try and personally it was just waaay to rich and heavy for my liking but since i'm not really a doughnut person I asked my fiancé on his opinion and he said the same thing. The icing was really rich and comparable to a cinnamon roll glaze. The actual doughnut was very dense and deep fried tasting and the bacon bits/flavor was just ok.Also for a single doughnut it is pricey but for the portion size at least 2 or 3 people can share a few bites due to it's richness.

We were at the brewery next door and didn't realize they didn't serve food until we got there. However, this food truck was open and we hadn't had lunch. It's a donut truck, but they also serve sandwiches on grilled donuts!!! We decided to split a club sandwich. I don't know if it was the donut that made it so delicious or the cheese or both - but it was one of the most delicious club sandwiches I've ever had. If it wasn't for the fact that it has to be SOOO unhealthy, I would have eaten the entire thing myself. What a genius idea! Definitely stop by and check it out!

Finally a yummy dessert place!! We have everything on this Menchaca strip - bbq, live music, breweries, barber, ethnic food and snow cones AND NOW donuts! So stop by after the bars, after lunch/dinner and grab one of these amazing huge donuts!!We ordered the NUTTY VALENTINE that comes with strawberries and Nutella on a cinnamon dusted fried donut! Generous amount of strawberries and Nutella! Our son loved it!! Great afternoon dessert to share. In fact, it's so good we got it twice already this week! And on our second visit we got the FLYING PIG that comes with maple dressing and grilled bacon. I loved it! The maple dressing was delicious and the bacon was cooked just right!! It was a little too much maple dressing but you can just use what you need so plenty for any personal preference. We live close so we will be back!!

Went last year to the Austin location on 1st and had to come back! This time we were staying closer to the new Menchaca Road location so we decided to go to this location instead. It's an airstream set up with a lot of cute decor and lights and seating, also by South Austin Beer Garden. We ordered the nutty valentine (Nutella with fresh strawberries) and the black Betty (a cream cheese frosting one with a blackberry jam like topping. Both were good, I'd say even better then the 1st location closer to downtown Austin, and it was less busy so we got our donuts faster and tasted fresher! One of our favorite places to stop to get something sweet in Austin.

Did we see the opportunity to be the first to review the new Gourdough's location and use it as an excuse to justify our overindulgent sugary splurge? Sure did! Do we regret it? Sure don't! Gourdough's never disappoints in my book, and this location really has some advantages over the South 1st location that are worth noting. First, parking! It's free, it's plentiful, fairly easy in/out! Second, the menu! While I noticed some of my sweet, indulgent favorites were missing from the menu here, they were replaced by a more extensive savory menu that are reminiscent of the items that were once on the Public House menu. RIP, Public House. Third, the trailer is equipped with a microphone! That way, there's no mistaking whose name they're calling when an order is ready and therefore no angry lady with RBF glaring at you at the window when you kindly ask her what name she just shouted (ahem...South 1st location...) And lastly, they have some fun yard games to play while you wait. Overall, I think this location is a great addition and I'm so happy to see them up and running! Go and get yourself some big fat donuts!

I'm so happy they brought this truck down south! This place is my guilty pleasure when my partner is out of town. Their donuts are always fresh and topped with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend.
