The cold and dreary night made the illuminated Gold Burger Diner storefront reminiscent of the iconic Nighthawks painting but happier!
Eggs without salsa. The manager said that if they offer salsa, people will want tacos added to the menu, but they don't want to.

We finally visited Gold Burger Diner last Saturday night, and it exceeded my expectations in every way! This nostalgic diner is a true destination, embodying the classic American vibe in the heart of Georgetown's iconic downtown. The diner's architecture, interior design, and vintage decor transported us back to a bygone era. Every detail, from the recessed entry and antique storefront windows to the jukebox and Dr. Pepper machine, was meticulously crafted to recreate the nostalgic charm of a classic diner. But what truly made our experience exceptional was the authentic food and outstanding service. Our server, Chris, and the bartender, also named Chris, who seemed to be the face of the open kitchen, provided top-notch service. We were seated by the front window and enjoyed watching the bustling kitchen. Our party of three ordered different dishes from the extensive menu. I opted for the Beef Liver & Onions with brown gravy and bacon, which was cooked to perfection and rivaled the best lunch I've had at Luby's. My wife's eggs over easy with hash browns, melted cheese, and a grilled ham steak were equally impressive. My son's biscuits with cream gravy and fries were also a hit.Gold Burger Diner truly checked all the boxes, offering an unforgettable dining experience that we can't wait to repeat. Whether you're a fan of classic diners, lunch counters, or modern farm-to-table restaurants, this hidden gem is sure to impress.

This was such a bummer of an experience. After being seated right at the opening of the kitchen and waiting about 13 minutes without seeing a server, I asked someone if there was a server assigned to our table. There seemed to be some discussion along the staff, deciding who wanted it. Tara came by and asked for our drink order, with no acknowledgement of the unusual wait time. To be fair, there were busy but there are only about 13 tables in the place and there were at least 4 servers on the floor. We asked to order everything as this was a road trip stop. Altho there is no mention of it on the menu, Tara informed me that the golden bowl was not available after 11am, but suggested that I could order the classic plate and add hash browns and cheese. I accepted. Waters and coffee were brought it he table with the announcement that they were out of creamer. Food was delivered to the table by a runner. Scrambled eggs are prepared more like over hard, but they were good. Bacon is also good. Hash browns were very greasy. Pancakes were overcooked and burned on one side. At the point, we just wanted to eat and get back on the road. We pushed our half finished plates to the edge of the table to indicate we were done and waited almost 15 more minutes to get a bill. The suggested modifications to my breakfast dish made a $12 meals into a $16.50 meal. I think the only difference was two slices of dry toast which I didn't want or eat. Maybe we just got them on a bad day, given that other reviews are so high. Or maybe it was a day with no leadership on the floor as I did not observe anyone who interacted in a way that management might. But this was rough and I have buyers remorse.

The food was excellent. The breakfast sandwich, blueberry pancake, sausage, biscuits, and hash browns ! Also, you have to love the "old diner" atmosphere ! My favorite breakfast place in the Georgetown area Thanks, Joe Gray

We had big hopes for this place but were sadly let down. Needless to say, we will not be returning here anytime soon. I understand how a busy diner might have some downfalls but this was not an experience I would wish to have again. We put our names on the waitlist and waited twenty minutes. We went nextdoor and got a coffee while we waited. Then we got a notification our table was ready, we went next door and were seated at a filthy table immediately. Our host realized and came ba k with a towel to clean it.The food was delivered in a timely manner but was only okay. I had to ask for sauces to make the burger taste better than it was. The fries are $3 and they are not that great, I had to dip them in ketchup! Everyone at our table was not wowed by the food and service.

An eclectic selection of 60s-80s, easy listening #music mixed with rock #classics greet the ears, but not so insanely loud that conversations have to be elevated to be heard.Servers were friendly & personable; Carrie 'Flo' & Aidan we're attentive & welcomed every customer with a smile ;)Blueberry Buttermilk pancake + one egg over easy + a hearty cup of coffee, under $12... just what the #doctor ordered to start my Thursday in #Georgetown.#GoldBurgerDiner is located on the East perimeter of the Georgetown Square, a few doors West of the Georgetown Visitor Center.Street parking spaces line the street & seem to fill with shoppers around 9-930a.* Cody, Brady, Troy &... partnered to enhance #Gtown's retail #footprint via Gold Burger Diner, Mesquite Creek, Outfitters, Golden Rule, & CampRightSide.I totally recommend this place for a comfy space to enjoy a good meal, alone or with friends.

Came late on a Monday and only waited 10 minutes for a table. The greeters and servers were fantastic! Our table ordered a couple of double smashed burgers, chicken fried chicken sans the gravy and the Infamous liver and onions.. the chicken was enjoyed with the yummy mashed taters.... What is taters precious?? You know PO-Tay-toes... but I digress..If you've never had liver before , it's an acquired taste, and one bite brought back a ton of memories... it was really good, panko bread crusted and served with a delicious brown gravy and browned onions... and of course Taters.... As good as the liver was, the star of the meal was the burger... I snuck a bite, and it is the best burger in Georgetown... it's is outstanding!!I almost forgot the bowl of Texas chili I had as an appetizer... after almost having the first spoonful slapped out of my hand , I had to explain to the Mrs, that Texas chili has "NO BEANS!" Very good...

I was so excited to try this place off the square. The front area is very inviting and looks like a proper diner. However, the farther back you go in the restaurant the less of a nice ambience you get. It feels a bit like eating in a crowded hallway. My husband ordered the Swiss mushroom burger. He wasn't thrilled about it. I got the fried chicken sandwich, and I felt similarly underwhelmed. Both came with a basil pesto mayo, which was sadly the only thing with any flavor. The rest of the sandwich had no flavor and desperately needed salt. Another no go for me was that both sandwiches had shredded iceberg lettuce - in my opinion, if I'm paying over $11 for a sandwich or burger it should have proper lettuce. Shredded iceberg just ain't it. We also ordered a plate of fries as that was extra. It was $4 for a pretty big plate of fries, but I think I would've preferred a basket or something more appetizing. The ketchup came in plastic containers, which also added to the McDonald's feel. The fries were good but very thin and I prefer fries that are a bit more exciting at a restaurant. Lastly I ordered a mimosa which was served in a coffee cup. It wasn't very good to begin with but the coffee cup was just weird.... Anyway, I'd be willing to try this place again but I do think they have some Improving to do. Our server was good but seemed kind of listless, just like the lettuce.

My wife and I went in just before closing on Saturday around 8 and they close at 9. It was good fast service. We had no issues with the food. We loved it. Only thing was the Soda my wife got was flat. But Chris was quick to switch it out for a new drink that was better. When he came back he admitted their soda was flat and brought a better drink later. He was a great waiter, it was great service and a great atmosphere, my wife and I want to go back soon.
