We loved this place. Vongole pasta was delicious. Fish and chips was great (I don't know what they did with their fries but they were so good). Lobster roll was awesome. And they have a playground so kids were playing out there before and after lunch giving us adults some free time to enjoy the food. And our server was very friendly. I would definitely come here again.

I had the best experience at Garbo's. We went a little after lunch, so we probably missed the rush. We had a four top table to ourselves, and were really able to spread out. We ordered the fried crab cake as an appetizer. It was honestly enough to have a light meal in itself. For our main entrees, we ordered the spicy crab roll with Caesar salad and the hot honey fried lobster roll with fries. Oh my goodness, it was amazing. We split them in half so we were able to enjoy both. I did get an extra side of honey, and it really made a difference. We finished with a slice of key lime pie. They offer other desserts as well as an ice cream stand on site. The customer service was great. We saw a couple of groups celebrating late gift exchanges. There was a play area outside. I will definitely return with the kids.

Always an amazing experience at Garbo's. My wife and I came by for date night and we decided to order the Mozarella and Lobster Bites to start: fried mozzarella, lobster, shrimp, and Caribbean aioli. They melted in our mouths!!!! Sooooo goooood and flavorful. My go-to entree is always a medium-cooked "Garbo's Cheeseburger" with an added Butter Poached Maine Lobster and a Sunny-Side up egg. Biting into it is always my favorite part. The freshness and plumpness of the lobster, the ooziness of the yolk, and flavor of the beef patty--it makes for an amazing burger. Highly recommend it. Service is always great when we're here as well, always have nothing but great things to say!

Just get the frozen lemonade. Full stop. It's the perfect amalgamation of a drink and a dessert. Think of sweet Italian ice, shaved so finely that you can either sip it through a straw or scoop it with a spoon. Bright, bold, refreshing; they even top it with fresh lemon zest.Super nice people, easy stop off the highway. Grab a drink and stay hydrated out there.

I'm surprised I haven't been here before because this place is an establishment! It's so cute and really makes you feel like you're in New England with the vibes of the restaurant. I ordered a Connecticut lobster roll with a side of jalapeño coleslaw. For appetizer, we got the lobster mozzarella bites! The appetizer (devoured and sadly not pictured) and the slaw were both AMAZING. I could have a whole meal of just those. However, when it came to the lobster roll, it was mid. It wasn't as flavorful as I would have hoped and the lobster was a little chewy. The bread itself was really good though. As the main course, I do expect this to be something they have nailed down.Still it's a spot worth trying out when you're craving some New England seafood and especially great for large groups and a fun coastal ambiance. I would come back for my favorites on the menu and to try some other items!

It was really more of a 3.5 star experience. Food - 3 stars. Then Connecticut lobster roll was overcooked, chewy and dry. I could not taste any butter or lemon as was listed in the description. The brioche roll it was on was very good. Definitely could have used more scallions for flavor, not just a couple of strands for garnish. Fries were decent but not hot. Oysters were good. Burger was good. Nothing special. We did enjoy the "bubbles & bump" which is a glass of sparkling wine with a little spoon of caviar...the bump. Service - 5 stars. I wish I could remember her name!Ambiance - 4 stars. We sat on the patio. It was nice. There are fans. There is a placescape for kids.Overall, I probably would not return here because the big draw was the lobster roll, and it was the least good part of the meal.... unless someone I was with really wanted to eat there.

My visit to Garbo's was a delightful surprise, offering an experience that exceeded my expectations in many ways. Despite its prime, high-visibility location, the restaurant initially appeared less busy than I anticipated. This perception, however, was quickly dispelled when I discovered that the parking area is somewhat tucked away, making it easy to underestimate the number of folks grabbing a bite. I was immediately struck by the bright, open, and upbeat atmosphere. The lively vibe of the space set the perfect tone for the dining experience ahead. The bar was fun and the bar staff appeared to enjoy their work! We started our meal with the calamari and Brussels sprouts, both of which were outstanding--crispy, flavorful, and prepared with evident care. The star of the meal, however, was the lobster roll, which lived up to its reputation with fresh lobster stuff in bread roll The service at Garbo's was also impressive. I wish a could remember the gals name but she was not only attentive but seemed genuinely invested in ensuring we had a great dining experience. Remarkably, our food arrived within minutes of ordering, a testament to the efficiency of the kitchen staff. The drink menu offered a good selection, and we found the prices to be reasonable, especially considering the quality of both the food and the overall experience. In summary, dining at Garbo's was enjoyable. From the vibrant atmosphere to the excellent food and attentive service, every aspect of our visit was well-executed. It's clear that Garbo's is a gem North Austin, deserving of its reputation and certainly worth a visit.

Great meal on Garbos patio. The lobster grilled cheese was the showstopper. It was so decadent and rich and brimming with lobster. The lobster mac and cheese was loved by our kids and they also loved the fish and chips. I ordered the fish burrito as a bowl but didn't like it. It was too sweet for my taste but I give them props for their creativity. It was cabbage, herbs, fish, sauces, jalapeños, pineapple, etc. It was an explosion of flavor but the sweet threw me off. I wish they had few more fish options that weren't fried. Simple grilled or blackened would be amazing. The service was wonderful as well. We will be back!

The service was great, the place was beautiful, the tables were clean! Over all a beautiful spot. But the food... was a little overhyped. It's good but was expecting a lottt more for the price.

Garbo's is such an amazing spot to dine at on a hot summer day! We checked this place out maybe like 2-3 years ago and loved it then, still love it now.The outdoor seating is SO AUSTIN the picnic tables, the play area for the kids, the tarp that offers shade from the hot sun, and of course, the string lights. We sat indoors this time around and also ordered an appetizer which we usually don't do. The staff are so warm, you get to taste their beer if you'd like which my husband did even though he ended up with a blueberry soda and I opted for the Lemon Meade, basically a spiked lemonade.Appetizer: Mozzarella & Lobster Bites 10/10 Tiny Ball Bites that are so addicting and perfect to ease the hunger before the entree. Great portion for 2 people! Entree: Connecticut Lobster Roll with a House SaladMy go-to, my favorite! The lobster is so fresh and buttery and the roll itself is nice and warm as you would want it to be. I usually go with the fries, but glad that I did the side house salad instead. It was a good portion and a nice option to balance the fried bites, the bread, and butter! Great for small and large groups, parking is plentiful, what more do you want? Come and have a good time!
