Galaxy Cafe - Austin

I don't understand the sub 4 star rating. This is a great local spot and terrific for takeout. Not fancy but great for a good meal. We takeout a few times a month and it's always a nice meal.

A few things about this diner...Overall.. the food was good, even though one of my bacons was a little undercooked. We were basic in what we ordered, first time so we figure you cant mess up eggs and bacon and toast. The service wasnt.... Bad per sé, but they cant call themselves a diner when you order at the counter and then its brought out. It takes away from the diner experience and what if the service sucks? Do i ask for my tip back that you pre charged me? I ordered an a la cart pancake.. not bad, but, for 3$ for a 4 1/2 inch pancake, you can at least put a dab of butter on top and warm syrup... so not the case here. The food was good but absolutely overpriced.

While I've been to Galaxy Cafe before , it's been a number of years since the last visit. My friend and I had a late breakfast before heading out for a day of adventuring around Austin. Both our meals were tasty and well prepared. Service was efficient and friendly. Ambiance was casual and comfortable. The thing that stood out to me was was how unrushed we felt. The feeling I got that morning was that this was a place where friends can gather to enjoy good food and friendship. The Slaughter location is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. Recommended.

Great burger and fries with IPA. Typical eat breakfast there. It's all good. Staff is friendly and efficient.

We ate here yesterday for a late lunch and enjoyed it. We were able to walk up to the counter and order immediately without much of a wait, which was nice. They then brought the food out pretty quickly too, and everything was warm.I got the build your own burger and it was delicious! The fries were warm and very good as well. 5/5. My fiancé got the Brie burger and she enjoyed it, saying it was 4/5.Five stars though for good food & reasonable prices!

I like their wraps but also enjoy breakfast here. Today, I had the mediterranean breakfast with fresh fruit. I don't recall any Feta in it unless it was a tiny amount. The fruit cup had a great assortment and the cantaloupe was really good. The toasted ciabatta was yummy. Friendly staff this morning too!

I had lunch with my parents here on 11/11. The girl that took our order at the register was extremely nice, personable, and helpful. That in itself made a lasting impression. I had a bowl of tortilla soup and a side salad with their delicious creamy dill dressing. Everything had great flavors!I love the decor, but it is pretty loud inside. Great food and service makes up for that.This was my first time here, and I'll definitely be back!

The Portabella wrap here was absolutely delicious. My mom ordered it and I ended up stealing half of it from her. The flavors paired quite nicely together. We also asked for some chipotle mayo to dip the sweet potato fries in. I would highly recommend doing that! The Brie sandwich did not seem to have much flavor to it and I was disappointed in it. The staff seemed nice, but there were quite a few staff members standing around that did not appear to have any tasks to work on. I can't be sure though. This restaurant was also quite dark. While I do not tend to have issues with this, it made it very difficult to even read the menu. I wish it was a little brighter. We ended up taking the menus outside so that we could read them.Overall, I would give this place another try. I really did enjoy the Portabella wrap and I'm sure they have a lot of other tasty items on the menu that I did not get to try.

Very fresh ingredient used for enhancement in food taste and quality. Both I and my mom was amazed for their quality of taste. Very good deal of pricing and the amount of each dish was appropriate. The service of course was on point, nothing was disturbing my time with mom's holiday brunch hours.Ambiance was medium to low, the distance between tables are pretty distanced so the noise level does not get to interrupt to your table. Overall, very enjoyable cafe to have a good brunch time. I will definitely come back here often on the weekends with more family members joining.Thanks ;)

Love the mid century modern decor! Can't wait to try this breakfast. The service is quick and the quality is great!
