We came for happy hour (mon-thurs 4:30-6:30) and it was incredible! We shared the karaage (8/10) definitely a great take on karaage! We each got our own yaki flight (chicken thigh, Brussels sprout and sausage) and nigiri flight (tuna, whitefish and salmon). Cannot recommend this enough - this happy hour special is insane!! These were both so delicious and we were glad we got our own so we didn't have to share! We also got the miso glazed pork belly skewers on the regular menu - just get them! The pork belly was perfectly cooked and just melted in my mouth. We got the Tuna and cucumber special maki roll with a Thai chili mayo and it was a really cool take on a spicy tuna roll - absolutely loved this as well. I got the yuzu drop sake cocktail and could have had a couple of these lol they were perfectly sweet and flavorful! I love this cocktail The indoor is so cutely decorated and you can see the sushi bar and kitchen! The service was incredible - they explained the menu completely to us since it was our first time.

We have been looking forward to visiting Fukumoto for a while now. I'm glad we went with a group of 4 of us so we could try lots of different items on their expansive menu. The restaurant itself is really nicely decorated and a cute spot for a date or a friend gathering. Our server was really friendly and helpful over the course of our meal. I knocked a star off because the service was slower than I would have liked, but it was also a busy Friday night. We shared many different dishes: Tsukemono (pickled veggies), Kawa Ebi (river shrimp), Sawagani (river crabs), Cornflake Ebi (cornflake battered shrimp), Yakitori (miso pork belly, egg omelette, broccolini, sting ray, and chicken oyster), sushi rolls (Murasaki and Kimidori), salmon collar, and the Ube cheesecake. I think our groups favorite items were the Cornflake Ebi, Kawa Ebi, and the Yakitori. However, we really had a great time and a great meal.I look forward to returning to try more dishes.

Definitely an underrated sushi spot in Austin. Came here with friends and received a free dessert with candle from our server even though my birthday was months ago! Service was very fast and the staff were kind. Our server gave us great recommendations on what to order and did a good job explaining all the flavors and how they worked togetherDidn't get a photo of the sushi rolls we ordered, but each of the rolls tasted very fresh and had unique flavors. Definitely a cool spot to check out and I'd for sure come again

Another great night at Fukumoto! My boyfriend and I didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately. We found parking in the Corazon garage, which Fukumoto offers validated 3-hr parking for. We ordered several plates to share, including seaweed salad, several skewers, assorted sashimi, and 2 rolls. Everything was very tasty and fresh and came out quickly. Service was attentive, as always. We will be back!

Came here on a wednesday and they were able to give us a table for 5, the private dining room in fact. It was really nice to have the privacy to chat and be ourselves. The food was good but not all of the dishes were great. There was a gnat on the sushi roll and so none of us wanted to eat it, although I am sure we would've been fine. But the ube tiramisu was our absolute favorite. I don't recall it was on the menu, just that the chef/server shared that was available tonight. OMG, if you love ube, you need to get it. We were all fighting for the last piece. their izayaki is delicious as was the spicy yellowtail special. Such great service and such a nice ambiance to catch up with my girls.

BEST SUSHI IN AUSTIN HANDS DOWN.When I sat at the sushi bar and saw the Toyosu Fish market certificate at the bar, I knew this place was the real deal. Everything I ordered was fresh, tasted very delicious, and the service was so excellent that I felt very calm, and taken care of. As per the items ordered, I do not remember them accurately, so if my descriptions are off, now you know haha. The ambiance is very chill, even on a Saturday night with tons of people in, you can still have a great conversation, its not too loud. I will be coming back.

This may be our new favorite restaurant! We received amazing service from Trevor and truly enjoyed our experience here! I was thrilled that I could get my grilled gizzards and mentaiko pasta and my hubby could get delicious sushi.

GET THE UNI PASTA. This was hands down the best dish we ate. It was super creamy and flavorful. I want to come back just to get this pasta again! We ordered four skewers: unagi, negima, sunagimo, and yakiton. The unagi (eel) and negima (chicken thigh w/ scallions) were my favorites of the four we tried. The eel was so soft, and the chicken thigh was incredible juicy with a sauce that wasn't overly sweet. The yakiton (pork belly) was flavorful as well and had a nice char to it but was just on the tougher side for my preference. As for the sushi, you can't go wrong with either the tuna or yellowtail. We also ordered the chestnut mont blanc for dessert. I'm a HUGE fan of mont blanc, so I was excited to try this but it was just alright. I enjoyed the chestnut filling in the middle, but I felt it was lacking enough chestnut flavor overall.

Service was great. Came to happy hour tried every thing on the happy hour menu. Stand outs were the poke bites. I was not a tofu fan but my friends were about the spicy aged tofu. As a non-tofu eater, the fried one was more my speed. The fried chicken was great for sharing and a must to dip in their sauce. Yakitori sampler was also great for sharing. Daikon was simple but also had a great flavor. Sushi is priced per piece, the spicy yellowtail was amazing. The heat lingered in your mouth for a bit. The uni noodles were nice and creamy and perfect for an entree but was plenty to share as a party of 4. Don't skip out on the ube tiramisu. OMG it was light, sweet but not super sweet, fluffy and so worth the calories
