Foxhole Culinary Tavern

It was my first time visiting Foxhole Tavern, as I normally pass it when driving on 183 but never really thought much of it until recently.Came in for a Sunday brunch and started off with drip coffee, and the eggs benedict dish without bacon. Austin was the name of our server and he was super attentive and kind. The benedict dish was not too big or small---it was just right! The potato cubes had a light spicy seasoning and mayo sauce, but we were also able to request ketchup. In addition to the hollandaise sauce, the muffins were topped with a scrumptious spinach artichoke dip, and sliced cherry tomatoes were a sweet accompaniment on the side. My bf and I also shared a Belgian waffle, which came out beautifully presented. Just enough jam, syrup, and fruit! I also recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice. It can get pretty dark inside and sometimes there is a live band playing music so that cam be a nuisance if you prefer to eat in a quieter setting.

Sunday brunch at this place is very nice. They have a live band playing music. The food is good too definitely try the deviled eggs. Delicious. The service was on point and our waiter was attentive. We will definitely be retuning.

What can one say about the fox hole? Sadly it's missing the fox's, drove all the way here just to pet a fox.All in all, the ambience was great, felt like I had enough space where I didn't have to yell across the table to be heard. I've never had quail, the waiter recommended it, I'll have to go back for seconds... or fifths... the sauce and bacon added a bit of a sweetness that I didn't car fore but I'll definitely be back

All in all this is a great local spot! The staff are super friendly although sometimes busy and you have to flag them down. The food is good. Enough that I can go back with my friend who is here as her go to local place. On Taco Tuesday they have a cheeseburger taco that's delicious!!! The drinks are okay but always seem to miss the mark a bit. The espresso martini is lacking. Aperol spritz a bit too sour. I want to love them but they're just okay. I will say the inside is nice and always very clean.

This restaurant was a nice surprise when we were heading over to Alamo Drafthouse for a movie. The building is nice but somewhat anonymous in the Target mall parking lot in which it sits. Looks can be deceiving however as the interior is a very casual but attractive bar and dining room. Our dinner started with the venison meatball appetizer. The meatballs had a very smooth texture and no hint of game. It came in a spicy sauce that had the perfect amount of heat. It was really delicious and a great starter for the dinner. We had the meatloaf and a cheeseburger, both accompanied by a house salad. The salads were carefully assembled from fresh greens, not the usual Dole salad bag you often get, and dressed with homemade blue cheese. Both entrees were excellent as well, cooked spot-on with proper use of salt and spices. Everything came out of the kitchen hot as well, and the server kept up with drinks and making sure the food came right out to us. Overall, it was a great meal and we'll be coming back. Recommended.

This is a must to try.....If you can get in. I had the crab cake and wanted more. Darling waitress you can tell she likes her job.

I have been here a few times. Tonight I came for dinner. I ordered the large salad and a bowl of Venison Chili. The chili was a little spicy but overall a good flavor. The salad was crisp and fresh. Our server was good and ensured we didn't need anything else. There are several TVs and seating inside. A casual atmosphere looking for customers to come in and enjoy.

My wife and I came here once before, right after it opened. We just sat at the bar to check it out and had a few drinks as it was new. Her drink turned out to be too spicy for her, not their fault but on top of everything else it soured us. At the time the vibe was different, the bartender we had then was stand offish and we got the feel we were not the clientele they were looking for or wanted so we never came back. The drinks for the price at the time were also nothing special.I say this to preface that my first return since that time went leagues better. Shana came back once before with a friend. She picked this place on a whim to eat before a comedy show we were seeing later, and I admit on a return visit YEARS later the whole thing went much better. We were seated quickly, the server was friendly and checked in regularly without being overbearing. The choosing each others drinks thing we do seem to amuse her.SHANA SAYS: Foxhole Tavern was a 5 star experience. All around. The ambiance there is always great. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, genuinely delighted in our choices, and just warm and fun. My dish (tomato wild flatbread) was absolutely top notch and a lot of food for the price! Both my cocktails were attractive and delicious. The banana foster cold brewtini could honestly be a dessertThe Texas Trio takes a common appetizer: (chips and a variety of dips) and elevates it with top-tier made-in-house qualityI had the burger with fries, I get a basic Cheeseburger with bacon. The bacon was a large helping and very good. The burger was on the high end. Not Soul burger level but close. The fries were hot and good, I was much more impressed on this visit then the previous one. Also the price for the food and how good it was was lower then I was expecting. It is on the high end but not as bad I was thinking it was going to. We can recommend this place and will be back.

I love this neighborhood spot. Great food, happy hour specials, bartenders, staff, wine list, weekend breakfasts and bar atmosphere. I visit a few times a month. Today wS weekend breakfast wirh my sis. She is gluten free and they didn't bat an eye about options and ensuring how gf food is handled. Check it out!! My favorite appetizer is a bacon wrapped rolled quail breast with ream cheese inside and a pepper jelly. Mmmm

Girl time! The server was on point and always checking on us. We had to move to a bigger table without any issues. The food was amazing! Appetizers were good amount. The chips with three different dips and oysters were my favorite. We also ordered Jalapeños, flatbread tomato, desert-chocolate and pineapple I think. Quiet enough but not eerie. Clean. Nice lighting. Recommended!
