Flaming Bird

I love the grilled chicken. They also have good rice and beans. I love the corn .you get hot tortillas. Nice place to sit down and dine. Used to take my little grandson when he was five. He loved sitting there in dining area.

I placed an order through favor at about 6:30. I think that means the driver got there about 7. They were out of the mashed potatoes, onions and jalapeños. I also asked that they cut the chicken into 8ths, specifically asked them to cut the drumstick from the thigh, and the wing from the breast. They didn't do this either.I didn't care for the chicken, I thought it had little to not flavor, and for charcoal chicken the skin was barely seasoned and certainly not crispy in any way. I got the corn and the rice as sides (the rice replaces the mashed potatoes which is what I had really wanted) the rice was rice, not bad, not good, just rice. The corn was on, interesting, but again, nothing to write home about. They did give me extra corn tortillas for the inconvenience, but they are just store bought out of a package and they didn't even warm them up.Really, the only reason I gave them a 3 rather than a 2 star rating is because the price is certainly right...though maybe the reason everything was so mediocre at best is because you get what you pay for?Personally, I probably wouldn't be giving them a second try any time soon, or possibly at all. There are so many charcoal chicken places, not to mention just food options in general, when a restaurant misses the opportunity to knock it our of the park, they may not get another chance.

This joint is actually inside the HEB. They flame grill (gas) some good ass chicken and sell it for lunch and supper. Thanks again to Yelp or I may not have found this place for quite a while. I only work in Kyle. So really there is no need for me to go to HEB there. Today that changed. It was a Sunday and as I headed out for lunch a little voice in my head kept telling me there had to be some place yet discovered. There really ain't many decent options down in Kyle as everything is pretty much fast food. I punched the "restaurant" selection on the Yelp app, and, low and behold this place popped up.Off to HEB I went. The staff were nice and efficient. I got the 1/2 chicken plate that came with two sides and jalapeno's or salsa (can't have both or it's a 1$ upcharge), grilled onions and corn tortillas for $6.99 + tax. I chose charro beans and the fire roasted corn for my sides, and salsa instead of jalapeno's. I gotta tell ya that was a hell-of-a meal deal! I was really impressed with the chicken. It had a nice dry seasoning and wasn't over grilled which left it tender and tasty. The charro beans were also good, but, could have used some kick. The corn did have a slightly mild kick and was quite tasty. I scored a good lunch here and will definitely do them again. Reasonably priced and very convenient for lunch.When in Kyle.....

Not gonna like, I was reluctant. But I love H-E-B...so I'm sure I would love their chicken concept. I wasn't disappointed. From flavor to price to service...it was awesome. Great job H-E-B...no one does more...

Their chicken is sooooo good!! It's great to grab for an easy weeknight dinner. I haven't tried anything on else on the menu, but if the chicken is any indication, then I'm sure it's all just as good.

Ohhh so Good Flamed Grilled chicken! Another location found...which is great news b/c not all HEB stores have this add-on.Came in for lunch and walked into piping hot grilled chickens coming off the grill. Tender, moist meat not overcooked. Lots flavor!!$5 Quarter Chicken plate with two sides! Great deal!

A very good place to go and grab rotisserie chicken Or sausage for dinner. I go there and grab a few types of meat for dinner once a week.

My second time ordering. Food delivered cold. Chicken overcooked and very dry. Hard to chew and swallow. Totally different from 1st time I ordered. Inconsistent. Disappointing

The flaming bird at the HEB in Kyle was the dries chicken I've ever had...more like chicken jerky. The charro beams were cold. No tea was made and no straws. I normally don't do reviews but this was so bad I just had to. I'll never eat at this flaming bird again!!!

If you go in with the expectation that "it is what it is" you won't be disappointed. I did not expect a 5 star restaurant and with minimal expectations for getting lunch at an H-E-B I was pleased.The chicken was well prepared and moist, the sides were tasty the service attentive, and the price was even more tasty.Certainly not a top pick go to but honest well prepared food at a great price!
