Fixe Austin's Southern House

Being from the south, I KNOW what good southern food is! Given that Fixe's menu features so many classic hits, but with a $$$ price, I was definitely hesitant. Arriving for a dinner reservation, the ambiance of the restaurant is warmly lit and inside feels like a vintage Southern house. The space is adorned with antique-style mirrors on the walls, ornate ceiling fixtures, endless wood furniture and accents, and even a cozy patio with string lights.Our table shared the Deviled Eggs, Fixe Biscuits, Fried Chicken & the Lobster Crawfish Pot Pie. ALL the dishes were absolute perfection-- rich & comforting-- and I couldn't get enough!! It tastes like someone learned from their meemaw and elevated her recipes.

Fixe Southern House brings the Southern charm with a hip, moody vibe perfect for a Friday night dinner. We didn't have a reservation but were able to walk right in and were instantly hooked.The Fixe biscuits are everything... buttery, flaky, and absolutely unforgettable! For dinner, I went with the shrimp and grits, my absolute favorite dish that Fixe takes to the next level with creamy, dreamy grits and perfectly cooked shrimp. I enjoyed that with the Serrano Rita, a spicy / citrusy cocktail that's as bold as it is refreshing. The service was on point. Attentive, friendly, and just the right amount of chill. Fixe nails the balance between upscale and approachable - a must-try for anyone craving elevated Southern eats with a modern twist. Did I mention those biscuits? Worth a visit all on their own.

Awesome place. My sister in laws favorite for brunch. The fresh made to order biscuits can't be beat. I only knocked off a star because the server refused to drop off a carafe of coffee, insisting she would keep the cup full. It took almost 10 min to get the first cup so I pressed for a carafe. 10+ min for the next cup which she filled from a carafe 4' away from our table. No matter how many times I asked about coffee she rudely blew me off. I mean, you roll in after a long night / early morning on 6th you need some coffee. To ration it was plain silly, group of six so she's getting a nice overall tip right?

Saw the good reviews here so wanted to check it out for myself since I've been looking for some good southern food since moving to Austin. The food was great! We got the deviled eggs, shrimp and grits and salmon. The salmon was absolutely delicious the citrus flavor was great. Shrimp and grits really good too. Deviled eggs weren't the best I've ever had. The dirty martini was delicious and strong. The service was good but slightly slow. The only thing I didn't love was we were set at a table of two in the middle of the dining room and the leather chairs were way too low for two shorter girls. It was also pretty loud. All in all I would definitely go back again.

Southern Fixe is a gem in Austin that knows how to serve up Southern Louisiana comfort. My visit was made even better by the accommodating staff, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their warmth and attentiveness added to the overall experience. They accommodated us with deviled eggs which was whipped and dressed to perfection.The highlight of the meal was their biscuits--soft with a perfect crumble, paired with whipped butter and apple preserves. It was the ultimate fall comfort food, simple yet bursting with flavor. I also tried the Brussels sprouts, and they did not disappoint. Cooked to perfection, they were glazed with a sweet sauce that had just the right amount of heat. This "sweet heat" flavor made the dish standout. The fish and chips dish was okay, but only because I'm not the biggest catfish fan. Otherwise it was well seasoned and the fries and hush puppies were great.Southern Fixe delivers both in food and hospitality, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for Southern classics done right. I'll definitely be back!

Went here on my lunch break for a quick bite and heard the food here was amazing. First, looking at the menu, there were so many good options that it was hard to choose from! Our waitress was very attentive and the ambiance of the restaurant was very casual but classy - the perfect setting for lunch with your coworkers. I landed on the fish and chips and will say it did NOT disappoint! I was hesitant at first because I didn't want it to be "basic" (if that makes sense) but it was definitely an elevated taste! The fish was really crispy and full of flavor. The tartar sauce that came on the side was also great (that's a big deal for me haha), and the fries were fresh and crispy. I would say parking is it a bit sparse close to the restaurant, so if you're driving I would park in a nearby parking garage or street parking! I can't wait to come back to try their brunch menu, which I've heard is just as delicious.

Fixe brings a unique quality of exquisite pairing, a traditional flavors meets modern culinary. Service informative, with the touch of classic interior decor. And yes, their biscuits were must have.

Very good food and drinks. We had a private event there (business) with a big bill. No complaints whatsoever.

Updating my review to add new photos! This place always does a great job, great service, delicious elevated southern cooking, and nice ambiance for a special occasion. The biscuits are always a highlight!
