I was in the area and craving a coffee, so I stopped into Figure 8 after a quick Google search. There was someone ordering at the counter and 2 people sitting at a low table, but other than that, the place was empty. It was 8am, so this was perfect! I ordered a latte and a danish. I believe they get their pastries from Sour Duck, a bakery/restaurant on the East side. Both were delicious! I sat down at one of the 2-top tables by the wall, which had an outlet, and did some work while enjoying my drink and pastry. I looked around and was pleasantly surprised to see that most tables had outlets near them (which is rare!). There was free wifi (password: worththedrive) which made it easy to get some things done. The only thing I will note is that all of the seating options are pretty low to the ground, and the table I was sitting at was a bit lopsided/uneven, making it awkward to have my laptop, drink, and pastry in front of me. This wasn't too much of an issue, but worth noting nonetheless. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Somehow this time I've had a pretty bad experience here. Other than still having a nice aesthetic and a good amount of seating for the small space, the coffee was quite bad and the service was poor as well.Coming in, there was no greeting despite being in front of us. When we were in the middle of ordering, the guy interrupted us to talk to someone that came up after we had ordered half of our drinks. I don't understand how difficult it is to input the last two out of three drinks before attending to someone that came up randomly. He seemed to be in a tired mood.I ordered a cappuccino, mocha, and latte. I would say all of us are cafe hoppers around Austin. Although the latte art was well made, the taste was very bad. Very interesting that all three of us agreed that our orders tasted bad and bland and that it wasn't like this before.Keep in mind alternative milks are an upcharge as well. I drank about 10% before tossing the coffee away. Probably won't come back.

The joint was deserted.I had just been in Cherrywood which was not at all deserted. The tables are small for a place where one would want to sit down to get lots of work done. The room is not wonderful. The coffee is ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY DIVINE.Epoch on North Loop is godawful coffee in a cool room where you take whatever table you can get to be next to amazing people.Starbucks is functional coffee with large worktables and normal people.Figure 8 is magnificent coffee in an impractical room where you are all by yourself. How much do you want the reflected glory of nuts and idiots and poets and visionaries working next to you?How badly do you need a big workspace? How much does drinking actually superior coffee matter to you?The crowd, the table or the coffee ... it is up to you.

One word: Cozy. I love this coffee house! I visited this weekend on a crisp, cold afternoon for a date. The weather was overcast and I still needed to make a first impression of the a cute sweater dress. When I stepped into Figure 8 Purveyors, I forgot all about the weather. I am a plant parent, so I loved the dangling pothos. The little tea pots that accompany the cups were pleasant. I would definitely visit this place again.

Dropped in on our way into town, looking for an afternoon espresso pick me up. Our barista, Ryan, was on top of things and gave me the details on their two espresso choices, a more standard chocolate/caramel/nuts offering, and an Ethiopian fruit forward bean. I ordered one of each, and my wife opted for a pot of peppermint tea. Both espressos were served in proper servingware, with sparkling water. The classic was just a tad on the bitter side to my palate, but still good, with strong chocolate and "roasty" notes. The Ethiopian was right on, no bitter notes at all, and a delightful fruit finish. A bag of Peruvian beans I grabbed for later was only 10 days off roast and needs more rest, but was quite good as a pourver at the hotel.Great spot!

This is my second visit to a Figure 8 (last time I went to the other location in East Austin). This location seems like the newer branch of Figure 8. Compared to the other location, this branch is more contemporary with ample of clean seating. It was, however, a bit too dimly lit for my old eyes to comfortably do work. The parking situation here was easier as well. When we walked in, the barista greeted us and was very nice and fast. We ordered a cappuccino and an iced lavender latte. The drinks were good, but I could tell the beans weren't as fresh as my last visit. Although we didn't try any, there were a variety of pastries for sale. They also sell the day old ones at a discount.

Not a bad place to have a business meeting or just camp out and study. I picked this spot off a whim because we were close and I wanted some good coffee. It was a bit pricey and for my taste but the ambiance made up for it so I was happy.

Stopped by this coffee shop in a very unassuming strip mall. The place was pretty cool and quiet. The two clerks were absolutely fantastic in helping me choose some beans to take home. I'm new to the whole pour over thing and they helped me navigate something new to try. I ordered a hot latte to drink there, it was really delicious! I was hoping to try some sort of pastry, but I guess I came too late and their offering were sparse. Definitely will be going back whenever I'm in area for my haircut.!

Last time we visited this place was in July and they did not disappoint. The service was on point. It seemed at the time that they had just opened. If I recall, the entrance was roomy and the staff was friendly. They also had their coffee bags displayed on the wall for purchase, which was great because they had other coffee grounds that seemed worth buying. My partner purchased one from Mexico and his coworkers enjoyed the coffee once he made it for them when we returned to LA. Will return again. :)
