Ordered through Uber to give it a try. Ribs were tough and tasteless. The potato salad was decent and the cheesecake was ok. Wings were ok...

This is a virtual kitchen inside of a Johnny Carinos located next to I35 and near P Terrys. So if you are driving around looking for this barbecue joint you will not find it. This Johnny Carino's location just so happens to have a secondary business located inside. This business just started in early April of this year. Despite being located inside a restaurant, their food is to go only. It is best to place your orders online or call them directly. I made the mistake of ordering at the counter which they do not prefer you to do which meant a wait time of 20 minutes. I've had the pleasure of traveling around Texas sampling some of the best barbecue in the state as well as everything else in between. To be honest, this place does not rank very high on the list of what should be considered "great barbecue". The brisket had no discernible smoke ring or smokey aroma and the coleslaw was nothing special. The ribs were the best part of the meal and they were pretty decent. However, these ribs reminded me a lot of how my wife prepares them in a pressure cooker and then bakes them in the oven for half an hour with barbecue sauce. The meat did have a smattering of barbecue sauce which was kind of thick and somewhat sweet. I asked for a side of their cheesy Mac, but they gave me these previously frozen fries out of a bag instead. When I got home I was surprised that I did not find any napkins, cutlery or BBQ sauce. It doesn't appear at this point they have all the kinks worked out in the business, so it would be wise to check what's in your bag before you get home and not after.

First time trying Famous Dave's BBQ. Am very impressed with the quality of the sides Garlic Red Potatoes and Cole Slaw made with fresh vegetables and delicious! Also impressive is the excellent quality of the containers for the sides dishes which are sturdy and tightly sealed which is great to prevent leakage. The serving box is a sturdy container with a layer of aluminum foil in bottom which is also great to prevent leakage. The BBQ sauce and meat seasoning is delicious. I would have rated a 5 Star but the ribs were a bit over cooked which caused a dryer meat. The ribs were still delicious just wished they had not smoked until a little dry.I selected delivery which was $5 and 27 minutes late plus they did not knock on door, just left food on porch and left. Fortunately I saw delivery walking across grass with bag.My only suggestion which a recommend to all restaurants offering delivery is the method of heat seal on the the plastic bag to prevent delivery from opening food. The heat seal is used by PF Chang's and is very reassuring to prevent tampering or bugs possibly crawling in bag when left on ground and no knock on door.In conclusion I would definitely order again.

We love Famous Dave's! I'm from Chattanooga, Tennessee and my hubby is from the Austin area. Although I've lived here nearly 16 years, I can't get down with what Texans call "great bbq!" It's definitely not the same as what we have in Tennessee. My hubby loved traveling home with me to partake of Famous Dave's, then a while back we realized they were closed in Chatt. So disappointing! But to my surprise, I was perusing Uber Eats for dinner and saw a Famous Dave's in Austin! How exciting! This bbq place is "different " than what Texans are use to, but in a good way. Hands down best bbq in Austin!!!

Ghost kitchen doing justice to some amazing food y'all! Support this Native American franchise hailing from the northern part of the states that pay homage to southern bbq techniques. So far we've tried their wings (traditional and boneless), bbq half chicken, brisket sando, pulled pork sando, coleslaw, fries, mac & cheese, and oh damn... their cornbread muffins.Do yourselves a favor and give these folks a shot! It's a breath of fresh bbq air in a region stagnated with just Texas style bbq!

Absolutely worst customer service that I can remember. I ordered dinner tonight on Famous Dave's website at 6:12pm and requested "delivery." My order was supposed to be delivered at 6:50. At 6:52 I got an alert that the driver was approaching so I walked to my front door watching the window. I waited a few minutes and then I received another alert indicating that the order was "delivered." I immediately contacted the restaurant at 7:07 and the female that answered passed me to the manager, who had a heavy spanish accent with a name starting with an "R" - he then explains that there is nothing he could do because their orders are managed by Doordash. He tells me I need to call Doordash directly. I then begin to explain to him that I didn't order via Doordash and as the agent for them, he needed to do the footwork to find where my order is and contact Doordash and have them call the driver to see where he left my order. He acted as if he had no idea how Doordash worked. Additionally, because I didn't order via Doordash, the order was not in my Doordash profile so I couldn't complain to Doordash customer service because there is no phone and everything is via their website. Since the Famous Dave order was not attached to my profile, I couldn't submit an issue to them because you have to select an order for a customer support request. Finally the manager said he would see if he could do anything. He calls back at 7:28pm and repeats the entire conversation, rudely, speaking over me when I try to ask if I need to place a 2nd order or if they are going to replace the lost order for me. He refuses to replace the missing order, unless I go in person to the restaurant when it's 37 degrees outside--that's why I ordered delivery in the first place. He then tells me that it will be 4-6 days before he has an answer or refund for me. I have contacted my credit company directly to reverse the charges and submitted a request to their corporate headquarters to report the unprofessional behavior of this employee. He obviously has customer service skills and needs to be in the back of the house, not interacting with paying customers.I highly recommend NOT ordering from this location. I never got to try the food but I will never support this business location. Austin has too many great restaurants and the competition is stiff - with this type of service, this place will never last.FOLLOW UP: I posted the mystery of the lost sandwich on Nextdoor and I did find out where the delivery ended up the following day. Hope the manager who insinuated that I lied about the sandwich sees this and recognizes his error. Corporate HQ needs to train whoever is running this location or hire more competent leadership to run this branch. My credit card company is refunding the charge since neither the local branch OR HQ responded to my issue via phone or the online customer form. Thanks for nothing!

Bought gifts certificates that I considered a bargain and now can't wait to get rid of them. I spent $89 for a family size meal: ribs that were eatable but nothing to brag about, Georgia Chopped Pork (that was nothing but a lot of fat sitting on a slice of bread , cole slaw that ended up being thrown out (no one would eat), baked beans, potatoes and corn bread was the only thing good. When I use up my gift certificates I will never eat there again. When buying gift certificates from them you can only place orders on line. I placed my order the day before but when I arrived for pick up, they showed the order on file but said for some reason the the computer had cancelled my order. It took 45 minutes for the manager to finally agree to key in codes to accept the cards, I didn't like the food or their customer service. I have $40 in ecards left ti get rid of. Turns out not such a good deal after all.
