Ensenada ATX

I was hungry and craving fish tacos while in the area so I decided to try Ensenada ATX. The staff was lovely and their daughter was selling her homemade treats right in front of the truck.I ordered the following:Fish taco con todo $7Tostadas de ceviche $8The fish taco con todo comes filled with cod, their secret batter recipe, cabbage, pico de gallo, and mayo sauce on corn tortilla. The ceviche comes with ensenada style fish ceviche with pico de gallo con todo mayo and avocado. Both items were excellent! I almost went back for another order of fish tacos, but refrained since I also ordered a brownie from their daughter's table. The brownie was moist and delightful. This was honestly one of my favorite meals during my stay in Austin!

I came to this spot last weekend as I was in the area. For those of you who don't habla Espanol, the namesake of this location 'ensenada' translates to "bay" in English. It can also refer to the following: an inlet, which is a small bay in the coastline of a sea or lake or a cove, or a small bay or inlet of the sea. Soooooo what should be served here? Tacos which are made from fish and/or things from the sea. When here, I ordered two menu items to include a shrimp taco and ceviche. I am personally a fan of wild-caught shrimp, such as the Key West Pink Shrimp from Florida's coast, as they add a healthful boost to any meal. These shrimp thrive on a natural diet of plankton, snails, and small fish, making them an excellent and nutritious choice for anyone looking to eat a bit healthier. In general, I enjoy just about every kind of taco, but any type of crispy seafood taco just holds a special place in my heart... and stomach! These crispy shrimp tacos were plump and accompanied by slaw and pico de gallo. The shrimp batter on this dish was bold enough to stand alone and required little salsa as illustrated by the accompanying photo for this review. The ceviche was fresh and was finished off with a bit of lime. Both menu items were perfection and would make a great summer or spring time meal. As a special treat, a contestant from master-chef junior who is the food truck owners granddaughter/daughter was selling her home made brownies in front of the truck. I was lucky enough to snag two decadent peppermint brownies. This truck offers not only tacos but three generations of homemade local goods made with love. #supportlocal

Shrimp taco over fish taco !A taco food truck focused on seafood tacos. I highly recommend the shrimp taco over the fish taco if you had to choose just one. Both delicious but the shrimp taco was just more crispier! The food truck is located in Arbor Food Park along with other good food trucks. There's a good amount of picnic tables for you to dine at.

I would have never known about this place other than my friend saying I have to try her homemade fish taco.... and her muse - Ensenada. So fish tacos are my jam. It's just, where do you find them? So of course I had to try this place out immediately.She was right - fish.tacos.on.point. The batter was crunchy, flavorful, not too thick.The fish was nice and meaty. Not fishy at all.The slaw was thinly shredded adding a nice cool crisp crunch contrast.The sauce just right and not overpowering.The tortilla was thin enough to not overpower texture but thick enough to play its job of holding strong.Alright Austin - the standard for fried tacos has now been set.

A sunny orange food truck on a 72F day, hanging out with a mostly ACL crowd nourishing-up for the last day of the last weekend. But let's talk about these fish tacos, Ensenada, Baja California style. These are lightly battered and fried bits of white fish or shrimp, served with crisp strips of cabbage, pickled red onion and drizzled with a chipotle-infused mayo. Ensenada ATX has nailed the batter/fry combo resulting in light, crunchy and even pillowy morsels of flavor. I am not a fan of tostadas and chalupas because it isn't possible to eat them without making a mess. However, the ceviche tostadas here are delicious enough to justify the hassle. These are served with luscious slices of avocado and a lime segment. You can bring your own beer and couple it with this establishment's Michelada for your own Mexican Bloody Mary. Service was friendly and efficient.

You might think ceviche from a food truck in the summer would be a bad idea, but this was SO fresh and cold. The woman running the truck was also so sweet.The tostada was extra crispy despite the large mound of ceviche. No hint of fishiness whatsoever, just limey with fresh avocados and tomatoes. It also came with a side of chips and salsa that had a good amount of heat. The perfect pair to have in the summer after a day of swimming.

the last time I was in the owners recommended I try this chili oil type salsa that are making from scratch. I can't recommend highly enough. I will be purchasing a bottle the next time i make it over there... It has a very unique warm, smokey flavor and probably has dozens of applications. It think they are bottling it now.

Found this place after stumbling into a food truck lot. We surveyed the options and found this bright orange truck in the way back. The lot itself was cute with ample shade trees. First thing I loved about this spot is the owner's adorable cashier, her daughter. Not only did she take our order efficiently, she did so with the upmost poise. I was very impressed. She also almost sold me on her homemade brownies. I'm sure they were awesome based on my experience with the rest of the food. Next time!We split a ceviche with shrimp and a Baja fish taco (light meal, gf wasn't too hungry). Standout dish for us was the ceviche. It was so fresh!! It reminded us of the ceviche we recently enjoyed in Ensenada. Ripe avocado on top was perfect. The fish taco was fantastic as well, super light and crispy. I smashed it, with my only minor nit being it was a little heavy on the creamy sauce. Would I come again? Hell yes. The owner herself, also a very nice young lady, is from Ensenada, so you know the food is legit. Gracias!

Located in one of my favorite food truck parks, Ensenada keeps me coming back for their ceviche tostadas. The fish is cut very finely, creating a texture that retains a lot of juiciness from the lime with each bite, and the flavors are bright and oh-so-refreshing; perfect for beating the heat on those sweltering summer days! I really enjoy their fried fish and shrimp tacos, too, which don't skimp on the protein and have a very satisfying crisp to them.

Best fish taco and shrimp taco I've ever had, hands down. I didn't get a photo of the shrimp taco because I ate it so fast!
