El Michoacano Mexican Restaurant

My favorite Mexican restaurant really authentic taste of the border Carnitas plate this is what I always order and every time it is just as good as the last time the meat is tender, juicy and full of seasoning. I keep telling myself I need to try other items from menuChicken enchilada with green sauce hubby loved it not to salty just a little spicy but he finished his plateChips is the best and salsa Yelpers support this family owned restaurant it truly is delicious

This place is so close to our house & we had been wanting to try it for a while on a recommendation from a friend! Please be advised the building is a little worse for the wear but don't let it deter you from trying the fabulous food. Upon entry we were greeted & advised to sit wherever we would like so we chose a corner table by the window. The place was pretty quiet but there were a few other patrons inside. Our server offered some drink options & we ordered straight away. I had the Chicken Flautas atop Bandera sauce, with a side of refried beans. The flavor medley ever evident within the flauta plate is spectacular. I highly recommend getting the bandera sauce which consists of red sauce, green sauce & white sauce (sour cream). The rice is so full of flavor & complimented my dish very well. The beans I will say are so creamy but lacking a little bacon flavor. My fiancé had the Beef Fajita taco plate which came with rice & beans. He found that the flavor of the beef was lacking a little something as well. Perhaps the addition of salsa would have added to it, which is very delicious. The salsa has just the right amount of spice to not overpower your tastebuds & the chips were amazingly fresh & crispy. I would recommend this place for a quiet lunch & the only reason it isn't 5 stars for me is because of the state of the building itself.

The food is great, the free salsa and chips are delicious. The chips always come out warm/fresh.. the salsa is the perfect blend of flavor and spicy and I don't really like too spicy so this one is perfect. The lemonade is the best and natural lemons are used. The tortillas are hand made/fresh everyday. It's not easy to have hand rolled tortillas de harina and maíz fresh on the daily so I applaud them for that. Overall, the best Mexican restaurant I've been to in Austin.

Wonderful and excellent! Can't wait to bring guests here. Loved all the dishes. It's right across from the airport so if your out of town guests want to eat Mexican Food, they will be pleased. Great beer margaritas!

Great hidden gem hole in the wall restaurant!! So glad I ventured out and tried this. Very great tasting food and at a reasonable price! Service was great and staff was super friendly.

Wow. What a terrible experience. Actually, I'm lying. The enchiladas are off the chain and delicious. However, it was clear that the staff did not like me, I was obviously there on my lunch break, the restaurant was like empty and it took me like half an hour to get my food. No respeto. No respect. I literally think they didn't like me because I'm white. Alls I can figure. They were pretty rude. The entire wait staff was just sitting around at a table while the kitchen took 30 minutes to turn out some enchiladas and charge me $17.99 for them when they were listed for $11.99. I did not tip. With Austin coming to Del Valle, as it is, places like this are going to have to up their game. Because some people expect customer service in terms of it doesn't take half an hour to get your lunch out when the restaurants empty. I really like the food. But I won't be back. I will go over to Jasmine's. Where the wait staff is very very nice.

Lil "hole in the wall" place. The service was great! The food was awesome! And the beer was cold!! Can't wait to go back. If you are near the airport, this is a must stop.

The food is absolutely amazing! Friendly waitstaff. do not be put off by the location or exterior ... Best Mexican food ever.!

Food is not fresh, the rice was not fresh, low food quality, definitely not a good place to eat

I gave four stars because I wasn't able to eat here (no meatless options) but that's not unusual for Mexican restaurants. This is a little hole in the wall restaurant! My husband got some kind of chimichanga plate. It was responsibly priced around $13 check out. The staff was friendly and inviting.
