Cheap cold beers, good vibes, and fun karaoke earns a 5 star rating from me.We came here on a Friday night around 7 so it wasn't busy at the time and were able to grab seating right by the stage. Around 8:30 people starting to pack in but it wasn't overwhelming at all. Lots of really great singers too so come prepared with your go to favorite songs!I will definitely be going back with some more friends and might even have the courage to sing a song!

A group of about 12 of us arrived at this bar on a Friday night, and within an hour, we were unceremoniously kicked out. One of our friends was cut off without cause, and another was denied a simple beer despite there being no reason for such treatment. The bar was practically empty, which made this experience even more baffling and insulting.The bartender was nothing short of rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. As a proud Austinite, it's disheartening and upsetting to feel rejected and unwelcome for the simple crime of "looking different." This kind of behavior has no place in this city or in the service industry, for that matter.I'll never return here. If I wanted to feel this unwanted, I would have gone back to my ex. Never again.

If you're looking for karaoke...don't come here. Kevin the KJ doesn't know what he's doing. He lost track of the list and made a huge mess of the lineup. And then his computer "crashed" in the middle of someone's song. Then he had the audacity to tell ME and my buddy that WE brought his "vibe down" but he still bumped us up in the list only because we called him out (we BOTH tipped him $5 right when we arrived).The drinks were fine. The bartenders were AMAZING. The KJ (Kevin) needs to be replaced.

Ego's is one of the very very few karaoke bars in Austin. So obviously it can get very crowded here quickly.I mean, you get a stage, and can karaoke for free while having some tasty drinks, who wouldn't be up for it?!We had a great night at Ego's although most of the karaoke singing was hogged by a couple of enthusiastic groups and the remaining people in the bar just hung out and enjoyed the music.

Yay! I made it to the legendary Ego's!! Most known for karaoke, this eclectic dive bar in Austin is what some might consider a hidden gem.I consider it a bar for locals (and tourists alike) where you can get an ice cold beer, yummy cocktail, or mocktail and just relax with friends and other patrons.The mocktail menu is really good! I was actually pretty surprised to see it. Not even sure why I was. Weird. But they are good!!The bartenders get insanely busy and are on it! Without missing a beat, drinks in hand with a smile and kind word.Can't wait to go back!

Came back again recently and it's pretty much more of the same. It was a fun boozy Thursday night at Ego's. It's most definitely a hole in the wall and walking up to it felt like I was gonna get jumped and have my organs harvested. But it turned out to be a really fun night of karaoke. Service was pretty good despite it being packed. The bartenders actually served me rather than focusing on the women. The karaoke needs to be better organized. The line to sing was long. Picking a song either at the DJ booth or on the app was confusing. They do provide covers so you're not spitting all over it and germs aren't easily spread.

An iconic Austin karaoke dive bar that you MUST visit at least once! If you love to karaoke this is your spot or if you just want to listen and people watch. Recently we all had a bit of a scare that they may have to close down, but so glad that didn't happen! We laughed, we sang, great times were had!

Karaoke night with just hits different when you have friends and strangers hyping you up! I've come here twice now with a couple friends and the vibes are vibing here. Not to mention their drinks are surprisingly pretty affordable compared to many bars in downtown Austin plus you get to sing and dance your heart out. Not featured in the photo are their green tea shots that are so freaking good!

"Ego? More like No-go."This place is all flash and no substance. The bar seems more interested in its image than providing a good experience for its customers. The staff acted like they were too cool to be working there--ignoring us and rolling their eyes when we asked for help.The karaoke setup was a nightmare. The sound system had more feedback than a cheap mic at a middle school talent show, and the song selection was laughable--good luck finding anything newer than 2005. Plus, the vibe of the place was straight-up pretentious. Felt more like a popularity contest than a karaoke bar.To top it off, the drinks were overpriced, and the "signature cocktails" tasted like they came from a gas station slushie machine. Ego really needs to take a long, hard look at itself and remember what a karaoke bar is supposed to be: fun, welcoming, and not so full of itself.1/5 stars. Skip it.

Wish I could give this place a zero star. My boyfriend and I went and were having a good time, recently moved to the area and thought we found a new fun bar. Had three drinks after we went out for dinner, then out of absolutely no were asked to leave, no reason no cause. This place is shitty and racist, all I have to say after they kicked me and my Hispanic boyfriend out for absolutely no cause, paid our tabs plus 20% each drink. Hope they figure theirselves out bc could have potential other than who's working currently, will not return
