I've lived in Austin for over five years and I've had pizza once a week during that time, so I feel pretty qualified in judging pie. A recent walk to Hop Squad on an unseasonably warm day yielded some truly special carbohydrate discs. The aroma of the Dough Squad truck, combined with decision-making lubricated by a few of Hop Squad's delicious selections, led us to give the Dough Squad a try. We ordered the Tenderoni and the Kramer Lane. The crew members were friendly and efficient, and a short time later we walked home with our boxes full of goodness. Simply put, the best pizza I've had in Austin. Period. The texture and thickness of the crust was perfect, the amount of cheese was just right, and the toppings were explosions of flavor (I particularly loved the cupped pepperoni). We try to walk over to Hop Squad at least once or twice a month, and the knowledge of this impeccable pie will certainly add to the pull. Well done guys, well done.

Pizza was absolutely delicious! I loved the crust and big pieces of pineapple. Was slightly disappointed by the size of the dough pocket. I was expecting a small calzone, but it's actually more like an empanada. It also came with a salad which was great but not listed on the menu, but maybe helps explain the price. Loved the fillings though, just wish it was a bit bigger or more clearly listed!

My family went to this place while drinking at the brewery next door, and the consensus was that the crust was a bit like a burnt cracker, though everyone agreed the pizza itself had a good flavor. Seems like the kind of place you'd go to because it's the available option next to where you're drinking, but not the kind of place you would intentionally drive out to eat at. It did the trick for dinner and drunchies and that's about it.

Normally I don't review food trucks; hence the lack of a photo; however I feel compelled to make an exception here. We were enjoying some brews next door at Hopsquad and decided to order a pizza from Dough Squad. We chose the Kramer Lane Papi pizza with mozz, cheddar, goat cheese, pepperoni, sausage, scallions and pickled red onion. We were expecting a run of the mill, basic pizza, to help wash the beer down. But what we got was a really (really) good pizza which became the star of the night for us. The pizza was chock full of protein and the crust had that nice slight chew to it along with a great taste. We both were impressed with the quality and quantity of ingredients on this pizza and, although we didn't finish it all, I'm about to hit the fridge for leftover happiness :) Seriously, for a food truck, this pizza rocks.

Ordered from this truck while enjoying a flight of beer at Hop Squad. My friend and I split 12" The Tom Garlicchio and added regular cheese (they have vegan cheese as well). The portion size was perfect for sharing and seemed larger than other 12" pies I've seen elsewhere. I liked the addition of parsley and capers (why don't more pizzas have capers?) though I wish there was a bit more of the toppings present. The cheese was delicious and while the tomato sauce tasted fresh, it seemed to be lacking any sort of seasoning and just tasted like tomato to me. The crust was ok, more spongey than doughy.Service was friendly and informative and it didn't take too long to get our pizza out. Lots of ample seating at the brewery. Prices were modest and according to my friend they have the nicer individual packets of Parmesan.

Pizza was absolutely terrible, seriously overpriced and we waited almost an hour for it. And the rudeness of the staff just added insult to injury. Bypass this place altogether and hit the food trucks next door. No redeeming qualities here whatsoever.

We love Doughsquad. The pizza is what you need when you need it. We aren't hating on Doughsquad. But it must be said. The fried pickles need work. Individually there are some great elements to them. The breading is tops. The temperature is amazing. I've never had pickle spears that didn't scald my mouth upon first bite, and these are perfectly warm without dipping in either extreme. But the pickles lack flavor and have an odd aftertaste. The dipping sauce leaves one wanting for ranch dressing, though it pairs well enough with the breading. Truth be told, I didn't finish a single pickle. The combination of it all was too sweet and my heart craves the salt and sour of what one comes to expect of a fried pickle. My friend picked out the pickles and ate the breading. We love you, Doughsquad. Change the pickles.

Dough Squad is Austin's newest pizza joint and they're already a top 3 in my book.I got two 12" pizzas:- The Chismé: red sauce, cheddar, mozzarella, Oaxaca cheese, parmesan, lemon zest, and parsley - this was phenomenal! I like how flavorful it was with the 4 different cheeses. It wasn't heavy either as the amount of cheese is a standard amount. The lemon zest adds this small bright kick with each bite and honestly I have 0 complaint. $14. (5/5)- The Funguy: cilantro mornay (a creamy, cheesey sauce base with cilantro), mozzarella, mushrooms, shallots, and lemon zest - I don't like mushrooms, but this pizza could convert me. Great flavor, great texture. A great choice if you want a white pie. $14 as well. (4/5)All in all, I was highly impressed with this spot. They cook them very well and give them a great texture and structural integrity. (AKA, they aren't greasy or the ingredients don't fall apart)With the pizzas at 12" and $14, they come out to be some of the most affordable pizzas in town and given the high rating I gave them, they would be the best bang for your buck in terms of value! With that said, I give them a strong 4.5/5 for being amazing!
