Dosa Labs

Tried this place with some friends for dinner and it was decent. Their menu caught my eye with all of the dosas and the unique, fun offerings like tikka masala nachos and pasta. If you visit during their "open" hours and they're closed, it may be because they're sold out of items. It may be worth calling ahead if you're interested and don't want to be disappointed upon arrival. We went around 5:15pm on a Sunday and ordered everything we wanted for 3 people, but they turned their open sign off right after. I ordered the last order of their chicken tikka masala.It's a food truck in the Domain so it's on par with food truck/Domain pricing. Order at the window and they'll bring the food out to you when it's ready - either for takeout or to eat there. The food was just okay for me - and perhaps it's because their dosas are where they really shine, so maybe I should have ordered that instead of tikka masala. I spent about $26 on tikka masala with extra naan and a mango lassi. Overall, the food was okay but not worth the value to me - I've had better at other places.FOOD RATINGS:- Tikka masala (3/5): Good portion size, but pretty bland overall. The sauce had a kick to it but was watery and just lacked that rich flavor . The rice was also not very fragrant and did not add anything to the chicken.- Naan (3/5): One simple thing would make this 100x better: garlic and butter!!! It was soft and had good texture, but basic and bland.- Tikka masala nachos (4/5): These were pretty good. The chips were really good, homemade style. Would order these again, as they're also a unique combo!

Wow!! What a great find! What?! This is some great food. Some traditional, some unique twists, i love it! I love Indian food, especially authentic food and South Indian food. And this is soooo delicious!This food trailer in the Lone Star court. Parking was a little tricky but if I had known I would just easily have parked in the Dillards garage. They have nice picnic tables outside or great to go containers. Greeted with a smile and great attitude. Nice! Hard to find that in Austin these days. Prices are reasonable, around 16.00 for a plate. Half for appetizers. And great selection.I tried the dhokla, which melted in your mouth! I had tried this before somewhere else and it was good. They added these two delicious chutneys. I also had the artichoke Dosa. I love Masala Dosas so this was a risk. And so worth it, I LOVED it. So many delicious flavors and also more unique sauces. The food is like a twist on traditional Dosas. But I think they also had a few traditional items.I Can't wait to come back!

WOW! Dosa Labs was a very pleasant surprise. Being married to an Indian woman I've had my fair share of Dosa. For those that have never had one: dosa is a thin savory pancake in South Indian cuisine made from a fermented batter of ground black lentils and rice.We ordered the masala dosa and it had a buttery balanced flavor with a great kick from the masala. But don't take it from me. Take it from my wife's 94 year old Indian born grandfather that was shocked he was having this good of a dosa in Austin Texas.We will DEFINITELY be back!!

Not open during posted hours, which is a shame as the menu looked good and location was ideal for me today. No signage or posting explaining the status or availability of services. The ambience is a parking lot next to the hotel which isn't a ding just know this is a food truck not restaurant

Stumbled across this food truck while walking around the domain with our dogs. Had the samosas, parotta melt, and chicken tikka masala. Yummy food and excellent service. I'll be back to try the nachos!
