Donut Taco Palace II

Don't be fooled by appearances- this place is legit! My kids are picky and they absolutely LoVE this place. It's our - every Sunday morning - tradition. I think it's most people's weekend tradition because a lot of locals go there. They almost always sell out before they close. They are open everyday same time and consistent.We've known the staff for 4-5 years now and they know all of my kids and in-laws. The donuts are always good and they diversify their selection regularly. They have seasonally decorated donuts for common holidays and schools like UT Austin. You can also order ahead or arrive early for big orders for birthdays or work.Aside from donuts they have breakfast sandwiches, kolaches, and danishes. Then tacos! So many different types of tacos. There are like four booths and plenty of drinks to choose from.

I go here 3-5 times a week. Best tacos and doughnuts in South Austin. Ignore the reviews from the out of towners - this place is legit, the people are nice and it's a local business.

I've been going to this place for almost 10 years and it's still one of my favorites for breakfast fare. Incredible salsa. UNBELIEVABLE salsa. Every ingredient is good but once you hit it with that heavenly red salsa you're on another level. I haven't even tried their donuts I'm just an acolyte for their breakfast tacos and salsa. I've been to vera Cruz, I've been to Guero. I've been everywhere and also grew up here. This is such a good spot and I will support them forever.

I was a doubter and boy did this place shock me! Small family owned feel to it and the service is incredible. Lots of options for donuts, breakfast sandwiches, drinks etc and all for great prices. This place is always packed and has become a go to for us!

Don't be deterred by the name, this place is delicious. The donuts are fresh and kolaches tasty. Don't sleep on the breakfast croissants! The eggs are freshly made and they're less than $5. This is such a great weekend breakfast spot where the service is quick, staff are friendly, and the food is always good.

Me and my fiancé go here every Sunday after our walk. The food is amazing. The breakfast tacos and donuts are just . The service is very fast and friendly. They have these new spinach tacos! Very good. Definitely consider this a gem. The place is small but very lively. Definitely suggest people try this place out!

During our vacation to Austin, we came here in search of the famous "Hook 'em Horns" doughnut, but to no avail. Apparently, the donut shop stopped making them years ago, probably due to the lawsuit brought upon them by the University of Texas to cease using the longhorn image that they had trademarked.So what else does this small, modest donut shop have? Well, other donuts of course. When we arrived on a Monday morning at 11AM, there were still plenty of donuts left with most of the flavors still being produced. The donut shop was pretty quiet with just a few customers and a few tables for people to sit down at. We ended up ordering the maple bacon donut and a lavender donut along with some munchkins/donut holes. I know it's not really a great enough sample size to give my full opinion of the donut shop, but the donuts were solid. I can't say they were any more spectacular than my local donut shop though, but everything was good in an OK way.

Great prices and love the tacos! Friendly service. Recommend ordering ahead to avoid wait.
