I went for the first time a coupleof nights ago with my daughter and a friend and what a treat! First, if you didn't know it was there, you'd never notice it just passing by. The restaurant itself is a neighborhood spot with a casual but well designed yet unpretentious vibe and an equally creative menu. And the noise level was low so as to allow for actual conversation, a rarity these days.Parking is super easy right in front and free, and the staff were all wonderful with great service. But the food was the star! As a starter, we shared the whipped feta with herbs, a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds accompanied by warm slices of pita. I could have licked the plate: Do not miss this one! As an entree, I ordered the night's special which was a blackened drum fish filet with a lemon cream sauce. Unlike many blackened fish dishes, this was not overly blackened where you can't taste the fish. It was prepared to perfection and the fish was super fresh. My only wish is that it was a regular menu item because I'd probably never order anything else it was that delicious. My daughter had the Chicken Milanese and our friend had the Bison Burger, both of which they loved. Even though we were comfortably full, we made room to share the zucchini carrot cake for dessert which was heavenly and a large enough slice for 3-4 people to share. I'm already planning my return here when my son is in town in two weeks. This is now my favorite Austin restaurant and it will take a lot to knock it out of first place.

We visited District Kitchen for brunch last minute with a party of 12, and they were able to seat us immediately with no wait, which was a pleasant surprise!I ordered a mimosa and the mushroom omelette, which was absolutely delicious. The combination of goat cheese and mushrooms was a fantastic pairing--something I wouldn't have thought of but really enjoyed. The smashed potatoes, however, were just okay. I didn't love the addition of sugar, which felt a bit unusual.Overall, it was a great brunch spot with plenty of vegetarian options and good service. I'd definitely go back!

I really think this place has the potential to be better, but a bit of lackluster service and hit and miss food made this not the upscale birthday experience we were hoping for.Service was awkward - interaction was a bit strange... Friendly but disconnected and the timing was off. Had the chicken Milanese, which was good. Like a chicken schnitzel with a kind of like mustard gravy but the broccoli was over spiced and the chicken needed more seasoning. Scallops were good, but the risotto was stodgy and tasted of mustard. (mustard must be their signature spice here) and my entrée. Caesar salad was fine but had two sad little anchovies on it after the server making a big deal of whether I wanted anchovies or not even though it's there on the menu.Cocktails were the bright spot. He had some interesting seasonal options as well as some great classics.

Came here for brunch with a friend and really enjoyed this spot. The restaurant itself is cute with moody interior design and a nice patio out front. I ordered the shakshuka which I had never had before but sounded really good and I'm glad I tried it. It was two poached eggs in a tomato sauce with sage sausage. It had so much flavor and depth, I really loved it. My friend got the sweet potato hash and said that it was very good as well. Our server was very nice and our food came out pretty quickly. Definitely will come back again!

It was such a gorgeous day we decided to pop out for a quick happy hour on a patio. I always forget how close District is, and I'm so glad we remembered today. We went before 5, so it wasn't busy at all. Grabbed a great spot on the patio (which is dog friendly btw). Plenty of parking is always a plus in my book, and greeted by a friendly hostess. We had a Very friendly server and he made some great recommendations! The Karaage was absolutely delicious. Overall great experience and we will be back. There are still a lot of happy hour nibbles I need to try, and next time we will bring the pup and stay a bit longer.

District Kitchen offers a delightful dining experience with scrumptious food that satisfies every palate. The menu features a variety of well-crafted dishes, each bursting with flavor and made from high-quality ingredients. The happy hour is a standout, providing great deals on drinks and appetizers, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The bar service is exceptional, and I highly recommend seeing Alan at the bar. His mixology skills and friendly demeanor elevate the experience, making every visit memorable. Whether you're there for a casual meal or a night out, District Kitchen delivers on all fronts.

The vegan ravioli is good! Servers have been nice and accommodating for dietary restrictions. I wish it was more clear that in order to get happy hour prices, you can only sit in certain parts of the restaurant. Definitely ask before making a reservation.

They do have a vegan option now! They have a vegan ravioli that changes a bit seasonally. It's not bad! They also have a tasty vegan soup. Would love those vegan options to continue coming and thank you!!!

5 stars for Brunch -- arguably THE best chicken and waffles I've ever had and the bacon beignets were a nice surprise. Came to brunch with my boyfriend and when we asked for the check, the server said that another couple paid for our meals. I started looking around asking the server who they were so we could thank them, but the server said they already left. So, to carry on the "random acts of kindness," we paid for another couples meal that morning too. Really lovely experience!
