Was looking for a place to grab lunch, stumbled upon DeSano, and came out loving life! The meatballs were so tender and juicy, smothered in delicious tomato sauce with a side of focaccia bread to soak up the remaining sauce. The staff was super friendly. The inside is a bit small, but still a great place to stop by to grab a bite. Need to come back to try the pizza

We were staying in a hotel in downtown and looking for a place close enough to walk. DeSano Pizzeria turned out to be the perfect find. After ordering, we found a couple of seats among the very limited seating. While we're waiting on our food to come out, it became apparent the small dining room is offset by a huge carry out business. Customers in the restaurant once; carry out customers for life!Unlike so many of the chain pizza places, these pies are truer to Italian pizza. There aren't crust options; you get it the way it is supposed to be made. The sauce is light and flavorful with just the perfect amount of cheese and toppings. We started with the Italian Chopped salad. So good! For me, the soppressata, mozzarella, and balsamic were the perfect balance against the romaine and radicchio greens. The flavor is made up of all kinds of "good stuff" - salty, slightly bitter, and savory. The mozzarella moderates the acidity of the balsamic vinegar as well. It is done so well.It took us forever to decide on which pizza we wanted because they all sounded so good. We finally landed on Il Maiale ("The Pig"). Prosciutto cotto and pancetta -- need we say more? We got the 16", but in retrospect - especially after sharing the huge salad - the 12" pizza would have been more than enough. It was so good! Our only issue with the pizza will be deciding what to try next time we are down here. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

Apparently we have been sleepin' on the best pizza in Austin. Everything from the sauce to the cheese to the crust is sheer perfection. Seriously the most yummy pizza I've had since living here. The cannoli is also freshly filled, which is amazing cause soggy cannoli is the worst. We will be back for sure! I'll dream about that crust...

This pizza was so delicious! The service was also great! The seating area is limited but when we were there people were constantly going in and out so we were able to get a seat rather quickly.We ordered the DESANO pizza. It has pepperoni and sausage and it was so good! We paired it with Peroni beer! They had several beer/wine/ and non alcoholic drink options which was really nice! I will def be visiting here again!

Look no further for the best pizza place in austin. This is my second time here. I enjoy the crust from the first time visiting, but not the burn parts on the bottom. This time both pizzas were not burnt, but rather having nice char on the bottom and edges which adds flavors. The dough is definitely better than other pizza places. The toppings are amazing like always. The cheese is stretchy and melty. I don't know where they got their cheeses from, but they have a distinctive taste. Service is 10/10. Everyone is nice and professional. I think I just found my new favorite lunch place.
