Deep Eddy Cabaret

Walking into Deep Eddy's is like going back in time... an old school dive bar where you can get a cheap drink, play some pool, and spark up a conversation with a stranger at the bar. It's a surprising but unassuming melting pot of Austinites of every stripe that's open 7 days a week, rain or shine, and most (if not all) holidays. No frills. No nonsense. They take happy hour very seriously with their Mon-Thurs 12-1 (??) and 7-8 options. The beer is cold and comes in mugs, mini-pitchers, and pitcher-pitchers -- and all for the cheapest price in Austin. They also have liquor and mixers ...and technically wine (if you dare) but I don't know that anyone's ordered wine here in the last 50 years. I'm tempted to ask just for giggles but risk, of course, being thrown out by one of their friendliest or surliest bartenders. It really is a choose your own adventure type of place.

It's Deep Eddy's...of course you need to come and have a drink here. Friendly bartender. Awesome jukebox...pool tables... After drinking go get some eats at Pool Burger right out - behind Deep Eddys.

Love this place! An Austin staple with some pool tables and indoor and outdoor seating. Very nice local spot and highly recommend to grab a drink at. The service is nice and they thankfully serve Tito's. The place gets pretty busy but it's not super crammed so you still have room to breathe.

I came here tonight 8/7/24 to get a drink w my boyfriend, the bartender asked for our ID And we showed our IDs to her. She starts mumbling saying "this isn't making me happy" honestly she seemed pretty drunk. She told me no she's not serving me. She thought my ID was fake. I'm 26 years old and manage a bar, I told her that and told her I'd show her proof and she refused. Never have I ever had that happen to me. Half the people in there looked way younger than I am.

Great dive bar experience! Visiting our son & daughter-in-law in Austin and our son recommended it for a local experience. Not disappointed. Great bartender and the beer was cold. Cool vibe with a definite retro feel. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a cold one!

Positively horrible in every aspect! Bar tender, guy with mustache working afternoon of 11/25, was rude as hell! Seriously what a jerk!I simply asked him for a DosXX and he tears into me! Tells me he isn't the bar tender. He was serving drinks and ringing up customer so I'm not sure what I should be calling him? I wasn't in anyway rude and apologized to him although I had no reason to do so. My friends and I will NEVER be back! Men's room was disgusting and smelled!

Cheap booze, very divey and old-Austin-y. Split two cheap pitchers of Lone Star with friends. Place is a bit small but packs so much Austin history on its walls. Worth a visit especially if you are coming from Deep Eddy pool and/or Pool Burger.

I brought my out of town family to Deep eddy Cabaret for Dec 26th post-Christmas beverages. We were excited to get out of the house and away from the kids for a fun night out. We ended up at deep eddy and had the absolutely worst experience I've ever had at a bar. I'm so embarrassed I brought my family here. Both (female) bartenders were so rude to us. Every time we ordered a drink the one bartender rolled her eyes at us and when the other one took our order she barked at me: "it works better if you order all at once". The problem with that is that I DID a order all at once but she ran away as soon as I said the first drink!!! Additionally the guy bringing ice into the bar (wearing a Dave and buster Jean jacket) was super rude to my 62 year old dad (who was just trying to watch the football game). He seemed drunk but that's not an excuse! Also why would you be drunk at work?!? I will never in my life spend another dollar at deep eddy, and when we have friends and family come to town I will tell then what a horrible experience we had and to NOT go to deep eddy.

Deep Eddie cabaret is a true Austin staple. We were very much excited to check it out after all the incredible things I've heard from living here . Went for Happy hour( half price beers!) on a Thursday, the female bartender (with arm tattoos) was extremely welcoming, attentive and sweet as hell. We'll be coming back!

If I could give a zero star review I would. Some girl who worked there told me to get out after a minute of being there, and I did nothing to warrant being told that. And she encouraged other patrons to say it as well and it was incredibly rude and I would never go here again.
