Wish I could say great things about this place and become a regular but tried the thali and it sucked. The bread was bitter? The dahi vada wasn't up to our expectations either just bleh.Super sad bc right now we're driving to the other side of town for vegetarian Indian food and having something good here would've been amazing. No plans to come back, unfortunately. Service was okay and the ambiance is casual -- which is fine by us.

This new restaurant/eatery around the neighbor is our go to place if we have to eat outside and the comfort food. Their food is very authentic and gives a feeling of home cooked food. This place only serves vegetarian food. Everything is super fresh, and cooked to perfection with correct spices and spice level. I have tried this place multiple times now and have tried several items from their menu and let me tell you - everything is delicious and excellent ! Their Indo-chinese reminded me of the India days Soo good ! The basics like kadahi, roti, parathas are something which my mom cooks at home - not too oily ! Love their weekend Thali - a complete whole hearty meal ! I can't brag enough about this place and also the quality that is served !The staff and the owners themselves are so generous , friendly and courteous! Can't go wrong with this place. It has a limited and small sitting area so something you might have to wait a bit !Enough parking in the complex ! 100% recommend..

Delicious new addition to Avery Ranch shopping complex! Dana Foods offers fresh vegetarian Indian food that has a home cooked feel. No heavy/creamy or oily gravies. Their food is light, digestible and leaves me wanting more.My favorite things to order:1. Dana Foods makes killer dhokla - a Gujarati snack that is flavorful and loved by kids and adults alike!2, The thali is massive, filling, and super flavorful. I have rolled myself out of the restaurant after eating a thali because I was very full but also very satisfied. The thali comes with three vegetable sabjis, dal, rice, appetizers, rotis, and dessert.3. Pav bhaji - absolutely recommend, so tasty!Their chaats are very average - I'd avoid these. The restaurant is clean and staff is helpful and attentive.

This is the kitchen/restaurant of the Dana bazaar owners and located around 10 shops away from grocery store. Good thing is you get 10% off after showing your Dana bazaar grocery store receipt. This place is only a couple of months old but has been able to get crowds on both weekdays and weekends. Dine in space is quite decent as well. They keep bringing different/special food thali's as well every few days. I've tried the hakka noodles and aloo parantha just around the time it got opened but wasn't much impressed. Noodles were ok, little bit oily. Parantha was not soft, separate layers. This Fri (4/7), my husband and I thought of giving it a chance again. We got aloo tikki, vada pav and Rajasthani Thali (special of the day). Aloo tikki was great, best part was tamarind chutney (red color that you see in below picture) and it was THE best. Vada pav would get 6/10 rating as vada was good, not too oily and spicy but somehow overall taste was lacking. Rajasthani Thali was above expectations. It had dal, 2 bati, gattq kadhi, besan ki sabji, churma, bajri ki rotla, garlic chutney, rice, salad, papad. Bati were fried but contain good amount of ghee. My personal favorite were churma and bajri ki rotla. Quantity is good for 1 person/2 person to share. Two chaats was ~$13 and Thali was ~$16 (price after 10% discount)

Quite a disappointment, in line with a sad trend of disappointing Indian restaurants in Austin. We were excited to see a new Indian place pop up the neighborhood, we are regulars at the sister-business Dana Bazar Indian Grocery store, and have been thinking of checking this place for a while. We excitedly scanned the menu and decided to order a Veg Thali, there wasn't any wait staff and it seemed like a self-serve model, but we didn't mind as we were excited about the food. Took about 20 mins for the Thali to be ready, which was a tad late considering its was early evening 5:30 pm or so and there was just one more customer on-premises.Finally, Thali arrived and we are excite to sample everything, first bites were not bad, considering we were starving for some time. But very soon the excitement weaned off.Though the selection of food on thali was decent, 2 veg curries, Rajma, and Gujarati style moong dal, the taste was all but missing. Rajma were cooked with minimal seasoning, kind of like Mexican refried beans, Dal was bland, Subzi full of oil. We had opted for Lachha paratha, which wasn't cooked enough, sections in the middle and side were raw. For a moment, we thought about reordering or trying something else, but decided against At that point , I had didn't have the patience to talk to the person at cashier, who again was waltzing between kitchen and cash, they seemed like short staffed. Went for Dal rice with pickles and made it a meal, followed by burgers from P-terry :)Overall, not impressed but hoping they up their game!I give 1 star, since it's in the hood, but highly doubt I'm going to try them again anytime soon.

If you are yearning for quality, authentic and flavorful food that will give you nostalgia of India, this is the place to be. Order at the counter and wait for name to be called. The menu has most of the popular and essential options, all vegetarian. It makes a lot of difference if the owners are present and are running the show. Over all great experience.

Located on the right side of SummerMoon and Optimal Eye care! My friends and I went at 11:30 and customers were steadily coming in, many of which were Indian, perhaps those who are familiar with the similarly named Dana Bhazar market on the other side of SummerMoon. Dishes came out around 5-10 minutes later, hot and tasted great. Not pictured is the pani puri, which I had for the first time and loved it!The owner was friendly as well, chatting with some customers/recognizable faces and asking how our meal was!TLDR definitely worth a try, especially if you're in the area and even if you're from further away! I think the food quality makes it good competition for the area.7 - 7.5/10 fabs

Delicious food served here!We were met by warm and friendly staff who helped us select from the generous menu options. This place might be like a meal at my Grandmother's if she were Indian. Indian home cooking at its best. A 5 star review to reflect the excellence we encountered here. Well worth a return visit!

New place opened up in our neighborhood so it is very close to us. All 100% vegetarian place with home made food flare. It's a mix of Indian street food and regular veg entrees. Food is very home made so it is very comforting reminding of back home. Owners are good as they same ppl who own the Indian grocery store in the complex. Staff is generous and helpful too. Overall love the place and their food and the fact we have another Indian food option close to us.
