We had not patronized Costa Azul in a while. Bad move! Azul has completely updated their menu and it is a SCORE!!! So many intriguing options to choose from. Known for their quality and tasty seafood "mariscos" ...they also have a good variety for those without a taste for the sea. To start, we highly recommend their guac with grilled shrimp and if you like spice, they keep several salsa options with peppers local to the Nayar mountains. Put a few drops of that on your guac... yahhh baby! Now main course ... so much to pick from. Try the Costa mix for all shrimp lovers. Shrimp 5 ways!! It's just amazing. Spectacular!! The fajita mix is so freaking on point it's just wow with fantastic tortillas that have to be handmade. Service is so nice and attentive. Very casual almost takes me back to the South America.Fellow foodie lovers Hint: ***Both the Costa mixa green sauce and brown sauce pairs with the fajita shrimp, chicken and beef by the way. Omg!! And certainly don't forget the bar with many cocktail and beer mix options. Try a michelada.

Have to visit here again soon! The food was delicious! Everything we ordered we really enjoyed! It's hard going out as a family of 4 to restaurants and dining in with 2 young kiddos, this place made us feel welcome and was very roomy! Bright decorations, good amount of parking, attentive employees, yummy food! I don't think you can ask for more.

I recommended this place 100%. It is so different from typical TexMex. A refreshing change. I got octopus and shrimp and fish. It was called the Molcajete el Sinaloa. It was a great presentation, incredibly tasty, and enough for two meals for me. I definitely wanna come eat here again. I saw the tilapia fish with the head in the tail and that's what I'll be getting next time. The staff was incredibly nice.

Ample parking, cute clean hoppin spot!We needed to find a spot to eat in Bastrop and feel like we found a new favorite spot. The Micheladas were insanely good. The service was great! Krystal took care of us and made good recommendations for menu options. There are a lot of options. There is a ton of seafood as well as non seafood options. I had the ceviche tostada and we also had the fish tacos. We wil definitely return.

As a follow up to prior reviews, had yet another delightful meal here. I usually don't return to restaurants and order the same thing, but I now have a favorite order that I rarely deviate from and that keeps me coming back. It's a two-item order: a beverage and a plate. The beverage is a michelada (La Quita Cruda) and the meal is an "al mojo de ajo" plate with the pescado (a tilapia fish filet). It's perfect every time. La Quita Cruda translates to the hangover cure. But you don't need a hangover to enjoy it! It's a michelada served with a side of aguachile. Michelada is like a Mexican Bloody Mary but with 12 oz of beer instead of 1 oz of vodka (though they do have Tito's vodka, too). Aguachile is a Northern Mexican dish that's a lot like ceviche: shrimp (or fish) marinated in chiltepin peppers, lime juice, salt, and slices of cucumber and red onion. It's awesome!Al mojo de ajo means preparing your fish fillet with tons of garlic and onion. And yes, they have breath mints by the front counter, lol. It comes with two sides. I get rice and salad. They offer white or Spanish rice and surprisingly I prefer their white rice, which looks simple but has amazing flavor. The salad is shockingly simple. Romain, carrot and tomato. Nothing more. It should be ashamed because it's completely undressed. (Not even a spritz of oil.) But it's very comfortable with itself, and is boldly comfortable au naturale! My wife got the fried fish fillet, which comes with a creamy, spicy chipotle sauce. She has gotten that before and really enjoys it. Our server, Avelino, was attentive, the music was lively, and we had a good time there, as we always do.

We stopped in today for lunch. The restaurant has a really fun vibe with cut outs and a neon sign to take pictures with when you enter. Our teens really liked this. My family thought the chips were on the salty side and that the salsa tasted more like tomato sauce than salsa. My ceviche was nice and cold, but was a little on the dry side for my taste. Probably wouldn't order it again, but the avocados on top were fresh. Our service was alright, but she didn't refill our kids drinks or ask if they would like another one. All of our hot items were nice and hot. A pretty nice place that we'd try again.

The enchiladas verde were sub par and the refried beans tasted like pureed beanie weenies. It took a long time to get our ticket after we finished eating. Food was edible and ambiance was fine. Left with full tummies but just do not want to come back again.

This was one of the best restaurants we've had in Bastrop so far! The birria tasted just like our favorite food truck in Austin. The service was great and very quick. Restaurant is decorated for great pictures! The Micheladas here are to die for!!!
