Celebrating a birthday here is sensational! You pay for what you're giving in quality. The service is stupendous, I couldn't be happier with the way the staff treats the guests at this restaurant. The chef is so attentive and always ready to serve himself the sides and check on each table. The food is not only delicious, but so well prepared and presented. The filet mignon I had was cooked to perfection. I also had the portobello mushrooms as my side and as they're cooked with Bourbon there's that sweet lingering taste at the end that makes you want more.I also tried the new England clam chowder and oh-boy that was great. The taste is so identical to one you could get in Main! It's pure deliciousness. The piano playing on the background is such a great touch for a nice evening. The building inspires conversation and wonder. I love this place so much!Whether is a gathering or a celebration I usually insist in having it here.I'm glad they're making the square a place to come for anyone's needs. A family place or a date night location with tons of different places for everyone.

Disappointed. We have been here a few times and decided to come here for my birthday. We just left after spending time in the speak easy followed by dinner for my birthday with a group of 4. The check in was good, they took us down stairs in the elevator and walked us to the table. It took us from sit down to drinks in hand 30 minutes. The drinks and atmosphere were good but it took way too long to get drinks. They had 1 bartender and it was not good. At minimum bring waters if that's the situation. The waitress was polite and friendly but not fast by anymeans, we closed out that tab bc there was no way we would have time for more and they brought us up to the restaurant for our dinner reservation. Great soft handoff to the upstairs but that was it. Our server was a pompous jerk. We discussed it and we truly felt like he treated us like we were poor and we couldn't afford to be there. Looking down his nose at us after I didn't want his recommendations. The server who was training was an absolute delight. She was friendly, had great energy and was actually nice. I ordered a glass of prosecco, he recommended a Rosé. I said I don't normally like Rosé and when I asked if there was a way to try it before selecting that, he shot me down and was extremely rude. "I'll just bring you the prosecco." Well ok then. We ordered 3 steaks, a lobster roll plus sides. When the food was brought out I was underwhelmed. It was terrible. 2 steaks were over cooked and plated like a 5 dollar cheap steak. My husband ended up switching with his steal for our friends Lobster Roll bc she disliked it and would not eat it. I added the Oscar style topping to my 7 oz filet mignon. It was bad. I ended up brushing it off all together. I didn't finish my steak bc it just wasn't good. The whole plate was warm but not hot or cold. The staff, outside of our actual waiter were all amazing as far as service goes. The speak easy needs more staff. The food was down right bad. I would not recommend nor would we go back.

We stopped in here for a cocktail after lunch and I'm so glad we did. The vibe is super cool. I guess it was a post office? I assume? Based on the name and some of the decor? But also a prohibition/speakeasy vibe so idk really know what was going on, but I liked it. Luke was the bartender while we were there and he was attentive and funny and made great drink suggestions. He almost talked us into food despite literally having just eaten lunch. I highly recommend the Post Poppy for drinks, but will have to come back and try the food another time. P.S. I just checked their website and it says this "City Post Chophouse began its story in the 1930s as a U.S. Post Office amid the Great Depression and Prohibition." So I guess that answers all my atmosphere questions and I just needed to do some research.

You absolutely must go to City Post . The building is beautiful, service is fantastic, and the food is 10/10. Treat yourself! If you have time, visit their basement speakeasy as well.

This is truly a hidden gem in downtown Georgetown. Parking is tight so you may be walking a block or two but it's worth it. We had 11am reservations, reservations are not required but encouraged. We were a party of 3 and quickly seated upon arrival. We tried a couple appetizers and each had a different entree. Everything was delicious, fresh and great quality. Pro tip: ask for the brussel sprouts to be crispy and get the onion jam on the side, it's heavenly combo. The tuna poke appetizer has a nice kick, the cheese and charcuterie board is a nice split for 2/3 people. For main dishes we had the French onion soup, roast chicken, and city post salad added chicken. We saw other tables ordering equally delicious looking dishes so I'll be back to try more!

5/5 We enjoyed brunch at City Post for a friend's birthday & it was amazing! They have a Sunday brunch menu with a great variety of lunch & breakfast options as well as drinks. Our service was fantastic- he was very kind and attentive & helped us decide what to get! We went with the bread service (not pictured, but highly recommended!) the bread and butter were great - they had a BBQ butter and regular butter. I would just keep in mind that it's only enough for 2-4 people. We also got the lobster Mac & cheese and the roasted chicken and waffles. Both were really good! Parking was a bit of a challenge given it was a Sunday at noon, but we managed to find parking on the square - the server mentioned that the restaurant owns several parking spots behind the building but we didn't see them. Overall a great place for a fine dining experience or a celebration!

Food and Service was immaculate. The wife and I do weekly date night to help keep the relationship strong. No kids, no work, just the two of us enjoying time together. Never been to City Post and decided to give it a try. I will say they didn't disappoint. The chef came out to deliver our meal to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. This is A1 service!! Kudos to City Post for making it a night to remember. I will have to make another post to follow up to make sure this wasn't a fluke.

We stopped in for lunch as our daughter is a member of the City Post Chophouse and we were delighted with the atmosphere, service, and especially the food! We had the French onion soup, lobster roll, and the baked salmon and everything was delicious! The inside of the restaurant has maintained the feel of the former post office yet is designed very elegantly. Everything on the menu looked amazing and the waitstaff were very friendly! There is plenty of curbside parking and the location is in the middle of downtown Georgetown. I absolutely recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner as you will not be disappointed.

We took my parent to celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary yesterday. They prefer to have a late lunch over dinner at 89 and 91 so we chose City Post. The staff was attentive as always, our celiac needs were easily met. Wine list is wonderful, as well as, the lunch menu tomahawk pork chop. They were out of their white cake lemon glaze dessert which was the only disappointment. But that didn't deter us from trying crème brûlée and sticky caramel pudding. It was a lovely meal. The Assistant Manager heard we loved the music playing...Sinatra, Lennon Sisters, big band and jazz playing so she gave us a private tour of their new Speakeasy and Cigar Lounge. Just amazing and beautiful! Keep up the great service and innovation you have a gem on the square that we need!
